Only thing i disagree with is that if done right the sponge hair can look really good and curly . Im working on the technique by going in and painting curls individually over top of it. Not doing it for a "quick fix". Im dyslexic so sometimes i have to look at things in different ways. Its for me it is easier to go in a define the curls using the sponge technique. Start of the sponge way for a few layers then go in and do indivisual curls. Def not easy though ,it takes me a hours to do the sponge way . I tend to stay away from painted hair in general because i personally dont like painted so its bald or rooted thats the easiest for me. i try to use different colors in layers to build up the curl etc or root over it as well. So i feel like if worked on and practiced over time it can be made into something awesome ,so i will continue to practice amd perfect it. Thats what these dolls are about. Having fun, trying new techniques and new ways to enhance these dolls. I respect your opinion though
15:52 i agree it is DEFINITELY offensive… people tend to brush aside that. especially considering how intricate and just unique our natural hair is, and as an artist you’re using a SPONGE and simply dabbing it on and calling that “afro hair” absolutely not! 😭
I bought my grandmother a doll. My aunt chose him. Grandma passed, and he came to live with me. He has sponge hair. He's currently out for a makeover. I just couldn't. I think sponge painted hair. Is racist and problematic. Every time this artist posts on reborns. I want to scream!!!!
