love the collection
That Malibu set is insane and the price you mention is wild. That Malibu Sun book is wild if it's the full set because one of those is the unofficial first Spawn appearance, as Image was initially briefly publishing through Malibu. The titles you may be most likely to enjoy are probably Night Man, Prime, Sludge, and Rune.
I had to look into this. It’s only a complete set of ultraverse related books. So the Malibu Sun book starts in June 1993, well after the first spawn in May 1992.
Still really cool. I may do a video on this set in future.
you need to get and read Ed Brubaker's Catwoman omni, it's so good.

I love this setup of having the small shelves inbetween the big ones. Especially in the corner. I really need to upgrade my shelves, the sagging shelves are getting worse and worse!

I bought 4 of them .. but now the deluxe is coming out... I dont have patience and always end up getting standard hard cover then give them away when the damn deluxe or omni comes out
Yeah I actually tend to dislike standard size hardcovers but I always worry books won’t get collected in oversized if it doesn’t sell. And things were so so sold out all the time the past few years I don’t want to miss a book altogether. I don’t mind upgrading but my wallet sure hates it
Question about your shelves-- those look like the Ikea Billy shelves with the extenders. How are they with the weight of the omni on them?
They are. I followed instructions from this video to add a 1” by 2” wood slat up the center of the back, screwing into each shelf. I did not glue the back like he did. It holds the weight of the omnis well with that mod. czcams.com/video/u_caV1-mj_o/video.html

Hey, if a person wanted to try to read Marvel's Star Wars comics from the 70's, are those collected and were they published in an omnibus or a smaller volumes? I thought Star Wars as a comic would quickly fade away. Who knew what Star Wars would morph into over the decades.
You’re looking for “The Original Marvel Years” collected editions. They put out omnibus as well as trade paperbacks called “epic collections”. It was a few years ago now so it may be out of print and you may have to buy them used. I’m not sure. They’re also available digitally on a subscription service called “Marvel Unlimited”
@@batlessons Yeah, I looked it up after I commented. The Omnibus is out of print. People want close to $300 for the book. I buy these Omnis and Epic books, tpb and so on. Sometimes I even read some of them. It's so tempting to own a run of comics that you could access and read when the inspiration strikes you. I realize I am more of an inspired buyer than a reader though, but I have a lot of books when and if I get ready. Life and keeping a house in a functional condition seem to trump reading comics. But when I see these comic fans and collectors throwing big money at books that they may only send to CGC or put on display, I respond by being more practical and buying Omnis and other books. I just don't have the insane amounts of cash to throw around that so many people have.
I hear you! I’m very fortunate to be able to afford the books I have. In most cases I buy them when they’re in print. I rarely pay at cover price and even more rarely over cover price. Even so I know I’ve spent a lot. I try to make sure I’m buying things I actually read so I’m collecting not hoarding. Easier said than done!
Collecting all of these books and not yet even reading many of them is just wild to me haha. Maybe I'm just jealous as a lot of these are OOP and/or books I've been looking for for a long long time
Ikr graphic novels are for reading not just to sit there
Books I want to read quickly going out of print really did scare me into picking up books I want to read when they come out. That’s the difference between getting something for half cover price instead of double or more.
I acknowledge that buying at a rate faster than I can read isn’t great. I do fully intend to read them all, and try very very hard to buy only things I will read. That’s the difference between a collection and a hoard.
Any plans to pick up Batman and Robin eternal or tomasi omnibus for detective?
Yes to both. I’ve never read Batman and Robin Eternal, but I hear it’s good. Tomasi’s detective I read in single issues and it’s not my favorite… but I have most of the Batman oversized stuff and all the tomasi omnis so I hesitate to stop the ball from rolling. Would recommend other Batman books first if you had to choose.
@@batlessons appreciate the response! I'm probably planning to pick up eternal and b&r eternal cause I have rise and fall of the Batmen and I heard they provide good coverage of the characters

No! Are they good? Do they include present day characters and the animus, or does it focus only on historical characters?
I am a new reader but i like them.And talked to some people who liked them as well .
They are about the game characters but the sotries aren’t always about the characters you play with .
The stories in the books are a lot better then in the game .
They are non-graphical books by the way. Just words on words 😅
Don't feel bad! I have a collection of 250+ and have only gotten to read about a quarter of them 😅
Cling to that Malibu Ultraverse bound collection! Those comics are so fun, corky and over the top. Much better than most of the standard Marvel and DC output.

Why do you buy books and don’t read it. Is it when you see a deal you buy it?
The way comic book publishers do collected editions makes it hard to get a specific book. Usually they do a single printing and very very rarely do they print it again. So if you don’t buy a book when it comes out you may be unable to in just a few months, because it sells out. So my intention/desire is to read all of them, and I am trying to avoid being unable to buy them when I’m ready.
