@@roywatson7916 it’s been SLAMMED by the market and this video was supposed to be books unaffected by the market. Banes 9.8 is nearly down to $200 so that makes it one of the most coldest Batman books
Great video and Batman always has some safe bets. I would love to see a Daredevil top ten next or start a series based on all the different characters like this.
Love Martian Manhunter and agree, outside of the 1998 Martian Manhunter series by Ostrander, he has not had his day in stories. Tec 225 eludes me to this day, but did manage to snag his first cover appearance book, a little title called Brave and the Bold 28 ;)
Thankfully I have all the wannabe's you showed, I to love Detec #457, It's my thumbnail after all. Whether I will ever get any of the dearer ones you showed is anyone's guess, especially when I used to own 6 of them!
hey man. been watching your videos for a while and i gotta say---i love your videos. your advice is spot on and i love how you always suggest things that are "underrated" or not "mainstream." and your videos always have lots of content; this video alone has the 10 investment keys + an extra 10 entry level comics which i really appreciate! hope your channel continues to grow. kudos
IMO, an entry level that everyone seems to be sleeping on is Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1, first appearance of Victor Zsasz. Yes, I know it isn't Batman or Detective, but it s still a Bat book with a key Bat villain.
You will enjoy this. Came across Legends of the Dark Knight Annual 1991. I usually skip over Legends but that Mignola cover drew me in. It’s a good comic! So many good artists and a Denny O’Neal story, I was pleasantly surprised.
Great video. When I was actually reading books and not just collecting covers, books in the Batman universe were often my favorites. I think it's because few had super-powers. (Yes, some had exaggerated abilities.) Even now the covers I buy the most are from the Batman universe and usually feature female characters from his world.
Great video! when i win the mega millions i will load up! batman 155 could have made the list (1st silver age penquin) really liked the entry level books!
This video is packed with value, thanks man. While I can't swing with the big boy books, I see the "entry level" keys all the time...unfortunately I keep seeing them at auction (primarily facebook) and the prices don't quite align with the condition and the FMV. And being north of the border, once I factor in duty and shipping, it makes buying in more typical places not really worth it. But it's still good info to have in case I ever come across these in person.
Yes, love this subject format. Would like to see a series of videos that outline the history of & showcase key comics, of the many popular titles & characters.
Way under the radar and dirt cheap are some of the iconic Breyfogle covers imo. Not great stories…not really super keys but for Batman covers -Norm Breyfogle is my GOAT.
Really not much of a Batman fan, watched because I enjoy learning about keys but gotta give it the like for that first apperence of Martain Manhunter, would absolutely love to have that book. Fr I really like when you do the cheap keys, one I don't think I've seen on your lists that I just picked up for a 10 dolla bill was Legends #1 first Amanda Waller and Brimstone
Cool Batman list. Would love a Red Hood - but that is a tough one to come by. I think that 52 #11 - 1st full Kate Kane Batwoman is still a good book. Wouldn't that be amazing if Matt Reeves used Bat-Mite!
I’m gonna say that Batman 189 (1st silver age scarecrow) should be on this list. We have steadily watched this book climb over the years and I believe it’s here to stay!
Ugh it always breaks my heart to know as a huge Batman fan that I will never ever ever be able to collect them all. But I love this list! The only one I own from this video is the first Tim Drake so I have a ways to go! So many Batman books!
Always thought that Ventriloquist first appearance is underrated. Also Tim Drake’s first appearance. Why is that a $20 book and Damian Wayne’s is a $50 book? I don’t get it.
The first Tim Drake was the first Batman comic I bought randomly after the hype of the first Batman movie. Couldn't believe that one had value years later when I looked it up
First Matrian Manhunter app is Tec 225 the story finishes in 226 and his backup stories end on 327 and 226 has a green cover that shows all the defects
Just read Batman Annual 15 from 1991...great story...batman kills the joker and starts laughing manically...I'm pretty sure its the first batman who laughs. Anyone else read it?
The best riddler issues also happen to coincide with the best riddler covers. Look up top 10 riddler covers to find! Not on there, but you definitely want to read “War of jokes and riddles” And “dark knight dark city”
Hello guys. I have a friend who bought 2 big units of comics and she is searching for trustworthy persons who can make a deal with her. There are really great comics in great shape golden till modern. She lives 1 hour from Washington DC. Let me know if you are interested
I think Batman Adventures #12 is bulletproof. Harley Quinn will be popular for a long time.
I almost never comment on videos….but this!!! I’ve been waiting for!! Thank you!! Keep it going man with different characters
Im surprised you didn't mention Vengeance of Bane. That is an affordable key.
That’s “affordable” keys, this was “investment” keys
@@MintHunterComics you don't believe that it can be an investment? He is a newer but somewhat decent villain.

