The Aventon Aventure is one of the most popular fat tire e-bikes under $2,000 on the market today. This Aventon Aventure has a very fast top speed and the range is better than competing fat tire electric bikes with smaller batteries.

See the chapters linked below to see the full list of performance tests completed in this Aventon Aventure review and hear my subjective and objective points on this machine to learn if this is the right e-bike for you in 2023. Watch this before you buy the RadRover 6 from RadPower bikes, this one looks better, has a bigger battery that's easier to attach, and it's faster too.

would like to see your review of the Aventure.2. When is that coming?
Fantastic demo and a big Thumbs up for the "hill test".
Liked and subscribed. When are you going to review the Aventure 2? Thanks for this video.
Best buy is closing them out for $699.99 right now.. 12/19/2023. Got 2 on the way. Thanks for the detailed review, so happy to find someone also 6'5" and 195#..
Do you remember when they went on sale
I am 5’5 over age 60 and disabled. This bike rocks! My neighborhood has a long steep hill coming up out of a ravine near Lake Michigan. I have the smaller frame but I’m still learning to take off smoothly. It’s a little big for me to get started but once I get going it is amazing!
Did you get the small or the medium?
A must for these is a sturdy bike rack. These are 78 lbs. There are some racks that come with a ramp to aid in loading them.
I like the reviews, but, I still didn't see one for RadRover 6. I want a comparison between RadRover 6 and Heybike Brwan! Thanks and keep up the excellent work.
Any chance you could do a review of the new Aventure 2 please?
I am approaching 1,000 miles on my Aventon Aventure and I completely agree with this review. Overall, I can highly recommend this ebike. There is a throttle lag but I can easily engage the throttle just one second before needing it - it's very natural to me now.
The power is awesome and the range is excellent. I weigh 220 lbs at 6'1" and regularly ride 30 miles on a full charge and always return with energy to spare. I bought it from my Aventon bike shop in Las Vegas and they have performed free tune ups and helped with some light upgrades (they added the Tanus Armour tire inserts). I dropped the bike once and they adjusted the derailer for free. I have been on some real sandy/chunky trails and the beach and the fat tires are the best. This ebike is tough. Again, very accurate review on all aspects of the bike and I can highly recommend Aventon (my wife has an Aventon Pace and both bikes perform very well.
Thank you for your comment dude, it’s good to hear from a long term owner that you agree with my observations. Happy to hear you are enjoying the bike and it’s holding up well long term, happy riding brother!
Hi Krist, I live in las vegas where did you buy this bike and what store are you referring too, thanks..
Does the pace hill climb as well as the Adventure- was going to get one for my wife as well??!!
Thanks 4 this review.. I'm 6 feet n 220lbs.. so this is good news
How awesome to know. I just picked up mine yesterday. I live on the 4th floor of my apartment building. The elevator wasn't working, so I pushed it up four flights of narrow stairs to my apartment. It has both racks on it as well it's heavy! Until I find a safe place to keep it . I've only been able to look at it sitting, looking pretty. Unfortunately, this elevator needs completely rebuit were looking around 3 to 6 months after they decide on which contractor. Yes I'm upset because I called the office and asked about the elevator she told me it would be fixed by the end of June. 😢I am newly divorced and my parents passed away last year. I don't know anyone else who would store it for me. I might have to rent a closet unit until it's fixed.
Do you plan on reviewing the Adventur 2? Just ordered mine today!
I test rode one with zero pedal assistance, and it was still easy to ride without needing the assist. So I could theoretically save the assist for the ride home when I'm burned out and tired and sore and then kicking it in to help push me home. It's a nice comfortable cruiser bike that can be used off on the trails as well.
Haha true, it might feel easy for a while with no pedal assist, but 70 lbs and those big tires is a lot of weight to move. I just took a fat tire cruiser on 35 mile round trip to the Hollywood sign today, mostly using pedal assist 1-2 for the first half of the ride, then 3-4 for the second half. It was like 2000ft of elevation gain. I got a flat tire at the top 🤦♂️. Was quite the adventure, I’ll be posting the video soon.
🙌
I own this bike, I think it is absolutely terrific after 1000 miles. I’m in excellent shape and I would say it is a stretch to suggest that it is easy to pedal with no power. Yeah for pinch on flat ground but I don’t think you’re going to be cruising very long as there is significant drag from the weight and tires. Otherwise, this is amazing Bike for all the purposes noted
I have been debating on purchasing this bike at one point over this year, they did give a second battery free. I haven’t seen the offer since then. Also, may I add, you can buy an adapter to kit adding another battery that will extend your range… so I really haven’t come to the conclusion, but I will say I like the torque sensor as I do have a cadence on my other bike but I feel you’ll get more of an workout with the torque sensor
It's a very nice looking bike. I appreciate the review. Thanks!
