The older I get, the more grateful I become to have been a teenager in the 80s.
I was a teen in the 90s but I was the youngest by 8 years and 5 years. So I had more exposure to the 80s culture than most my age. And I’m grateful for that as well
100%
Right on!
Me too!!!! Loved the 80s
We were so damn lucky to have been teenagers in the 80’s!!
Bro, Def Leppard has one of the DEEPEST catalog of hits of all time! They’ve got entire albums that are hits! You should dive down the rabbit hole!
Couldn't agree more
Definitely!! Dive in lol (high and dry cover)
I remember listening to this down at the beach back in the day
My friends and I literally wore out the "Hysteria" cassette tape. That entire album is one giant hit.
@@jimmyboy131 me too!!!!
The 80's was the era of excess. Excessive music, money, parties, cars and the list goes on and on. It was definitely a party.
that it was!!
Mustn't forget excessive hair.
glad to have grown up then its never been the same
And Drugs! Lots and Lots of Drugs.
Reagan let everyone eat candy for dinner, we're still sick from it
80s rock was the party, 90s were the hangover. 😃
👀, hahaha... indeed 🤭, 🐧
😆🙌
**shudder**
Grunge.
This band is more about vocals and lyrics than solos. Their drummer had an accident and lost his arm. He relearned to play drums one armed. It's amazing!
That's as rock n roll as it gets!
I remember when that happened. He blew us all away coming back to play the drums as good as before.
@@scottm.1182 absolutely , the 80's was the best for music IMO
Uses peddles to play with his left foot that he used to play with his left arm!
@@shweetpotato Right on!!!
This entire album is fire...check out "Foolin", and "Photograph", "Die hard the hunter"...
Die Hard the Hunter is so underrated.
Stagefright
Yeah if your looking for an awesome guitar solo from them try "Die Hard The Hunter". Like a full 2 minutes of the terror twins going to town.
This was my first rock album I ever. Owned then Eric b and Rakim follow the leader. So when RUN-DMC and aerosmith got together 💘
This is a take to a desert island album for me one of the best
Hysteria as an album was a phenomenon. And when you realize that the drummer, Rick Allen, is playing with one arm, well that’s another level of crazy 💥
Jojo: "Let me turn this up...."
Everyone who has ever heard Deff Leppard before: "Yep."
Bro 80s is the best music, Good he is doing Def Leppard, hopefully Poison is next!
Yes!
YES love Poison! Especially Something to Believe In, Every Rose Has It's Thorn, Nothin But A Good Time, Fallen Angel and Unskinny Bop.
Yes poison
Definitely try Poison
You read my mind!
I really recommend "Bringing on the heartbreak" by Def Leppard, it's a ballad with a hard edge to it, great song.
I totally agree.
But make sure to follow it with "Switch 625"
Yes
Billy's Got a Gun
Love Love Love that song
You can NEVER NEVER go wrong with Def Leppard!!!! They're a rockers dream come true!!!!🤟💜🎶🎼🎵 IT'S ROCK N ROLL BABY!!!! Gotta listen to the whole album!!!
KISS, Bon Jovi, Journey, Boston, Kansas, ToTo, Quiet Riot, Dire Straits, Twisted Sister, Motorhead, ZZ TOP, Europe, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Poison, Motley Crue, Steve Miller band, White Snake, REO Speedwagon, Guns n Roses, Jefferson Starship, Queen..... I have many great songs to reccommend.... These bands have those songs...
I totally agree with your list of recommend bands! Best music ever!
Agree with your list, though I need to add Foreigner too.
Dire straits.. Pink Floyd... cdcr...Scorpions...Bryan adams.. great lion...
Ozzy
yes
Def Leppard is amazing. So many good songs.
Photograph, Hysteria, Animal, Rock of Ages, Armageddon It, Billy's Got A Gun, Don't Shoot Shot Gun, Run Riot, Rocket, and more. Also, you should listen to some more Nirvana.
Don't forget about Gods of War :) Massively underrated song by them in my opinion!
@@matthijs2825 Don't forger Pour some sugar on me
Pour Some Sugar On Me
@@matthijs2825 my favorite Def Leppard song. Second is probably hit and run.
