I understand this isn’t a gaming oriented channel but thermal management and cooling are as important as the processor. Another CZcamsr mentioned that the V2 couldn’t even complete a graphics stress test due to overheating.

@@AverageDadOfficial Yes, both are great, that's why I bought both, I'm using the fold3 because the v2 is not yet compatible with Google Play and I didn't like the experiences with the gbox

The xiaomi's outer display is spec'ed at 2600nits so actually sightly higher, and one thing to mention possibly, is that the xiaomi's displays are sumsung E6 displays, and they support Dolby Vision, so great for HDR content that supports it.
But hey that's minor details
One question is which phone feels like higher build quality on the hand? I heard one reviewer says that the honor feels lower flimsier compared to the xiaomi, what do u think?
I feel the difference for the pwmd especially when looking at my vi ô screen and my honor screen, the honor screen is more pleasant despite the lower resolution and PPi
I Wana get the mix fold 3 but over $1500 for the 512 is spendy plus it may be not compatible with all of my carrier TMobile bands.

Scissors I'm still leaning towards the V2 just because I can't afford it but can get it on contract apparently it will only be available in the UK through the three network. don't take this as gospel but three have pushed Honor in the past and accordingto the salesperson in my local store they are the exclusive supplier of Honor phones in the UK

Missing native Google services and overall smaller size for Honor is no go for me. However, after Xiaomi this is my second place foldable this year.
Is it not possible to install the playstore apk on the V2?

I am a Xiaomi fan. I still have the Mi Max 3 and several Xiaomi devices. Unfortunately, I think that a foldable phone should be also a productivity device and the lack of stylet pen support on the Mi Mix Fold 3 is a big downside for me. The Honor Magic V2 has it but doe not have wireless charge, photo hardware is not as good as Mi Mix 3 ad it seems sometimes become too hot (do you have this issue when trying a benchmark on the phone?). Hoping Honor would have the Ultimate Edition in purple color. I hope Honor UK will sell the ultimate edition as well. I hesitate to wait for the next gen or bite on the Honor Magic V2.
Exactly purple PU would look so great with gold accents. I am waiting for OnePlus Open TBH currently Honor V2 is the most likely my next phone.

do you know if either of these phones are ok to use in the rain? or if they will break if they got wet in my pocket because of the rain? I think there isn't an official IP rating for either, but maybe they have at least some protection?
No official ratings but all phones are tested for splash resistance and rain.

Ok after fully watching video you answered my question about google mobile services. So I guess I'll just wait for the V2 global next year. And I'll pick up OnePlus Open when it comes out. Oh by the way Scissors can cut paper but can't beat a rock! #scissors
I prefer my 3 years old 300grams Huawei mate x2. No other fold have a flagship camera with 10x optical zoom except the x2. And even the newest Huawei x3 doesn't have the same amazing screen crease wise!! I don't know how Huawei made this phone but it still have atleast 2 years till others catch up
Any ideas if the Mix Fold 3 is going to be Android Audo compatible down the line? I really want a book-style fold with wireless charging and Android auto, but EVERY SINGLE ONE omits at least one of these, or is a stupidly expensive and crease-burdened Samsung.

Mi Mix Fold 3 would be just as light and thin as the Magic v2 without the 1mm wireless charging. Considering the larger footprint that's impressive.

If you had to cut these phones in half with scissors which has the more obvious crease? Also looked from the video that when more than half opened the xiaomi had more of a tendency to fall over and honor had more of a weaker flopping open hinge is this the case?
Basically the same crease! the hinge is stronger on the mix fold but V2 is still great

I felt the same when watching honors global release video, was like this is awsome when can I get it... Oh next year by which time mwc will be upon us and there will be a raft of new foldables with refinements in every area, I'll have one if them instead.... That is until I found average dad who taught about wonda mobile and giving confidence to have a Chinese Rom in uk, hopefully can get then use and wait until the global Rom

The xiaomi mix fold 3 has an outer display brightness of 2600 nits, not 1800.

Both of these phones are coming in heavier than the manufacturers say. The leather magic v2 is actually the lightest version and is supposed to be 231g. The carbon mix 3, again the lightest version, is supposed to be 255g. Is your scale right or do these manufacturers just stretch the truth?

the phones have inner and outer screen protectors... phones weighed prior to these being installed.
weights are 100% accurate
@flexakuma - The manufacturers are stretching the truth. I read an article recently, about how Xiaomi fudged the numbers on the weight of the Mix Fold 3, so they could advertise it at a lighter weight than what it actually is. ⚖

with leather is supposedly 231 g

Not sure if you have a point here but 231-237g is basically the same!! it is the lightest foldable in the world... what more do you want?

I really dont like vegan leather on phones tbh - I always fear it might end up looking ugly and filthy when being used for 1-2 years
