I just tried the leave in bond repair by Living Proof and it’s fantastic! My hair likes it a lot more than k18 but it’s probably because my hair isn’t as damaged as it used to be. I highly recommend trying the Living Proof bond builder. Oh and the bond repair mask from Twist by Ouidad is FANTASTIC. Has such good slip and my hair responds well. You should try it. I loved Olaplex for my hair, but had a terrible allergic reaction, not sure what is in it that caused it, one of the proteins most likely? Curlsmith has sweet almond oil, which I know I’m allergic to so that’s out. It doesn't need much protein so I prefer olaplex, however with my hair being so long the ends are a different porosity and texture than the roots. So I often co these treatments on the last 18 inches of my hair and on the canopy to help the element damaged areas. I'm super tempted to try K18 but the $😱.

Thank you for this video, education and comparison. I've had all 3 as well.
I have black Chinese hair that is foiled so that I can have bright pinks and reds in it. I've decided to grow my hair out for the next couple of years to see what my natural virgin curls look like. I'm going to invest in wigs I think for when I want bright hair.
My favourite for use is K18. However, it is very expensive, albeit has a lot of uses. Great for time poor people or those that can not be bothered with the longer multiple steps of the Curlsmith Bond Salve or Olaplex no. 3.
I prefer the Bond Salve instead of Olaplex as well due to better value for money. One must remember to use a non-protein or clarifying shampoo prior to application; I prefer doing it this way so that there is no product between my hair and the treatment.
Overall, all of them do the job for me. If anything, I need to make sure I get a good hydrating treatment in more often at this point rather than a bond repairer; my hair seems to appreciate this more lately.

I had the same experience with Olaplex #3, my hair is also wavy, and low porosity. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think I'd actually argue that overall K18 ends up being the best value, after I emulsify it I only end up needing 2-3 pumps for my medium length hair/high density hair. I use it every week or every other week so the bottle lasts me forever. With Olaplex I only got about 3 uses, more with the Bond Curl but I absolutely cannot stand the smell. I'm going to try Living Proofs bond product, it applies like K18 but you can use conditioner I think. My hair is healthy but I have mermaid goals!

One more thing, you are supposed to use Olaplex 0 and 3 together for best results. $60 for the two bottles and it only gives me three treatments. The small K18 will get you the 6 treatments that are required before you go to maintenance. Unless your hair is really long, you shouldn't use more than four pumps. A large bottle is 50 pumps so the price comparison is pretty much very close.

Have you tried Olaplex 0 prior to applying 3? I’m new to Olaplex and it seems they go together. And then the 8 is recommended as the conditioner.
I’m letting my grey/white grow out after 25+years of color, so most of my hair is virgin. It’s wavy and frizzy and very low density…..if it were not for frizz I’d have no volume 😂
Just used the 3 products for the first time and love them. My hair is soft and wavy. It tamed the “cottony” look of the frizz but did not cause me to lose volume. I sure hope this continues!!
Curlsmith’s Bond product worked for me…..until it didn’t. So I suppose time will tell.

I had just had a hair cut, so I wasn't sure if that was the problem. I used the Bond Repair, and it did help, but not as much as I wanted it to. I am 5 months Postpartum, so still dealing with Postpartum hair so that's always a challenge. How often do you use the Curlsmith ??? Postpartum hair loss is sooo tough! Bleh! And I don't have a limit on how much I use Curlsmith. They have quite a few different lines, so if the ones was to moisturizing you can always try another line. Their strength line has a nice balance of protein. @@yonboi6644 Thank you! I’m glad the brush works well for you. What hair type do you have? I have heard that brush styling doesn’t work well with hair types that need a lot of water to form clumps.

@@kendall8 that sound exactly like my hair! My hair hates brush styling and I've tried so many techniques but my roots ends up flat. A good foam adds a ton of volume and definition! I also diffuse if u want the most volume

Not me in my early natural hair journey washing my hair with baking soda water and conditioning with diluted ACV😅😒

😂😂 I totally get that! Sooo many recommend it. But, at least you diluted the ACV! Using it straight up, is where the issue would be.

Hey, sorry for reaching out like this, but I’am really desperate for help with my curls and figured that maybe someone out of your community could help.
When I started the cgm my waves came out so beautifully, almost curly. But after 2 month my hair became more and more limp agin. People always say use protein if curls are losing its shape, but I tried so many protein heavy products and nothing really worked for me. I also tired deep cleaning my hair with a sulfate shampoo, In case I have build up, but it also didn’t change anything. Choped of half the Length of my hair, because I thought they might be too heavy to curl properly, but didn’t do anything.
Pls if anyone has any ideas, don’t hesitate to leave a comment 🥲

It’s possible that in the summer with more moisture in the air is causing your hair to be more limp. You may simply need a stronger hold gel. I do have a video talking about how I changed up my routine for the summer if that is helpful.