So true. Great album. Just like hysteria. Amazing band
This was very typical 80's production, with the drums mixed LOUD. These songs were written and recorded with the intent of sounding great in huge arenas (in fact, we had a name for it: Arena Rock. It was really its own genre.
Mutt Lange: "that was real great, do it a million times more backwards"
This is widely viewed as one of the best produced albums of the '80s. I wouldn't call it typical, although I would say it's a good archetype. You're definitely right about them. Wanting to sound like a good arena band, like Queen or AC/DC.
The difference is old school groups actually had real musicians playing their own songs and they could play them in concert without the need of special sound effects to sound right.
And the wrote all the music, did not sample
What? Of course they use effects and pedals, like any rock band lol
@@DaP84 right used equipment to make their own music and had to do their best to play all the way through as apposed to same a small perfect bit and loop it. Now I am fully aware many music writers or producers would use true pro musicians like the Wrecking Crew who could be found on a great many top albums. But the groups would still have to play live.
My mom was obsessed with Def Leppard. I grew up listening to this music. I’m happy to see it’s still appreciated. ❤️
Edit: This is my favorite drinking song. I love blasting it.
80’s had the best music! 🎶🤟🏼
hehe.. I would agree with you ;)
70’s too!
@@audreygriffitt9538 hehe... Without the 70's funk and synth... 80's wouldn't be till the 90's lol
Rock and Rap? You must know Run DMC did Walk This Way, an original Aerosmith song back in the 80's!
Absolutely a classic
"These old songs are lit. They make new stuff look BAD."
*HE GETS IT!*😆😁🤘😎👍
Finally Def Leppard 😁😁😁😁
Some good Def Leppard songs are Photograph, Hysteria, Pour Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites, Foolin’, Too Late For Love, Animal, Rocket, Bringing On the Heartbreak, Lets Get Rocked, Two steps behind(I like acoustic version), Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad
Omg you NEED to react to Love Bites by Def Leppard!!!!!!! Hysteria and Let’s Get Rocked are also both great songs 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That is a great song but he needs to do pour some sugar on me
Might want to do "Pour Some Sugar On Me" next
Yes, yes, yes!! 🔥
Definitely
There is a fantastic cover by the band NSP, that also has a great music video to it too. Enjoy!
👍👍👍
YES
"Pyromania" was the first album I ever bought (on vinyl, in 7th grade). Only time my father ever told me to "turn that shit down!"
Mine was Bang you Head every morning drove them crazy. Got my Grandson loving 80s music.
Phil and Steve Clarke don’t get enough credit. Great guitar duo. Phil is a big r&b fan and bought some of those grooves to that band
Fuck yes
In 1986 they was in their home country taking a break before they start a new tour and the drummer was in a car accident and lost one of his arm but the band did not give up on him and stuck by him and helped him build something to help him play the drums that he would play with the arm he lost with his feet and the rest is like they say history .
Then, just to show that they hadn't lost a step, they went and made their best selling album ever, Hysteria, which is #51 all time album sales
He should review hysteria
That happened on December 31st, 1984.
It was earlier than that, 83 or 84, they made their comeback with him at Donington Monsters of Rock festival in 86
@@FernandoDaniel7 yep, I was in London for a college semester at that time. They printed the office address of their manager on the liner notes of Pyromania. I went by the office and met him, and saw a mock-up of their “in the round” stage. Do They Know It’s Christmas was recorded that winter too. It was a great time to be in England.
Def Leppard was the band that got me hooked on rock music.
With you on that one!
Pyromania was my first album. I was 7 yrs old when it came out
Mine was van halen
I'm glad I grew up in the 80-90's music era. Most of todays music doesn't have the talent as they did in the 80's.
My favorite band of all times. No one sounded like these guys. A lot more hits than just this one. Check them out!!
love the spicoli picture on your profile 😂😂
Another great Def Leppard song is "Rocket"
Totally that’s my second favorite song by them
Please PLEASE react to more def leppard. Here’s some suggestions: Pour Some Sugar On Me, Billy’s Got A Gun, Photograph, Bringin’ On The Heartbreak, Rock Rock (Till You Drop), Animal, Hysteria, Too Late For Love, High N’ Dry (Saturday Night) and Let It Go
As a 52 years old metal head from South America I tell you....its great to see a kid dancing a 1983 rock Song.
