  • This short prelude was composed by Theodor Friese, a German organist and composer (1813-1852). Unfortunately, I have not been able to find out any other information about this composer.
This piece is one of many short pieces in Heinrich Bungart's Praeludien Album, which is freely available for download on IMSLP.org.
The sample set is taken from a small organ found in a village church in a district of Braunschweig, Germany. It has 14 stops, most of which are 8'. The organ has apparently remained largely unaltered since being built in the 19th century and is typical of organs of this type and era.
    Sample set by Pipeloops.

Another full-baked performance that set the mood for me - I was transported back (through memories) to the church of my younger years. Many thanks for your artistry!
