- G'day, you mob! Today, I unbox a bunch of rare aroid, cacti and succulent plants that just arrived in the mail. They include various species of cactus and a species of Agave and Philodendron.

During the rona someone dumped off kittens & the mom at a empty college! I took home 2 kittens a coworker took the 3rd kitten & I never caught the mom only saw her for a second. So sad that somebody just left them but the kitty’s are safe just wish I could’ve caught the mom.
Yeah, pretty heartbreaking for the mum but at the same time the kittens will get an amazing life :D
Yeah you got me, I just bought an Old Man of the Andes cactus for my first one and have my eye on several more to get when it warms up here. My husband says it's your fault I'm getting into those now, I said I got it to keep him away from my plants on the windowsill. He won't get close enough to knock them over if he's afraid they'll stab him. 😆

I was watching next to my four year old who was working on a puzzle. He's not paying attention at all until "kill a kitten," and he just stops what he's doing and stares at the screen all wide-eyed. Silence for like a whole 5 seconds while he processes. Lolol.
Hahaha my bad... I have to remember to probably control my language and stories as some people watch with kids nearby :D Hope he's not too scarred haha

Those Trichocereus get some huge colorful flowers. That's why there are so many hybrids. That's a lovely haul💚🌵💚

Every time you say Trichocereus I'm expecting you to say Pachanoi next. Maybe one day ;) Pachanoi and Lophophora are my favourite cactus

I have a few cacti on my list, a Monkey Tail cactus, a Boobie cactus and a Spiral cactus. I already have a Old Man cactus and he needs a few friends .
Recently the Gymnocalycium Mihanovichii Variegata also caught my eye but hopefully i can buy one in person or maybe choose a specific plant online, i saw a few dark green and red that looked stunning.
Oh nice! Yeah the mix is so nice compared to the normal full red, orange, or purple ones.

I love cacti but am into nepenthes and other carnivores atm. And still, of course, aroids and hoya. So only got a few cacti and succulents (check the stapelia and related species, weird and wonderfull blooms)
Oh very cool! Any suggestions re: beautiful nepenthes to look for? I've got one, though, I think I'm underwatering it a little as its pitchers are drying up a little too fast.

I’ve been dealing with spider mites in my collection for MONTHS and it’s an absolute nightmare! I’d much rather have thrips 😂

Hey Pete... really enjoy your down to earth content .... could you please tell me what product/s you use for getting rid of spidermites and fungus gnats
Hey Donna, no worries. I use Rose Gun (from Bunnings) as it's an insecticide + fungicide all in one. For fungus gnats I use Tanlin (1 drop per 2L) in my nutrient solution (Hydroponics store or online) and if I get an outbreak, I get Raid Insecticide plugs (they go into your electric outlets) and blast the room for 10 days (They're from the supermarket or bunnings).
Gotta love Bunnings (my son works there so I score a mummy discount haha 😄)
Zebras are like 50€ in EU. Size is like a M plant....

Yeah, already got a greenhouse outside set up. I'll have to do a tour in the future :D

How often will those cacti need watering?
Depends on the season and whether or not they're dormant, but during summer, probably once every week at least.