“These are REAL party songs”. I love it!!! Yep, the kids don’t know what they’re missing I love your channel!!
Yesss thank youuuu!! I’m so happy you’re listening to thisssss!! This is my fave one!!❤️ you gotta do “Photograph”, “Billy’s Got a Gun”, “Foolin’”, “Too Late for Love”, & “Action! Not Words”😃🙏🏼👌🏼😁💯🔥
That reads like a playlist, :)
Too Late For Love - you need to react
Jo Jo you got how we used to dance back 35 years ago.. No other way it just grabs ya.
You need to watch a video of the drummer play. He had an accident and had an arm removed. Incredible how he plays now.
Also, PHOTOGRAPH PHOTOGRAPH PHOTOGRAPH
Doing something to your ears. Yes, it’s called an eargasm.
Mutt Lange produced/mixed both AC/DC and Def Leppard.
Many similarities.
Legend has it Mutt sought out a young band like Def Leppard because he got tired of being told how it was gonna be by Malcolm Young. Malcolm ruled AC/DC with an iron fist. Mutt wanted a younger more impressionable band he could more easily guide. You aren’t wrong, though, Mutt’s signature is all over Foreigner, AC/DC and Leppard records
Mutt Lange also helped Shania Twain, he was even married to her! Lots of pop and rock influence in S.T.'s country tunes.
…. and The Cars where the band said Mutt Lang had them do the song over and over
Def !epard is a one of my favorite rock groups of all time. “ Bringin on the Heartbreak”, “Lady Strange”, “let it go”, “Photograph”, “Foolin”, Gods of War, “Rock Rock, Till you drop” are some of my favorites that I think you would like..l
I’m 19, been listening to rap my whole life, until I started listening to classic rock and now I can’t turn back
Poison.. Talk Dirty To Me or Nothing But a Good Time for beats.. Every Rose Has Its Thorn or Something To Believe In for ballads. 80s music is all about fun...
From Wikipedia: "According to the liner notes of the compilation release Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection, the band was at a recording studio when lead vocalist Joe Elliott stumbled upon a hymn book left by a member of a children's choir that had just used the studio. In the book, he saw the words "Rock of Ages", which prompted him to write the lyrics of the song."
More Def Leppard!! 🤘😝🤘
Love Def Leppard. Probably only band with one armed drummer. Lost his arm in a car crash, and kept the job as drummer...
Def leppard Pyromania album is one of the greatest albums ever made.
Check out “Blackout” or “No one like you “
by the Scorpions
You won’t be disappointed 🤘
Rock you like a hurricane
Any of those will do for me!
DAMN FINALLY!!!! And they are amazing. Do pour some sugar on me.
These guys are Amazing and all of my 80’s was Def Leopard and Bon Jovi were my boys.
Listen to these songs from Def Leopard.
Photograph.
Pour some sugars on me
Foolin
Bring on the Heartache
Animal
Let’s get Rocked
They have some of the Rock Anthems. Not bad for a band who ha e been together since 1978, they are all from England
Not every guitarist can be the GOAT Stevie Ray Vaughan, but there are many guitar legends out there all the same. The true measure is what they make you feel when they play. To that end, it seems like Def Leppard deserves another listen someday. \m/ #LoveAndPeace
The Drummer has one arm brother!! You should check out the Def Leopard hysteria album. choose your song lol
When i was 10 yrs old i asked my parents for the pyromania cassette tape. They were thinkin what the hell are our kids listening to. Got it in my stocking for Xmas. Still one of my best xmas memories. They made a mark on me as a youngster and did for decades for all AGES 😛
Love Bites by them is one of my all-time favorite songs ever! This is 80's rock! The drummer lost his arm in a car accident and relearned to play with his one arm and feet! He's amazing!
I can tell you the first time I heard this song. I think I was 14...my mom had to keep buying me cassettes because I wore them out listening over and over. Once CD's came out, I only had to buy it one more time! I am SO GLAD I grew up in the 80's!!! Photograph is still one of my very favorite songs ever...40 years later. There isn't a bad song on all of Pyromania!
