It's not supposed to be like that... They are supposed to have 3 coequal branches of government and a separation of powers between states and the federal government - a bit like Canada has their provincial government with some power.
Technically congress can overturn the supreme court and or put into law the things the majority support; however, our current state of congress is so fractured they wouldn't be able to pass meaningful legislation, especially since one party is all about protecting these bad supreme court decisions.
Their hypocrisy has no limits.
I think we should hold the highest office in the most powerful country on earth to a higher standard than playing "Simon Says" but replacing it with "As an official act" and the fact that 6 supreme court justices ruled in this fashion means we should dissolve the supreme court and re-pick the justices immediately.

I’m not so sure that this supreme court would uphold this precedent if a democratic president was accused of a crime. It’s not like this court has any respect for longstanding legal precedent who’s to say they will have respect for their own precedent when it doesn’t benefit them politically.

When the appeal reaches the "Supreme Rulers", sorry Supreme Court, then they will decide whether or not it was an official act. Care to wager how they would rule if it were a Democrat or Republican?

The Conservatives on The Supreme Court granting Trump this immunity also means Biden & any other future President also have immunity. This case shows 1 of the biggest differences between Conservatives & Liberals; Conservatives only think about how the laws effect them whereas Liberals have the foresight to think about how the laws effect everyone.

Presidential immunity was found not to be absolute with nixon and enough people in USA at the time found he had done wrong and nixon had to back down even though he always maintained he had done nothing wrong.
