- In this exclusive video, we compare the brand new Honda Elevate with the segment leader Hyundai Creta to find if the Japanese compact SUV has what it takes to offer tough competition to the top-seller. To make it as fair as possible, we have compared the 1.5L NA CVT versions of both the vehicles. At the first sight, it may appear that the Elevate lacks features but it's actually neck and neck compared to Creta 1.5 SX (0) IVT. While the IVT may offer the ventilated seats and electrically-adjustable deriver seat, the Elevate on other other hand offers more functional features like Tilt & telescopic adjustable steering wheel and ADAS level 2 on its top-trim. The only thing that needs to be seen yet is the pricing of Elevate, if they price it as good as the Creta, we believe Honda might have a solid chance of doing really well in the segment.

There is no comparison...Elevate would compete with VW and Skoda not with Hyundai or Kia ...so real comparison would be between German siblings and Honda...please keep Hyundai away
I really love Elevate interior design. The colour combination and design looks elegant.
It's good to see that Elevate also has the same DNA as other Hondas like great ride and handling and great steering, safety, etc.

Honda elevate is more involving and engaging to ride. For a mature buyer elevate would be the pick. But creta has more features and polarising design that can attract new buyers who are not very much experienced with the driving dynamics....
Honestly the Creta rides worse than my Honda City from 2008, by some margin.

Great comparison! Being a BRV user (city and many long drives), I can totally relate to the ride, handling, cornering that Honda chasis inspires! 121 PS engine mated to the 7 step CVT is just out of the world. Not to mention the paddle shifters, which bring a completely different level of engagement, when one is in the mood.
If priced right, Elevate has the potential to out do Creta and Seltos.
Ofcourse, credit where due, the interiors of the Seltos and Creta are quite exquisite.
So, it would all boil down to better looking interiors vs a great handling car. And many times, these two dimensions are decided by two different set of people in the family, if you get the drift .... 🙂

Being a Honda City 5th Gen ZX CVT owner, Elevate anyday. You can't beat a Honda engine refinement and the pleasure of driving!!
How would you compare Honda MT with CVT..I own a city MT planning to upgrade to CVT for both city and highway driving...How is the pickup and response of CVT?
@@sparshnigam9500 Being a driving enthusiast I would anyday prefer MT but considering the traffic in Mumbai, CVT is more convenient. There is definitely a rubber band effect if you suddenly put the gas pedal to the metal, but if you accelerate smoothly it's hardly noticeable.

@@sparshnigam9500 It does. You can control the up shifts to a great extent with the paddle shifters keeping the drive selector in S mode.

I think Honda's Plan is to make the Nexon, Venue and Sonet buyers to upgrade to their entry-level Elevate variants instead of putting Elevate against Creta and Seltos. Honda cleverly put just enough features to compete with the segment below and if they price it right, it will force customers who are shopping a segment below to upgrade by paying more. For people with more cash to spend, the new Seltos is soo good to pass on.
If you compare the top-end CVT of both the cars, Elevate is equally loaded. In fact it also offers ADAS level 2 that isn’t there on Creta yet.
Pricing will be very close to Creta and Seltos

If they keep the pricing just right below the premium segments of Creta/Seltos, then Elevate may be a solid choice for 1.5NA engines segment. If the top model of Elevate reached 20 lakhs then game over. If they manage to keep the costs under 17 lakhs then it may be solid options for 1.5NA segment.
This car will be a problem for Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun, As there is no reason left to go with Skoda, VW when you have Elevate as option, Refined engine, good looks, and this car built on honda city plateform, so safety rating will be 4 or 5 star.
No reason left for 1.0 TSI yes...Skoda VW 1.0 are doomed for sure now...but still there's 1.5 Turbo for enthusiasts..ventilated seats.,better millage, plus assured tested and certified safety with the latest norms, better sheet metals, paint and exterior quality... elevate's exterior sheet metal, doors look very compromised!
And 4 cms more ground clearance than kushaq and taigun , it does make differance
Biggest problem is Kushaq and Taigun don't look like SUVs, they look like hatchbacks

I like that honda is keeping things traditional with the headlights..... Not the newer styles of separate drl at top and headlamp cluster in bottom
Without memory seats, electric adjustments, and manual adjustments , both are the same. Actually, you can find a precise seating position manually faster than electric. If electric seats are given, then memory function is a must-have logically. Otherwise, both are some what same.
Cvt will be best choice or consider MT which one will you suggest for durability

I wish honda elevate bahut bike aur next year honda micro suv segment me bhi car launch kare. Middle class will have more options in that segment.
Honda's EPS is really good but still a notch below Ford EPS. I have always felt that when swapping between my Honda & Ford cars.

I Would have bought Elevate if i hadn't bought Honda City recently. But Whatever it is mentioned about ride and handling about Elevate, i can relate that bec City provides very good comfort. Honda is always better choice. My next car could be elevate facelift may be after 3-4 yeras 😂

Could not care much about features like a panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats. I never use them in my current cars anyway. Honda looks like the more reliable package.

I am still disappointed that they didn’t offer their competent strong hybrid engine with this one. That would have been a game changer. But I tested the NA for what it is, and came out rather impressed. 😊
@@ICN Absolutely. Their cost consideration of CBU hybrid engines makes them jump directly to EV version in 2026. But for NA engine, I'm glad that you gave a detailed review and comparison. Thanks, sir. Many of my doubts are clear now.

The Kushaq and Taigun are known for their superior handling and stability in their segment. I used to own a Honda, but now I own a VW car.In terms of safety, the fourth-generation Honda City scored 4 stars in safety ratings, while VW and Skoda models achieved a 5-star rating in global and Latin NCAP tests.
As for the fifth-generation Honda City, it hasn't been tested yet.
Elevate is on the same city 5th gen platform

Also Seltos aur elevate mai kiska resale value Jyada milega? Elevate jaisa ki maine test drive li hai manual mai bahut sound kar rahi hai hills par. Elevate aur Seltos mai Kisme jyada average milega? Elevate base model Rs. 12.50 LAKH aur Seltos Base Model 12.16 LAKH ka mil raha hai. Kaunsa lena chahiye? Ek middle person ke liye Kaunsi gaadi worth it. Please reply asap.

I have watched mostly all automobile reviewers, but you stand apart. You don't just blabber out specs and styling which is just obvious. You give more insight and info that actually matters. So kudos for that...great job. As for Elevate, the final piece is the pricing. Get it right, under cut the competition and you have a winner.
More fair comparison should have been with latest updated seltos ivt with ADAS. Creta is old now and already due for update.

Hello... You've no where said about Honda elevate LANE ASSIST CHANGE CAMERA on both sides.... That is the best offered too no one offers....... And also ADAS is not a VERY REQUIRED THING in India since everyone will not use it due to Indian traffic in cities too
Majority of people buy 2nd base models when it comes to cars no matter the segment... Pricing of 2nd base model of cars will be deciding factor and knowing city had ADAS(Honda sensing) from 2nd base, it's safe to say elevate might also get it...
as confirmed by times of india.. ADAS is only available with top model elevate ZX

Just for ride quality benchmark, my 2008 Honda City rides better than the Creta even now, especially on the bump and pothole impacts and body roll. I wonder how the Elevate compares.

By looking at the two car's ground clearance why does it look the same?
Is the Honda Elevate's ground clearance of 220mm is only in paper or is it in practical?
Elevate should have stand higher than creta as it has has 220mm of GC compared to 190mm of creta but looks the same.
GC is the lowest part of the car and Elevate isn't very high but the underbody is very smooth with no undulating surfaces which most cars have.