The fact the he can ask if this is ANYTHING but rock just tells you how much the genres have melded together. ❤️
OMG you are FINALLY checking out Def Leppard!!!! One of my most favorite bands and SO much fun in concert! Pls check out Photograph, Animal, Pour Some Sugar on Me- anything from their Hysteria album! You really can’t go wrong with them!
I love how the music took over him. He couldn’t help but move to it and get all into it. Love it! Def Leppard is my favorite rock band of all time.
The drummer lost one arm in a car crash...and his band mates stayed true to him, now he plays a kit that is part acoustic and part electronics...check their bio out
The Offspring use that Def Leppard intro in their song “Pretty Fly For A White Guy” . Check it out.
What’s up kid really good band/decent track/great reactor thankfully👏🏼..but don’t get cocky brother here are the Def Leppard songs ya gotta do I wouldn’t steer you wrong..”Photograph” “Bringing on the heartbreak” “Love bites” “Poor some sugar on me” “Rocket” “Hysteria”..can’t go wrong with any of those my friend..alright go get’em channel sounds great👍🏼🤘🏼
Anything off “Hysteria” by Def Leppard. Their drummer lost his arm and all their music from “Hysteria” and on are with him playing with one arm. Inspirational and just amazing!
I remember when this first came out, 80s were absolutely fun times , LFR you would have loved growing up in that Decade.
Do run to the hills or round and round
iron maiden - hallowed be thy name! 🤯😉
Any Def Leppard is a party song.. take your pick...I LOVE Def Leppard...
This song makes laugh a little. My grandmother heard the chorus and she liked the song. It reminded her of the old hymn Rock of Ages. That being said, she really did love it. R.I.P. Ruth, Nanny!❤
Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard
"Rock of Ages" was my introduction to Def Leppard and to a large extent, the harder side of Rock and Roll. The whole Pyromania album is good. I like "Photograph" a lot as well.
If you've listened to "Pretty Fly For a White Guy" by Offspring, yeah, they copied that first little bit from this song ;)
The entire Hysteria album is seriously great. "Hysteria" is an amazing song from there as is "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and the rest... "Animal", "Love And Affection", etc.
Did anyone else buy something from the Def Leppard vault about 2 months ago? Or is that just me? 😂
I finally got to see them on my 44th birthday. Was never a huge fan, but the concert was amazing. They won me over. They were with poison and Lita Ford
They still perform this song live during their encore. Awesome band to see live, and to think they are 60 years old! My favorite band of all time.
Stagefright is a very underrated but very good Def Leppard song
I said welcome to my shooooooooooooowwwww
I've been listening to hip hop since the late 80s, started with NWA
I'm a Supernatural fan from the start in 2005. This song has been a part of the fandom for 15 years and counting. The show used it in the season 5 finale when the lead character faces off against the devil. Every time this song starts... I think of Supernatural. 😁
What made it doubly endearing ot me is that I was a long-time fan of Def Leppard since the 80s! So when the song showed up in Supernatural it just made me love the show even more.
The 80’s was the best decade! I was in my late 20’s-early 30’s and it was the time of my life! I’ve been a concert hopper for decades and Def Leppard is a band I’ve seen many times and it’s ALWAYS a great time! Just fun, party music!
Well, actually rap vocal style has its roots in rock. For short I’ll leave a clear example here: back in black by ac dc
Well, if you want to headbang to more old rock song then maybe you should listen next to 18 and life from Skid Row
Monkey business or slave to the grind would be better
Yessss Skid Row
Their drummer list one arm and the band DID NOT replace him. They waited for him to learn to play with over arm and his feet. That says A LOT about their character. The determination of their drummer is outstanding.
This is what we grew up with! Def Leppard was my favorite band when I was in high school in the 80's. This is from the "Pyromania" album which was big for them!!!
Their "Hysteria" album was HUGE!!!
PLEASE!!! We knew how to party in the 80's!!
Photograph, Fooling, Animals, next please 😜
Please do it’s so easy by Guns N’ Roses
Or, please please do love bites by Def Leppard
Gods of War is my favorite Def Leppard song!! Steve Clark one of the guitarists us truly underated. Sadly he passed away in 1991. Check out Switch 625 for a guitar solo.