Thanks for all your comments Russ, I read them all
Hi, I am thinking of buying a Electric Fat bike, looking at Aventon Venture 2, Magnum Nomad and the Velotic Nomad 1. I'm a big person (350 pounds). For someone starting out is there one better than another for a newbie? Thanks!
Some of the things you noted in this review have apparently (and fortunately) been changed significantly in the Aventure.2: torque sensor now, for example; the throttle still lags a bit, but I find that very useful for safety as it won’t jump from under you; the pedal assist DOES jump however, which is an awesome feature in a pinch; the system doesn’t reset when it’s at rest, of the battery removed (stays in level 3); it comes with the rear rack now too.
I added a seat post suspension that smooths the ride as well, plus a handlebar lift kit as I’m also taller at 6’-3”, with 36” inseam legs. Overall I’m tremendously impressed with the machine! It goes everywhere I want to ride … paths and trails, off-trail, sandy beaches, grassy knolls, curbs and stairs, etcetera. The fat tires are perfect for me at 69 years as it’s very stable. And the power allows me to explore much more distance than my HPV, which is still a favorite ride. I’m hoping to get some good trail riding in the snow soon also.
Great review there!
I’m 6-5 so I’ll need the handlebar lift kit. Do you recall what you used?
Which bike did you test had the regen brakes?
A friend has a bike shop and he had number of the Aventon Aventure 1s I found pretty much what you found . The bikes very pleasant to ride. The throttle drove me nuts. I have been riding dirt bikes most of my life so the lag well it's not what
I prefer. Now my wife thought it was great. I reviewed the Aventure 1 and hoped for them to get me a Avebture 2 which the did. lets say pretty much all of the problems are taken care of. Plus they now have a torque sensor.. The bikes on sale and for $1599 the Aventure 2 is a very nice ride. Its freezing in New England so my CZcams review will be coming out this week. Along with the Juiced RipCurrent which I LOVE.. Great review very fair and most important honest..
He indeed did not make the light LMAO.
~~~Noticed you passed a few people on your ride without any callouts or notice, Right Aventon didn’t throw in any BELLS , what the Chinese can build a bell for less than $3 .
I just bought 2 for $1499 each plus a 5% military discount. They may be clearing them out because a second version is out now with a torque sensor.
I believe they came out with a model 2.0 but it is not worth the $400 more . Enjoy your ride . Stay safe
Yup 2.0 is amazing!
Just got the V2 for $1699, absolutely love it…
If I were to get a premium feeling stationary bike with a heavy flywheel, magnetic resistance, and a screen that tells me my calories burned for under $400, what bike would that be?
Would love to see you review of the Aventure.2. :)
We are a dealer for these. At first they were great. Now we're having problems with the software. Support is not being very helpful. We also sell Trek and Cannondale. We've had more problems with the Aventon in the last three months than with Trek and Cannondale in the last twelve months.
Are you riding over there near Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station?
Now due a review of the new version please 2.0
Review the Adventure 2
Can you do a review on the aventon adventure 2 with its new price point at 1,599? Please
So im looking at a Aventon adventure vs the hey bike brawn which one would u recommend?
brawn has less throttle lag which is much better in my opinion and a cooler headlight
I have over a thousand miles on mine and I have never liked the delayed throttle. Not a deal breaker, but is always an annoyance.
I agree, it is annoying for sure. Other than that great bike
great review...but i have a couple questions im currently 370 lbs how much do you think my weight would affect the motor and battery usage. also what camera set up are you using for video?
I like your review, any plans to review adventure 2?
Thank you, perhaps so. I think the only meaningful difference is it has a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor, which is significant. Not sure it makes it worth several hundred dollars more or not though.
That bike is really fast! Could use a bigger battery though.
It really is pretty quick, although there are a couple out there that can hit 38 😆, the problem with charging is you can only charge these smaller batteries so fast without damaging the cells. The manufacturer sets them up for longevity instead of peak performance
I like your reviews but man you are ‘crazy’ and I mean that in a good way to be riding in that traffic. My brother in law just got clipped in Seattle and smashed his pelvis. Be safe.
