  • In this video we follow the two-year progression of this Korean hornbeam. The tree still needs to be developed further (it needs a nicer pot and finer ramification) so make sure to subscribe so you'll see its future videos as well.

I really wish Korean hornbeams were more vigorous growers - it'll take 20+ years before that tree has any substantial thickness in the trunk.

Well that depends a lot on where you live :) We have a page on our site with store locations (if you google bonsai stores or something you'll see it on bonsaiempire.com)

I don't mean to be rude but I wouldn't waste my time with stock like that.

Good to know, will you refer us to your channel so we know what kind of bonsai stock is worthy of your time?

What? When i first started bonsai, i didn't have a billion dollars to buy stock and still don't so I grown my own. I have learned so much from his channel and site over the years. The tree is looking great, Oscar. FYI, Iwashide/ Korean Hornbeam do tread graft quite well. Personally, I like to wrap the branch with THIN grafting tape before insertion so i dont knock off any buds and lightly score the part that meets the trunk. That crossing branch would have worked well. Keep kicking ass Oscar!

@@bonsaiempire Maybe I didn't phrase my point properly. Love your work. I'm amazed at all the larger, yamadori stuff you work on and show. Personally I'm not into the little stuff. Looks like lots are.👍
