Can't wait for UK / global release as I need the proper working Google services rather than cloud versions etc.
I've had imported devices and as good as the work around is.. Its just not the same as having Google actually on it out of box
Pretty sure we will need to wait for another 5-6 months before we can see a Magic V2 with native Google support.

Have to say, first worked around using gbox, but other than me being afraid for security, now having Google on my V2, actually makes no difference in user experience.

I bought my honor magic V2 from Wanda mobile and the second software update gave me Google Play services and I have added Google to my account on this phone. I am going to try to download without using G-Box and see how it goes.

I also had gboard working from the first few minutes of having the phone. I think maybe it was through the native app store, or apk. Not through gbox. Works an absolute treat, and splits too

Could you do me a solid and check if the always On display works in lets call it laptop mode? I use my fold 2 as a alarmclock next to my bed in that orientation! I do thrust the kick stand if i bump it 😂

as a video editor on s23 ultra and now on honor magic v2 when it releases to India ill buy do u feel the crease when u touch it or will the crease become a problem in video editing especially when playing with the timeline scrubbing etc?
@AverageDad - Based on your reviews, I have the Xiaomi Fold (from Wanda!) and really like it. Do you think it's worth upgrading to the V2 when it has native Google Services or would you stick with Xiaomi (I'm in the U.S.)? I'm a phone addict so the itch to change is always there, haha. Headphones.

I have the honor magic V2 in the United States. My second software update included Google Play services and I actually have Google that I can add to my account and I have gboard from the very beginning. My only problem was getting another Network to work on my phone and I am heading to T-Mobile today to get a SIM card that works for this phone.

I didn't apply for the beta program as it was already over before I even knew about it. I did ask Wonda mobile to reach out and see if they could help me but I never heard back from them. They did attempt for me but then I never heard back. But the second software update from honor had the Google Play services on it.

@@shadowfallenable that update should come automatically from honor. At least that is what happened for me. It is not like having GMS but it is better than nothing. Can't wait for the global roll out.

This is a crucial feature for me because I use it for work, where I need this funktion to open menus with pointing and select submenu with touching like on Fold 3,4,5. while taking notes does the crease in the middle hinder or become annoying?i m a student and an artist i dont want to get hindered while taking notes or sketching by the crease in the middle so does it bother?also does it have essential feature of s23 ultra where it does text conversion to normal handwriting after u have done taking notes on the screen?

Oh.. Honestly, and I had to watch it again, the pen software, seems to be a bit more evolved in allot of ways, even compared to the Samsung devices..

That feature alone sets this device apart and above, from "any" foldable, including the ZF5..
I'm just wondering about the Vs2 tomorrow.. That Gen 1 snapdragon, I don't know dude.. We'll see though tomorrow.. I'm having a tough time between the ultimate and getting a less expensive, and then buying the pen separately(sourced it already)..
Can you add/ delete files(say music and video files) without the Honor ID? That would be the only show stopper for me.. Thanks for the reply and awesome content as always..
I’m not going to lie, that Mix Fold is legit. But Magic is great too, the pen is cool. But it is a damn shame none of the foldables come with headphones.

Just received mail via French Honor site, to join beta testing Magic V2. Would probably not work, because i live in the Netherlands. Nice to know though, that something is happening with the phone in Europe😊
As an artist, I used to carry both iphone and iPad for daily use. Thats why for me Honor Magic V2 is the best choice (a foldable with pen support). I wonder if Oppo Find N3 also has pen support like N2.
The Oneplus has a stylus menu in settings so watch this space!
what might be good is if you can use the lint cloth to wipe down the device's screen for grease and dust before you create videos for them haha Could make the devices look so much more appealing.

Thanks average Dad. Watched this on my new honor magic v2 arrived Monday. Amazing bit of kit. Coming from z fold 3 and using for business could not go back to a normal slate phone. So after smashing my screen came across your videos after researching the Chinese phones. I actual prefer some of the software compared to Samsung. Took me a few hours setting phone up and getting rid of bloatware. I use message shortcuts a lot to message customers so this is something could not get to work with Chinese keyboard. So installed SwiftKey, the Google message app and now phone works almost exactly same as any other android you would buy from the UK. Samsung must be paying to dominate the market as this phone is in a different league.

You didn't show us the most important part, how the multitasking part is on both those foldables especially CZcams.
I don't like headphones but I also don't like earbuds! I think you will find that even if you don't have a global version of the honor magic video that when you update your software you should have the Google Play services and that will allow you to add the Google account to the phone. I am going to try to download apps without G-Box. I will let you know how it goes! We all love your videos and we enjoy your honest but very relaxed video style.

On software, I heard some Chinese ROMs have an issue with delayed notifications. Is that a case for Honor? Also can you split screen 2 games and play at the same time? I've seen some phones will freeze the 2nd app when you start using the 1st app even when split screen.

headphones, thanks, I don't think the HMV2 is M3F killer because of the software. Stylus looks interesting, but I tried the early Samsung S-pen and didn't use it very much. So I would not buy because of the Stylus. I am interested in the 1+O comparison with the M3F when you get it.

Yes exactly. google mobile services is not supported on V2.. it is on all other devices (apart from Huawei)

I originally wanted the v2, then I heard all the bad after sales services, like maintenance takes,4 to 8 weeks , and the screen cracking itself and all , it turned me off
