This is why it is important to have " the right person for the right position" Dave is an Engineer, and understands what is going on, and will definitely ask the right questions, this should be the first criteria, before considering that he is " human"! This is contrary to making Fashola the minister of power and works, to "learn on the job". I hope everyone is taking notes!!!

Nigeria should open in all its universities , engineering departments, that specialize on infrastructural development with workings with each States ministry of works and maitenance. All big Foreign Contracts, be it in building of bridges, steel mills contruction, refineries, or any heavy infrastructure should include training and maintenance in the Contract. The contractors should work with a devision of the ministry of works in the State they are operating , for regular inspections during the work period of the Contract. The Ministry Should also work with University or trade schools in the Area for Credit earning training towards graduation. Right now Nigeria is not gaining nothing from these huge money contracts awarded to these foreign companies.

If the contractors did not meet the qualities of work or time of completion, there will be penalties. If the job is finish before time and the quality meets standard there should be a contract bonus. He's very knowledgeable and hard working, but with all due respect, where are the geotechnical reports, specifications, and detail drawings that suggested types of soil his directing to be use.
Project and construction management 101, you can't direct contractor's work, means and methods, sequence of work, materials, etc, provided it's has been stated in the contract documents stated above.
Also, who is the PM/CM Consultant for this project? and I don't see any young Nigerians on the field learning from this job/projects, so they can be well knowledgeable like him someday to build the nation.
He's always in the entourage of big pot belly men not in appropriate PPE, like himself for site visits. Africans/Nigerians should learn to lead by example.

I don't know why people are still crying and wailing for unemployment and lack of jobs to do in Nigeria with all the construction works going on in the country. Nigerians don't want to soil their hands and their pants by working at these sites. Instead, they prefer to spend their productive lives at the church/mosque, mama put/beer parlor, and on phones. Nonsense 🙈

What you have said is so incredibly devoid of mental reasoning... it's actually shocking.... that's like you saying there's so many people who need fast internet in Nigeria, why don't people create internet instead of staying in churches and beer parlours. ARE THEY TRAINED FOR THE JOB? Most people can't afford to live on a daily basis but do you know how expensive school and vocational institutes are for the average person (people living on 40-50k per month)? What about tailors and bakers, they should go and work on that road Abi? If you are not trained for something, then you simply cannot do it now

Anyways, it takes three levels of construction to determine any good road.
Hard shoulder is equally very important and drainage, hard shoulder enables easy flow of traffic in terms of breakdown and can easily be used, during reconstruction of roads.

Hahaha 😂 bros that’s why I’m saying that we should go for the best construction company. Because nobody knows when this type of opportunity will come again.
Julius Berger, PW , and Nigercats. Any construction company is new in Nigeria.

I don’t know actually what I said against you that you are worried about.
It shall be unto you according to the word of your mouth.
The bible says, whoever digs a pit shall fall therein.
The bible says, their violent dealings shall come upon their own head.

Dave Umahi did awesome construction work as governor and he has brought that professionalism to the federal level. There's no other Igbo man in this APC government that Igbos are hailing.

How Fashola a lawyer was allowed to mess up the position of minister of works for 8 solid years all n the name of politics is beyond me. Nigerians should have been on the streets protesting. It will take 16 years of Dave Umahi as minister of works to correct all the catastrophe of Fashola's time in office.