@@MintHunterComics gotcha.
@MintHunterComics but wouldn't that also be the reason it would be a good investment...? Buy low sell high.
Back in the 90s, I got a 3.5 Ivy for $5.50 and a 4.0 Ivy for $7.25.
Great vid. Batman 291 comes to mind as one to keep an eye on. 3rd appearance of Mr. Freeze, too.
I got a coverless copy of detective comics 168 and I love it
That Cassandra Cain. Such a great book, brutal in high grade
I think that's one of the many books I gave away when I had to move in a hurry once. Oh, well...
0:21 I love this scarecrow cover. I just bought 2 Batman #189's this year.
Great video and Batman always has some safe bets. I would love to see a Daredevil top ten next or start a series based on all the different characters like this.

I used to find Batman 567 at Half Price Books for half of cover price fairly often, and I always bought it when I did. Awesome book.

Thank you for including the entry level keys too.
Batman is simply the best. Would love you to do this for X-men or swamp thing with this format
Great video very informative information I so far have a complete vol 2 and 3 and from vol 1 have a complete run from issue 98 to 713.
I would love to see a whole video on entry-level keys for Batman, Green Lantern Superman, etc.
I just picked up a Detective 168 and have all the other books on this list. Great books!
I’ll never be able to afford them god I can dream. Also great to see you man thank you.

No Batman 189! 😢
My favorite video of this channel! I aspire to one day have many/most/all of these! Time to jump from the starter keys to the big boys

Love hearing about diamond in the rough stories like that!

(Yes, some had exaggerated abilities.) Even now the covers I buy the most are from the Batman universe and usually feature female characters from his world.
I would love to see this same video concept with Green Lantern!
Batman: The Long Halloween is one of my favorite stories
Great video! when i win the mega millions i will load up! batman 155 could have made the list (1st silver age penquin) really liked the entry level books!
Love me some Cassandra Cain. Picked up a raw for about 60$ and got it graded a 9.6? Easily one of my favorite slabs I have
I love these type of videos. I would like to see one of Superman books 👍🏻
Yeah that would be nice ^^

Second on batman 232...first Ras is pretty darn bullet proof
Super solid list - thanks for the big boy tips! It'll be a while before I can grab even the smallest one lol

Enjoyed this, particularly the tec 267 book!

I think it's not quite to the same level as these 10! Believe it or not, I've actually found it in the wild and in collections probably over 20 times!
To be fair Batman adventures #12 can be bought for under a thousand, so that isn't too bad
Ugh it always breaks my heart to know as a huge Batman fan that I will never ever ever be able to collect them all. But I love this list! The only one I own from this video is the first Tim Drake so I have a ways to go! So many Batman books!
Great video!!!! It would be cool to do the same thing with a lot of different titles
Have that 181, poison ivy. But no poster and they hole punched the comic so it has 3 holes on it.
Solid list. I would still have the Detective Comics #69 in there. The best Joker cover.
4 of the 10; guess I have some hunting to do.
now that bane statue is pure fire, bro. #IWANTCAPTAINCARROTPLEASE
Great video!
I was going to buy a Detective 168 but bought a Detective 40 instead
Detective Comics 273, Dragon Society. Has a Manhunter story and Batman nearly giving up in getting the Dragon Gang!
Noice!
436 you’re featuring the second print
Great list James, but you left out Batman Adventures#12.
Is clayface gonna be in the next Batman movie? Cool list, I’m definitely gonna have to put these in my radar.
No batman adventures 12? Batman vengeance of bane?
2 of my favorites
How could you leave out Batman #232 the first Ra's al Ghul!?!?!?!? And it's follow-up #244? Both are Neal Adams at his peak.
I have 244. It’s a little rough but I got it for $56
Can you do this video for the other notable heros - Spidey, Xmen etc that would be awesome
Nice selection. How about doing the same and marvel and choosing amazing Spider-Man?
Yap I got few of them Batman keys
@MintHunterComics just bought a sealed all New ultimate Spider-Man #1. Should I open it and possibly grade it or keep it polybagged?

Do you think Firestorm 2nd series is underrated in terms on first appearances?
What do you think about penguin 1st appearance?
How about.Real Fact number 5 and the story of how Batman created. But they forgot Bill Finger.
I’m a new collector but have wanted to collect a lot of Riddler issues, do you have any advice on how to research into appearances?
The best riddler issues also happen to coincide with the best riddler covers. Look up top 10 riddler covers to find!
Not on there, but you definitely want to read
“War of jokes and riddles”
And “dark knight dark city”
@@MintHunterComics Thanks! I’ll check them out