Spot on mate
I listened to Def Leppard back in the day and I'm still listening to em'. They're definitely one of a kind.
Listen to Detroit rock city by kiss
We were hardcore bro. Not only did we have hair bands, we had punk rock. I was out with my nephew recently, he wanted to pack it in at 12, I was shocked, nothing gets hot until 2 or 3 am. Come to the dark side....
THAT, young man, was the best reaction to this song. Well done, thank you for this upload.
I was looking for reactions to some of my most influential songs growing up, and I'm so glad I picked your reaction.
This too, was my first exposure to Def Leppard, however, It was 1983, I was 8, and in the 3rd grade.
It was my older brother's vinal. He was the biggest influence, music wise, and Def Leppard being my first favorite rock, but as I grew, my taste got a bit more aggressive (Pantera, Metallica, White Zombie) which turned me into a metalhead later in life. But I have Def Leppard to thank, for my first step in my metalhead journey.
That "Gunter Glieben Glauten Globen" at the beginning of the song, is what caught my young impressionable mind. The phrase means nothing, but oh so much to me. And a Def Leppard fan was born.
Just a bit of knowledge, the phrase is how the producer counted down the band, the band liked it, and kept it in the song.
Thanks again young man.
You but a smile on my face, with your reaction.
Dude, Def Leppard rocks! They ruled the 80’s with their catchy hooks and songs. Keep on listening, you’ll like it!
You can't go wrong with anything from the first 3 Def Leppard albums. When their first album hit the shelves the oldest member of the band was 17. When this song dropped they were still in their teens.
This is untrue. In January 1983 only 1 member of the band was 19, the rest were early twenties.
The song that changed my life forever... First Rock band I had ever heard in 83'. My first album I ever bought!! Hooked for life.....
My mom told me when I was 4 years old, I was obsessed with Def Leppard... I am still and I always be, 🤟🏼 looooove your reaction!!
My teenage yrs❤🎤🎸
They are awesome in concert, seen them six times🥰
80s gurl here... 💜 Def Leppard! One of my most fave bands! Awesome album too! 🎸🎶🎤👍
Photograph, bringing on the heartbreak, pretty much all of hysteria, and fractured love, that’s a good START to Def Leppard.
'You couldn't help but move, you couldn't help but be in a good mood'. That's 80's rock bro. You're gonna love it. Keep playing it, and welcome to the party.
Have to see them in concert. Awesome live. Seen them 7 times in concert and they never disappoint
One of my favorite memories was this song blaring through the speakers while my 16 year old self sat in a *packed* topless Jeep Wrangler that was cruising town. Everyone played the entire album (on cassette tape) over and over that summer. "Too Late For Love" was another great one to hear while the wind was blowing through your hair on hot summer nights.
hey jojo my young friend, there is an ENORMUS AMOUNT OF TOP QUALITY MUSIC LIKE THIS OUT THERE. im over 65 years of age and had this music deep in my life. YOU WILL HAVE AGED INTO YOUR GREY HAIR DAYS TO HAVE HEARD IT ALL. ENJOY THE RIDE.
There's so much about "old" music that you still haven't grasped. You're still a babe in the woods when it comes to good music. Barely scratching the surface & surprised by everything.
Def Leppard is a British Heavy Metal band. They could also be classified as a Hard Rock band. They had a lot of hit records and music videos during the 1980s and early-1990s. The group are inductees in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
actually they're not heavy metal and they are classified as hard rock (by most, some people get it wrong because of the first two albums. def leppard themselves say that theyre not heavy metal and they were never apart of that wave)
@@musicmedicne Yep, they are definitely not heavy metal and hated being called hair metal. They have always said they were a rock band.
"This guitar solo is alright"........dude that's Steve Clark, one of the coolest guitar players ever. The guy just oozed cool and attitude
Def Leppard is an all time favorite rock band! TONS of hits!
Oh yeah! Music of my youth! We danced our butts off! You're just skimming the surface...70s and 80s had the most incredible music.... keep going on your journey!
You know what it's doing to your ears it is giving them good music
