- Law enforcement officials told lawmakers today that 20 minutes passed between the time Secret Service snipers first spotted Crooks on the roof and the time shots were fired at the former president.

the SS had overall command but the local police were tasked with the security out side of the event.
the roof/ area he shot from was a police staging area.
he had been on the roof looking then went and got his rifle (open carry state) and then went on the roof again.
local PD checked him out and thats when he aimed at PD the officer droped down from the ledge then the shooter shot.
the snipers were covering the PD when the checked on the guy
my big questions are why was trump allowed on stage, why was there no shoot order given before hand (this might be because he had not aimed towards the rally).
@@john1182 Local Police have debunked the SS Directors claims that the Police were inside that building. He stated the SS command orders for the local Police were for crowd control only....NOT security. The local Police were NOT in the building that Cheeto said they were in. He also has the SS orders for the Police, and that no where in those orders were they directed to cover security...only crowd control.

Rally members told local police about the kid on the roof. Secret service & local police did not communicate with each other - big egos on both sides created this.
they did communicate with each other through an open radio line (open to all SS & local L/E) according to the Senate briefing today.

Attendees were screaming that shooter was on the roof prior to shooting. Cheatle will not resign. The roof had a bit of slope don't you know. Cheatle will not resign. Shooter was walking around with a range finder prior and identified as suspect. Cheatle will not resign. WHAT circumstances are need before this woman will resign?
How could Crooks possibly know that rooftop would have no LEOs or Agents on it? Anyone who had gone to prior rallies would know that every rooftop around has officers or agents manning it. This stinks.
Yeah he would've had to know it was not occupied AND not being watched. That second part is something he couldn't possibly know

@@mhxxd4You answered your own question. He knew. It was opened and interference was run for 30 plus minutes for him to get a full 8 shots off.

He may have walked into the building and looked around, who knows? he may have noticed some of the police inside but maybe they didn't notice him. Maybe he picked up a rifle there at the staging area? hard to really know. No drones in use, though.

From reports the day of the shooting: Police told onlookers that "yes, the secret service has been watching him to see what he is doing"....
We also heard that secret service and police had watched him for 30 minutes before they lost him in the crowd.....
WHY wasn't Trump taken to safety until they found out what the guy was doing? Why were they "just watching him?"
The parents of the shooter said he asked his father to let him borrow his rifle to go target shooting, which the father did. Then, apparently when he did not come home in 2 hours, they called police....excuse me, but to me that sounds like they knew he was up to something...because who calls police when your 20 year old son doesn't come home in 2 hours?
No way Trump should have been on that stage when they knew that guy was there and then knew he was on the roof.
I KNOW we will be slammed with fake messages from secret service and FBI and in the end they will claim it is the local police dept's fault....but, I sure hope Trump hires his own security team and soon. I feel STRONGLY there will be a second attempt very soon. Trump had God looking over him this time, but, it was too close.

Walking around suspiciously with a range finder/spotter, and wearing a demolition ranch shirt... unreal
Depending on the state there has also been many a Trup rallies wearing camo and also open carry of course in the outer perimeter only. He technically was in the outer perimeter when all of this happened going back to his car. These newscaster should do better. yeah there were some lax but in the outer perimeter it is not always the Secret Service it is local helping too. They have tons of crowd control to look at and assess. But the timeline has already been discussed, a person of interest with a rangefinder (basically just a scope not a gun - which they need to explain to folks who do not know) is not exactly a weapon by itself. This is also hindsight, shoould he have been followed, how many persons of interest and how many people do they have. I agree, this was beefed up security because of the Iran plot to assassinate so how is this beefed up security and it happened. I am not disagreeing just they need to calm down all the disbelief and shock and just give the news please.

@@micheleconner5083 I heard that he called the local police hours before the shooting to say that his son did not come home as expected and that he had a gun and that he might have committed suicide. If the father suspected he was depressed, then this incident may be primarily a "suicide by cop."
