    At walmart they sell some paint remover in a spray can for 10$ and it will take it down to raw. I have used it and watched the paint bubble and just fall off of it . Factory paint jobs are tougher to remove. Whacking things with a hammer for a little gentle push is ok do it all the time . Can't thank you enough for the time you take in making these videos. Up in these cold New England months working on my boat with you keep showing these killa mods has kept me from going insane . Rewired the whole the whole boat improved on already existing mods. I am running a 97 lowe roughkneck with center console and built in livewell and decks already there. Just waiting on the vinyl wrap to wrap the boat with. thanks again for your dedication to the small things that matter .

    Very nice synthetic transom build! I seriously considered Coosa board for my transom replacement but ended up going with 1" Starboard. The weight savings with Coosa would have been nice as starboard is very heavy....Good video once again👍

    should be using aluminum screws on aluminum boat. stainless hardware will cause boat to corrode. The old transom was the cause of corrosion because it was treated plywood. Only use untreated on aluminum.

    Watched another fill the space between the Coosa and the transom with epoxy, clamp and bolt into place and the epoxy would fill the random holes that are a nuisance. Sand flat and then paint. Like you said, it would definitely be the last transom install for the boat.

    Mines black in green I like gloss dark hunter green for the boat outside then a satin black for the inside

    Why make it square, short on size, and not the entire dimension of the transom?

    Mike did you mean to say resin to hardener in a 5:1 mix rather than a 50:50 mix? If not that could be the reason why it's not setting properly (recommended ratio is 5:1)

      West System 105 (epoxy resin and hardener) is metered out by special pumps that come with it. It’s 1 pump of resin per 1 pump of hardener. Now the hardener that is used will varying the drying time. It’s good stuff!

      @@TinyBoatNation The West System pumps are calibrated so 1 stroke of the hardener pump is 1/5 the volume of the resin pump to give the recommended 5:1 ratio (rather than 50/50), as long as you used the correct pump for each. The hardener pump is quite a bit smaller than the resin pump. With correct ratio the epoxy should feel completely dry to the touch within hours. Another possible cause for residual stickiness is incomplete mixing where you get pockets of unmixed resin and pockets of unmixed hardener. Make sure you scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing pot when mixing to incorporate all the resin into the mix. Keep up the good work! I've learned a lot from your videos!

      @@TinyBoatNation i just checked on the next size down which is .5x48x37.5 i believe, and its 135 for the sheet and 15 for the shipping. Thats a HUGE difference in price for roughly 10 inches!

    Waste of time with resin. Thats why you buy coosa board. No resin needed.

      Both Boat Outfitters and the Coosa company recommend using something to bind the sheets together.
