As a Toronto fan, I miss DeMar. He is such a good player with such a tough praising. and now he is soo underrated because of the whole situation last year.
This was special. Thank you DeMar 💯Love from Toronto
Special is a good way to describe this. Love from America
I absolutely love DeMar's honesty! Very rare do you see an athlete bare his/her soul in this way.
Love this guy🖤 we love you buddy🇨🇦
Demar is so under appreciated
Demar is def one of them players that no one hates
To be real you ain’t lying
Masai would disagree
Murray ayy I love DeMar but ppl hate him coz of his game on the court.
ItzOrangz I mean shit he’s still the best at what he do💯
Kai R33 facts, he’s underrated. really wanna see him go to a team like Detroit or Orlando
Toronto always love you 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Every single word spoken by Demar exudes resilience. Sadly, through struggle we build strength. Thank you for being a testament to that Demar. Empathy of social inequality is the ultimate goal.
Well said
Thanks!
DeMar is a real one 🖤✊🏾💯
I've been a fan of Demar since his days playing with lil Romeo & Master P's AAU team, but his humble yet reflective growth has always been what I've admired about him.✊🏾
Demar a real one he needs a good team around him asap
The spurs are a good team smh, just needs a different system is what I think you mean, he definitely would be the best player if he played in the late 80s early 90s
@@chase6708 if you watch spurs you would saw that they need a center to protect the paint and Aldridge in 4 Murray and derozan at guards they need a forward and couple of bench guys to see their team grow they also trade bretans for Morris and Morris went to new york..i really think it ain't about demar
Not the spurs fault he can’t play defense
@@chase6708 The team is good, but they are inconsistent af. They beat the Bucks, Rockets, Clippers, Raptors, Heat, Celtics, Thunder, Jazz, but they loss to the fucking atlanta 2 or 3 times during the season. I just don't get it
Blunt sugar agreed
We miss you in Toronto Debo.
Thank you Taylor
Your candor is strength. Thank you for being so open and allowing us insight into your life and thoughts. It's very refreshing ☺️
Great guy‼️
Miss you in T.O. DeMar. You're an inspiration for many reasons. Black lives matter! Reconciliation is well overdue!
Fascinating video and huge fan of DeMar - especially his willingness to speak out about mental health. Did feel like much of what was noted by DeMar as far as a culture shock when going to university was more socioeconomic related as opposed to race related but perhaps the two are simply much intertwined in America.
They are. Race and class are tied in many countries around the world.
@@Nomorehats Not as much as backwards America.
This is really emotional
Nice
Demar you da man... Been a fan since you got drafted by the Raps.. they did you wrong for sure but nobody forgets.
Just remember symbolism(kneeling) is easy. If anything is going to change we need to contact our local representatives and get tangible change and if they don’t want to talk we vote them out.
Appreciate you demar for speaking up man. It’s sad we have to live this life as a second class citizen in most situations
How about creating a betting system for inner city athletes (like a lottery). That's right, let's bet [gamble] on some but not all (let the parents decide) athletic kids. Science and math are still important subjects but this part of athletics could be just as useful in a young career. It may give young athletes more drive than a math or English class plus it could raise money that will go to the school system. Teammates could also learn more about working together while learning their academic goals.
✊🏿🙏🏽
We will bridge the gap