I think it loses its edge in Canada since we have a limit of 500W here...so no extra power advantage and it is quite hard to find in Canada. I went with a RadRover 6 instead with $300 off which is much cheaper and I think looks better, easier to order, better support, accessories, etc.
I was seriously looking at this one until i read our typically strangling CDN regulations relegating us to a gutted version of a good design. What a wakeup !
If it does sand then gravel is no problem? Severe rider tallness? (6'8") (240#)
Yeah, all these fat fire bikes dominate gravel. Some do better on hills then others. If you like the Aventure you might want to check this one out while it’s still on sale: Overpriced EBikes DO NOT Want You To See This!
i do feel the .2 is 1899$ and fixed most of the cons on the list but also i dont think the .2 will hit 33mph although ill try and let you know being i have one
Do you know if they fixed that throttle response delay?
@@danielpaulson8838 the 2.0 dose not have a delay... but riding over 29mph is not happening
@@brianbutcher7338 Thank you, Brian
@@brianbutcher7338hey brother why wouldn't it get up over 29 anymore what happened?
How do conventional cyclers feel about e-bikes zooming at 30mph on the bike path?
To be honest, I think some conventional cyclists might feel a little envious of the ease and speed that eBikes provide. It's like the cycling equivalent of driving a sports car compared to a sedan - sure, you still have to pedal, but the electric motor gives you a little extra oomph to zoom past everyone else on the road. Of course, there are also some purists who might argue that eBikes aren't 'real' cycling and that the only way to truly enjoy the sport is to do it the hard way, with pure muscle power. But at the end of the day, we're all just out there trying to have a good time and get some exercise, so let's just enjoy the ride. Maybe one day we'll all be zooming around on eTricycles powered by unicorn farts 💨
I have a confession; I did not write the previous text, I told ChatGPT AI to generate a funny and clever reply to your comment 😂
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
28mph is 45 km/h. This is max speed for europe speed pedelecs. I think this is a european speed pedelec. They also can drive up to 30 km/h on throttle and with pedaling up to 45 km/h. That why you throttle speed is limited to 20mph. The motor might be also locked to 500W on throttle. Thats the maximum speed-pedelec norm. With pedaling 4000W are allowed.
Ok first, love your videos! Just subscribed and recommended this channel to my team at work! But I think you may want to focus a little more on the road lol... I swear, you almost get into like 3-5 accidents in each of your videos!
🙏 trying to do better
@@TailHappyTV Reduce it to one near-miss per episode and I'll be happy! :D
I do not recommend fat tires unless you have a house in the beach and you need to ride to town across the beach everyday
How can this compete with wired freedom when wired freedom gives you a lot more for the same money?
I have an Aventure .2 and the difference is the amount of support and trained technicians in my area...if something breaks on a wired I have to have it shipped...its a real drag
I certainly hope you don't ride like that all the time. You would give all e-bikers a bad name and encourage restrictions to where we can ride. I always try to be very careful and courteous when passing others. Flying past people means if they make an unexpected sudden move there is an injury that makes people complain about e-bikes and their speed. I don't want to lose my ability to access beautiful places on my e-bike because of reckless e-bikers.
He rides like he got DUI and isn't legally allowed to ride a motorcycle anymore..
The question is, do you have a happy trail? 👀
I have noticed this bike no longer goes 30+mph anymore... Seems Aventon silently reduced it's top speed.
Correct. I emailed them and they have now limited the max speed to the aventure and aventure 2 to 28 mph. Unfortunately.
Stupid decision, losing its main selling point against competitors
@@horsepastedelish yes. Never bought it after they did that.
@@horsepastedelish nah it helping above 28 ran risk of losing its classification as an ebike of any class.
@@Syllaren Who dafuq cares about ebike classification? Is that why Talaria and Wired are the hottest ebikes currently?
your tires ridiculous pressure checked
I thought you hated fat tire bikes?
It’s a shame you have to ride that fast on trails where people are walking as you could seriously hurt somebody. It’s really not that impressive considering you’re not doing much of the work…..if you want to ride that fast go on a bike only path or the highway and then see how brave you are.
Sand and salt not good for any bike. Fat tyre we need for hub motor and grass and not aligned foot paths.
Wheels distance should be bigger, bike too short in geometry
If the recommend charging current 2A , discharge should be similar or max 5A ( not 20+so you need another battery in parallel. Around rear rack you can put few bats.
For speed 40km/h you need 1000W , for 50km/is truly required 2000W peak , downhill and down wind any bike fast but not any able to stop fast.
If you lift up rear wheel mid drive 1000W can do 80km/h ??
