    I ride a ST1300 (among others in my garage) and I am familiar with the Pan wobble. A side note- I used to race 750 SuperSport in Colorado MRA (several tracks) with a best finish as 3rd in a national race. I am absolutely impressed on your ride that the fast lap video shows and it is really like that (except the other riders are competing in an actual race) and willing to bump you if necessary. Keep up the videos. Love to see them.

      Hello and thank you for watching 🙋‍♂️. Your 750 Super Sport is definitely a classic ride ❤️. Congratulations on your success on the racetrack 🤙🤙.
      My time on the racetrack was pretty rewarding for me. I used to race and work for the Gebardt BMW racing team back in 1990 and loved it. Life continues and then stuff happens such as my stroke.
      I was still recovering in this video with my ST1300 to try to fulfill some dreams I had. (Life is too short) I didn't want to say "I wish I would have,, I wish...
      So my track time was self-fulfillment and was pretty much a sweaty task with a 750 lb bike wet plus my 220 lb ass,, LOL, made it tough. Plus my pegs were too low and scraping.
      I agree some real competitive track time would get "bumpy".
      Thanks again for watching and have a great weekend ❤️🤙🏍️

    That was awesome! Totally surreal to listen to what has to be the quietest and most soothing gentle wind noise ever on a race track up front lol, then a beautiful V-4 burble at the back. Fascinating. In all these years I've never heard or seen anything but stock mufflers on one of these machines. (I once took the mufflers off my '82 CX500Turbo to see what it sounded like- ugh, horrible, hee hee.) Great riding, and a beautiful Track!

Also top box wobbles are not to be ignored. I typically don’t ride with the top box because of that but on touring it’s worth it for convienience.

      @@MotoTouringWorldWide Awesome. I took mine up to Vancouver and Nanaimo island with my top-box and yes it’s scary. I limited my top speed to 80MPH to keep in the safe zone (I was touring and not racing!!). Really enjoyed ferrying the bike over to Nanaimo and going down to Victoria. Overall it was a fantastic vacation up the West Coast going up HWY 1 in CA (from San Francisco), through OR and WA and up. The bike is perfect for all weather and the main mod I have done is heated seat and a throttlemeister + 12V outlet for a heated vest/gloves if I need. Want to do an Alaska trip someday from SF Bay area. Nice long loop through WY and up through Canadia !! Have fun and stay safe and warm.

      @@pentachronic ,,, if you go down my list of videos you will see some cool rides through British Columbia up north of Whistler, to Hell's Gate to Harrison Hot Springs.. The Horseshoe Bay Area is also gorgeous. Those were some amazing motorcycle rides. I also have the throttlemeister which works great. My heated gloves and shoes work off of a battery that will keep my hands and feet warm for about 6 hours and that's about it.
      I did experience some pan wobbling with that top box on but it didn't hit me until after 120 mph. However those are one-off and that's not normal I just keep it between 80 and 90 on the freeway but through Canada and I take it easy. You've done some pretty amazing rides. I also did the Oregon coastline and made some videos on that too and I really really like the Oregon coastline.
      End of the year I'm probably shipping my bike to Northern Germany and then I'm going to ride it down to Austria and ride throughout Europe next year and probably permanently stay and just live in each country for 2 or 3 months a year. However the best motorcycle rides ever or through the Alps. It's so magical and amazing and there's thousands of touring bikes everywhere to the top of the mountains throughout the Swiss and Austrian Alps and Northern Italy to amazing restaurants and cafes on top of the mountains. Such an amazing lifestyle ❤️🤙🏍️

    • @MotoTouringWorldWide
      @MotoTouringWorldWide  Před rokem +2

      Hello Burnt GrillZ, thanks again for watching. Note that the death wobble is rare and can happen if you have the top box on and you do not have a passenger. I have experienced it a few times on high speed runs. However with the top box removed such as seen on the racetrack there is No death wobble, does not exist. Majority of The reasons why the death wobble even exists is when the wind goes over the windshield and your body,, the wind comes back together and slaps the top box on the left side and on the right side.. It creates a slapping effect left right left right left right, which then creates the so-called death wobble.
      At 10:41 in the video you will see the wobble. However it's very rare and you probably won't experience it. The ST1100 or St 1300 are both very good. ❤️🤙🏍️

    • @pentachronic
      @pentachronic Před měsícem

      The Police bikes had a death wobble because they had a shit load of heavy electronics high up in the top box area. They also had aerials that messed with the airflow. The issue is that you need to know how to load a motorcycle. Pack all heavy stuff a low down as possible. Balance both panniers. High stuff raises CoG and makes things less stable.

    I too own a 07, but I am more of a touring guy with occasional rides through the mountain twisties.
    Quick question, are those wind deflectors on the mirrors? Do you have an issue with them popping off way too easily? I lost 3 on cross country rides so far. Hit a hard pot hole, they get loose and hang. Pop them back in, and next thing you know they are gone with the wind. I even replaced all the clips they snap in to and still managed to lose one this summer on a trip from Florida to Maine.