Was demar in a gang? Thought I heard it once but not sure. Just wondering because that’s a great transformation and story if he was involved in that and became this successful.
He was and he still is...
he's not. maybe he was when he was a kid(a long time ago he did tweet "i wore blue to school everyday lol", but pretty sure that was a joke...) he was definitely around gang/bad influences but people just say shit like "he was in a gang" cause he's from compton. people act like you must be in a gang if u from compton, shits annoying and racist tbh
manuel bigsosa ahh thank you I thought he was a blood is what I heard but that was probably false. Thanks again
K C interesting... maybe I’ll do some research because I’m hearing split opinions
manuel bigsosa Nevermind yeah it was crip
Used to be an NBA superstar, now he close to being no one
I'm glad this video came out because we don't hear from DeMar a lot, nice to see he's doing good for himself
He was never an superstar and that what happens when you go to San Antonio, you become irrelevant
What u mean by he's close to being no one??.. I guess you don't really watch much basketball. Despite the fact that the spurs are not doing well this season, he's performing incredibly well there..
And for not seeing him often, demar isn't that much into social media, he hardly post, and when he does, he delete them quite often
I won't say no one but the media literally doesn't even address him at all. I don't want people to forget his value. He's really important. It would be terrible to see him become like IT. I don't think that'll happen though but gosh the only way they would talk about is if he said something bad about Kawhi/ Toronto or he scored a billion points lol. He's still really good though, Spurs just haven't been doing well
I think It is not about the race it is about The Who you are and how you raised. Black parents teach their kids that police are scary and don’t cooperate with them. And I think the marijuana and other drugs getting them in trouble too. Also shooting police makes them dangerous. It is much more dangerous in Oakland than Seattle. Why is that? I’m Mongolian. I’m in the US for ten years and it is just how it looks to me. I’m not racist and I hate Chinese people but I know very nice and cool Chinese people too. Every race have tall and short people.
Dan Ny smdh Black parents don’t teach that ! And Marijuana lol 😂 just relax man and enjoy your the ride
Skyy Hawk I saw a video that black parents laughing and saying that to their child and make him cry. And why black people always resist and make police angry. They are just doing their job. Polices dealing with lots of different kind of people we should understand them sometimes they piss me of sometimes too when get ticket but don’t resist go to court if you have a problem. Police should be tough to everybody even to celebrities and rich people if they resist. In some other small countries polices are weak. Rich people or their kids beat them and they get away with it. That’s even sadder.
Dan Ny Do the research on policing and its roots , and I also found a clip on the net a white school teacher actually teaching racism in his class and a student recorded it 😎🤨😎
Skyy Hawk I used to smoke too for 3,4 years everyday but I never smoked in my car. When I get pulled over they don’t smell anything.

Demar is one god dude. Taylor on the other hand, is a wifey, bae ore the perfect girl to date
Real talk bring him to the magic an run him at the 2 nobody scoring on both teams 90’s b-ball 😂😂 Fultz, Demar, J.I., A.G, Bamba
allstar next year
Demar Derozan speaks his truth and you guys hate it’s really sad instead of saying negative things why don’t you watch something else or actually try to listen and understand what he is say. He is only saying stuff that he’s experience and unless you were with him you have no right to denounce that
Did she lighten her skin?
No I think it's just lighting and maybe lack of sunlight
So here's another issue that's not brought up.... If black athetes start assimilating to "white universities" in terms of the vernacular and culture, how will that play out when they go home for holidats and summer vacation and etc? I understand the challenge of black people in America having to play two roles. But in the future, won't we all have to do that...? Just food for thought. It's not necessarily about higher and lower cultures. It's about both sides, so to speak, being maybe unwilling to meet halfway. And that's on both sides. Me, I'm ready and willing to go halfway and all the way. But some blacks and whites, aren't ready.
Nice crib DeMar
Was this the same day as the Lamar Jackson interview?
Being black in America....being paid millions to play a child's recreational game...Okay.
I know this a serious topic but TAYLOR ROOKS CAN GET DIS PIPE ANYDAY💯💯
Taylor Rooks race baiting sports … instead of being a sports reporter …. 😔
DeMar has been having a bad life the past 2 years I imagine
Not really. His parents are doing alright, he's been performing well. He was happy his former teammates won last year. He continues to advocate for mental health awareness. Now he has lost a few folks close to him (Nipsey, Kobe) but he's not as miserable as you might think.
@@BrothaMan98 lmao wow.. how could u truly know how miserable someone is inside, if you are not them?
WestsidePlayer Do you live with Demar?😂
@@BrothaMan98how about losing your best friend?
@BleacherReport At 9:40 she mentions, "white people see a cop and feel safe." No, not true at all. I would never speak on some else's behalf. Please dont categorize all white people and stereotypically put them all in the same boat. Thanks!!
Black lives matter!!! LMAO SO YOU DONT DELETE THIS COMMENT>?

It must hurt so much to be a Millionare
being a millionaire doesn't make you exempt from being pulled over and murdered by the police fool
The victim mentality is big problem.
This dude playing victim while his so successful in America. Get outta here.
