It's like Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, Blue Oyster Cult all in one, Waller is like a Billy Gibbons and Hendrix jam session on the guitar, the lyrics from a Police song are rearranged in a Phil Lynott style hard rock cadence, this is real progressive rock. Manfred Mann is a genius for compositions of this nature
Saw this magnificent and legendary band just two concerts before this one in Karl Diem Halle in Wurzburg, GE Circa 1983. Waaaaoooo. The Demolition man!
I thought up the exploding speaker cabinet and cooked up the failing guitar routine with Manfred. I was also the 'roadie' pretending to fix the guitar. We ran through it several times in production rehearsals and, when we left to do the tour, Dave Ed, the monitor engineer said, 'Hey Roy, Is that fucking guitar going to break down in that song every night?' I also dressed up to be the robot that introduces 'Blinded'. Great fun that tour. I get a credit on the live album for 'backline and acting'

I also spot a very short nod to B.B. King on the free-form guitar part.
Wherever you are you are Mr.Waller. What a musical man u was.RIP
