    Great video man. I own a 2012 fiat 500pop that I bought back in 2013 and it now has 99100 miles. These cars seem to burn oil and pcv valve goes bad often too, that would also be a good video to show. I just changed my spark plugs and pcv valve today and was thinking about changing the oil myself for the first time but didn't know where to start which is how I came across your video. I think I will buy the engine cleaner and run it and then just take it 3 minutes up the road to have the oil changed. This way it gets cleaned and I won't have to worry about recycling the waste oil etc and it will be faster than me doing this part. Thanks for the great tips on how to prolong engine life. I will definitely be adding those to my maintenance routine tomorrow. It is a really good and fun car to drive when it's properly maintained by responsible owners.

      My PCV valve went bad around 60,000 miles too. I replaced the spark plugs at the same time too. I’ll probably replace the spark plugs and coils again soon due to rough starts that will stall without giving it a little gas. Otherwise, I really love the Fiat 500 and MultiAir engine. My only complaint is how they retrofit the doors to pass American safety standards - which makes the doors too heavy and they will always close on me unless fully extended (which is too wide for a typical parking space).

    • @seanwieland9763
      @seanwieland9763 Před rokem

      @@sheentvlive7698 technically you’re supposed to drain the used oil, replace it with basic oil (e.g. Shell Rotella T6 5W-40) and add the LiquiMoly Engine Flush to that. Then idle the engine with the flush. Then empty the oil again, and replace it with the good oil you plan on keeping in the engine (e.g. LiquiMoly Molygen). It’s also not a bad idea to replace the MultiAir actuator (68189847AA) filter after about 80,000 miles too.

    • @TheNortheastAl
      @TheNortheastAl Před 4 lety +2

      EJ'S GARAGE the dealership uses bulk oil from a drum and may not have even used the proper weight oil for a Fiat. I don’t trust dealerships all that much. They are not like a good independent shop or as good as doing it yourself.

    • @ejsgarage
      @ejsgarage  Před 4 lety +1

      That is very true. I bought $39,000 Chevy SS and they gave me 4 free oil changes. I went to have it done and they were going to give semi synthentic drum oil! I was furious and I asked them to put synthetic and they said, that will cost you $95.

    • @TheNortheastAl
      @TheNortheastAl Před 4 lety

      EJ'S GARAGE one thing I’ve found out is that they will use the weight of oil that is for the newest car of the brand they sell even for an older car. They just don’t care because most people never ask what is being put in their car. When you DIY, you know exactly what is being used in your car.

    when I performed this routine (Oct., 2022) on my 2012 Fiat 500 Lounge (56,000 mi.s), I had lots of white smoke come out of the tailpipe with the liquimoly engine flush in the old oil. I ran it for 10 minutes and turned off the engine. I drained the old oil (with the liquimoly in it) and replaced it with Amsoil synthetic. Of course, I changed the filter. Upon starting, I was still getting smoke. After driving it, it seems the smoking has stopped, but I'm not sure if it's 100% stopped. It's cold here (in New Jersey) now.