    • @MotoTouringWorldWide
      @MotoTouringWorldWide  Před rokem +3

      Hello MRMRS, thank you for watching. The racetrack sure has been fun and an excellent learning experience. I had to watch the video to see what your issue may be and what you are referencing. I find it odd that you are losing your wind deflectors. My bike came with black defectors and so far zero issues in the last 5 years that I've owned my 2007 ST. I have another video for you to watch and maybe when you see me take the mirrors off within the first 5 minutes of my video you may see a clue. I also will have other angles that might interest you while I put the bike back together. My deflectors are on tight with really tacky 3M double-sided tape. Here is the link to the other video and let me know if it helps. Have a great week and greetings from Seattle: czcams.com/video/rorWDa1d8I0/video.html 🤙🤙🏍🏍

Two years ago when I was traveling at high speeds and a bump in the road, my mirror popped off and it was dangling on the wires. Ever since then I've been performing a little trick of squeezing the spring loaded Clips which you will see my video the last 10 minutes or so. Give it a little squeeze and I hope that works for you. Go to the 27-minute mark and within a minute you will see me squeeze the clips.

      Hello and thank you for watching, the only performance upgrade I have is the booster plug, if you take a look at my video list you will see a video of my daughter and I installing the booster plug. It does give the bike extra top end power, and then a little extra power from closed throttle to open throttle, deceleration backfiring is better than before, overall it's just a small performance gain with the booster plug. I really like it. I also have the aftermarket exhaust from Delkevic. Thanks again for watching. ❤️🏍️🤙

      @@n2rydn781 , I don't have any Dino proof of before and after results or any kind of graph to show horsepower gains. But my best guess is maybe 3 or 4 more horsepower when you go from closed throttle to FULL open throttle. Top speed there is a difference, I noticed on the racetrack I was able to get to 140 mph easier than before. I was able to hit 152 mph with the booster plug and in the past I struggled to get it to 145 mph. And second gear I pulled the front wheel up sometimes which didn't do that before the booster plug.
      Ride safe and have a great weekend. ❤️🏍️🤙

    • @MotoTouringWorldWide
      @MotoTouringWorldWide  Před 3 měsíci

      Hello and thank you for watching 🙋‍♂️🤙. The only power-mods I have on it is the Booster Plug which gives the bike maybe an extra 3 or so horsepower. Top speed on the track before the booster plug was around 145, after the booster plug I got it up to 152. It also only adds extra horsepower when cracking the throttle to full throttle, otherwise daily driving and cruising is exactly the same. I also installed 18 inch Delkevik exhaust (see video). Maybe 1 or 2 horsepower extra and 20 lbs less weight.
      I removed the 4 elbow air intake snorkels from the air filter housing but I don't think it does much other than breathe better. I have a Super Brace for better handling thru the turns and stability.
      And yes my foot pegs SCRAPED horribly through the turns and was very annoying. I've looked for a kit to raise them but I have had no luck.
      I've got plenty of accessories on the bike also.
      Do you also ride and ST Pan-european ?

      Hello and thank you for watching 🙋🏻‍♂️🤙. Great question!! , there really is only 2 modifications on the bike which is the booster plug (only gives it maybe an extra 3 or 4 horsepower at "FULL" throttle. The other modification is the free-flow Delkavic exhaust with baffles removed,, that added maybe a couple horsepower more.
      Top speed on my bike is around 245 - 250 kph.
      On my other video here> czcams.com/video/XrSa8Oswvf0/video.htmlsi=cRngerk12AxbXH7K
      ... Start the video at 15 minutes. You will see me for about 4 minutes chasing the other bike in front of me with the yellow tail. I could not pass him and then towards the end you will see a Honda Repsol pass me and then the race is over and I pack and leave. This is a pretty good video but I was beaten to death and wore out on the track that day (this video was the fourth time on the track that day ). Note that this is not a real race, it is track day and we're out there to have fun. The other two bikes are definitely faster than me.

      Hello Brian, thank you for watching, note that the death wobble is a high-speed wobble that in most "all" cases has to do with a top box installed. If you can visualize the wind going around the windshield, your body, and then coming together and slapping the rear top box. A side slapping left right left right left right it tends to create rear tail side by side slap,,, sort of like the wind fluttering a leaf. Also, visualize the rear tail of an airplane being slapped with wind on the side, it would wag the tail of the plane.... That is way off of what I have heard of and personally experienced which normall also reported by the police department and the state patrol at high speeds.. The issue is that you might need to know how to load a motorcycle properly. Pack all heavy stuff a low down as possible. Balance both panniers (this is important). High stuff raises CoG and makes things less stable. I get no wobble until 100+ mph and then it’s wind. The other thing to look at is your riding position and the windshield. A high windshield can act like a sail. Try lowering it a bit and see how it feels. Play with the height adjustment.
