1957 Parilla Lusso Veloce. Close up of this beautiful Parilla Lusso displayed at the VME Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts show in Seattle. "Close up view".
The Parilla was one of the many motorcycle manufacturers that sprung up after World War 2. Parilla motorcycles were very well engineered with many innovative features, and before long many were modified for racing. Parilla also built GP race bikes, scooters, and stationary engines.
Giovanni Parilla selected the Greyhound for his company's logo, one of the world's fastest animals. The indigenous Italian greyhound is a small but rapid creature, and no doubt this was the intention with Parilla's 1957 175 models.

That's my bike! I never know when it will pop up on the internet. The bike started out as a 1960(?) 175 "Speedster" (the USA name for it). When I got it, there was not much left. The only useable parts were the frame, forks, hubs and one toolbox. The motor was rusted solid. 10 years of collecting parts. Since I was starting with nothing, I decided to build the bike into an Italian market Lusso Veloce. Jim Sullivan in Idaho restored the bike from parts and even created a faring from scratch based on 3 factory pictures. The greyhound on the fender is actually a Harley accessory from the late 40's. It works great on this bike.

Great to meet you!! I LOVE YOUR BIKE. It is gorgeous. You did a lot of work and it shows. I love how detailed everything is and looks better than new. The greyhound idea is excellent. Are you going to show it again in Seattle any time soon? I would love to see more photos of your bike (and other motorbikes if you have more) over at facebook.com/groups/MotoTouringWorldWide

During the day Saturday, I'm riding my Honda ST1300 via the Ferry over the Bremerton. Time to enjoy this weather some more.
Take care and have a great weekend. ❤🤙🏍
