    It's not beautiful if it dies. The live tree is the beauty. The most beautiful Bonsai are decades and centuries old. We are paying for the beauty and longevity of the living tree. The beauty of the creation means nothing if it does not endure time.

    • @samlomb2093
      @samlomb2093 Před 3 dny

      on the other hand everything dies, trees get restyled, so all beauty is fleeting and that is part of what makes it so precious.

    Glad to see your hand is healing up so quickly. For double trunk trees, to bend in consistent lines is excellent. It works for conifers, would it work for maples too?

    Always lots to learn from your videos, thanks for making them!
    Question: When you split a trunk, does it matter in which way you bent it in relation to the split?

    • @brucejeffcott1104
      @brucejeffcott1104 Před 3 dny

      Yes, you want the two halves to slide. So if you are looking at a tree (without moving the tree) and want to bend it left or right you would be able to see the split.

    I've been into bonsai for three years now, and in general I love nature. Lately I've been 'struggling' with the fact that when making bonsai, you're really hurting the tree. Now as we know, plants live, feel and even scream when being cut down. Is bonsai plant care or are you just doing the same thing the government is doing to people, grooming us to look the way they like ?

    Double trunk literati is very beautiful, you inspired me to try my own bonsai. I am working on ficus benjamina because it is very easy for beginners and in the process I am learning that patience is very important cos trees grow in their own pace. 🪴😊
