It's already been 7 years! Time flies. This band, song and the album were love at first sight for me.
Jesus... this makes me feel 14-15 again... what a feeling I can not find words for currently. Just, wow... crazy man.
I love this song even more now that I know what it's about:
"My family is Hispanic and one day my Uncle said something that sounded like "Coconut Dracula" I asked him if that's what he said and he said no. I told him I liked the way it sounded and was going to write a song with that somehow. It's a song about having a new nature. Count Dracula one day finds a coconut on the ground and bites into it. He discovers that there are beautiful things in the world that have nothing to do with being evil or hurting people. He then gets his name legally changed from Count Dracula to Coconut Dracula. He is roommates with a Werewolf, Frankenstein, a Witch, and a Mummy. They are very confused about Dracula's new lifestyle as he is helping with charities, wearing batman pajamas, and eating fresh veggies from his garden. The song is from the Mummy's point of view as he is desiring to be filled with the same joy that has captured Dracula's heart."
Gayest. meaning. ever.
acesonfire that shit is very very gay.
Robert Harrison may be but its actual the whole point of the song
acesonfire So, a song about a fictional character wanting to turn his evil life around, and one of his compadres decides to follow suit, is gay?
Rawk4Life yes it's gay. Vampires drink blood not V8s. Let me guess, you like twilight too. Jameson Richter I know and that's the reason why it is so gay.
I finally found it! I remember my dad playing this when we would drive places
Lucky
alot of influence of P.O.D and deftones i like it
That's what I said hahahah :) a lot like deftones in guitar and drums wise and pod wise in vocals and bass :) best influences I believe :)
Watched them and pod kill it last night. The ended up doing a cameo with pod was pretty epic
adam wittman I saw them and red a month ago
adam wittman the Rockford show? That was great
Yea!! This other band was there also and they were ok
I was born in 93, but when I grew up in the 00's, the kind of P.O.D./Deftones-esque music became my definition of "cool music", as opposed to the metalcore, indie folk, dubstep etc. that kids consider to be cool nowadays. This song sounds exactly like the cool music from the time when I was a school kid. Rock on, Islander, you're awesome as fuck!!
After he says "You're not out for blood", I keep expecting him to say "Cus you're a coconut dracula" hahaha
I'll never listen to this song the same way now
William Rader you're welcome hahaha
same herelol hah xD
He doesn't say that he says 'Cause your not alpha blood' doesn't he
Jamie Forde Out for blood
Their lead singers ass fell on my head when he was crowd surfing (they were opening for Korn) I also saw Brian head welch just fucking jamming out off stage
yeah he doesnt stop standing on people lol
I had never heard of these guys until I saw them live in Miami Beach opening for Korn and I became an instant fan I really like how the lead singer was showing the crowd so much love he even jumped off the stage and was crowd surfing they are gonna be a big named band really soon great time last night these guys are amazing
Stephanie Jones Same here! They opened for Korn here in Utah!
Saw this song on guitar hero live. Very good
Saw them live with OTEP
Kickass band! Bought their new album
these dudes are a mix of the deftones, P.O.D with a lil rage thrown in there
Just saw these guys live at Rocklahoma yesterday. They kicked ass.
These guys are so much better live than you can ever see in a video. They've got a unique sound that only draws a niche audience, but I love that they're true to who they are, and are all super talented musicians. Lead singers got the "it" factor for real (and is also super chill). Seen them in a small bar setting, a condensed set at an outdoor show, and in a small arena, and they always shine!
this is one of the songs that shaped me into who i am now honestly
I seen these guys in sac after they finish their set couldn't believe what I've seen and how I never heard of them they're awesome
I love this song ... In all my years the first song to word for word translate my heart's desire
I just discovered them with GH Live and I think that's one of the best surprise I've ever listen to in a GH ! This song is just amazing !
I remember listening to this on the bus home from school.. good times ♥️♥️♥️
I've seen Islander open a LOT in NY. Great band, great song. I love it when Mikey walks across the crowd while singing this song. He's walked on my hands more than once!
Believe it or not they sound better live. Just saw them perform last week. Dint know who they were lol
Agree 100%
Just saw them for the second time. They are still awesome. Bonus points because they always stay after the show to see fans.
My best friend saw them when there were opening for 10 Years and Starset last year and she said the lead singer was just all over the crowd and crazy. Got beer spilled on her bc of him. Love this song! Great video too. Have had this on my iPod on my for almost two years and I only now decided to find the video.
Just saw these guys yesterday with nonpoint and p.o.d. they put on an awesome show.
I seen them too down here in tyler texas
I heard these guys live without never hearing of them. They were with POD and DED. I was impressed. Met Mikey and he is a stand up guy!
I love this song. Good vocals. Intersting guitar riffs. Driving drums. All tided together will a bass line that rapes my eardrums.
Always playing on the radio. ..I'm hooked.
Saw Islander live on the floor for my first metal festival. Got two guitar picks from them. I also got to shake hands and get an autographed poster from them. AND he let about thirty people on stage and I was one of them up there. He was crowd surfing on stage and it was amazing.
Was that the atreyu concert in Seattle?
was that at high elevation
Emma Glaze I had almost the exact same experience when I saw them in Baltimore, except I got them to sign my joker bag.
They did that at Texas Mutiny too
They did that at Texas Mutiny too
Am I the only one listening to this song amid Covid19 lock down 2020? 5 years and not even a million views?
Mikey and the rest of the band are so down to earth, great to chat with.
Let's get this to 1 million views. It's so worthy.
I just saw these guys last night in Silver Springs, MD with Papa Roach and Seether, and they were great. They had an awesome stage presence and tons of energy. I had never heard of them prior to this show, but will definitely be buying their music in the near future. We need to see if we can get OCTANE on Sirius to play them!! Email and Facebook them to play Islander, as these guys deserve to be heard by more!!
Although they remind me of several bands, they still have their own unique and fresh sound that is great to hear. Originality is certainly welcome in the Rock world and will be well received once they get on the airwaves.
Great job at the show guys!
They play them on Octane all the time.
I just heard them on there tonight for the first time, but thanks for letting me know!
You saw that concert too? Heh, there's no denying it: they really were amazing there. It was my first hearing them too, but they were amazing. Plus they're really friendly off stage too as they joked and talked with my younger brother. Kyng was pretty good too, but I'd have to admit that Islander really is amazing live and in studio.
Saw them woth Kyng Seether and Papa Roach on 1-17-15 and they were all so amazing!
Silver Spring** but that's rad.
so addicted to this song :D
YOU SHOULD BE ADDICTED TO DRINKING BLEACH FOR LIKING THIS SONG

Tyson Elko sadly this was the only band I missed at st louis and didn't even know about them till AFTER the show from the free cd hand outs from Victory Records :(
I saw them two days ago at Aftershock. Great energy.
Just got threw seeing these guys in concert. The guitarist and singer were pretty friendly and the show rocked
when that bass line hits it groove time
I watched some dude covered Pains with guitar a while back and I thought the band was tight. Completely forgot about the band for years then rediscovered this band a few weeks ago when I passed a friend the AUX chord. It's been a while since I found a band so good! I honestly enjoy all their songs from this album and the newest one!
just saw these guys open for P.O.D last night, really like them
Awesome that I got to meet these guys!! Way to represent my hometown!!!
Great show at Las Vegas Hard Rock w/ POD & Nonpoint. You guys brought the heat.
I WANT MORE!!!
1st heard this song 5 yrs ago n still brings back good memories and now cant wait to hear more music
Saw them live last night at the Palladium in Worcester, MA and their energy was contagious. I wanted to talk to them after the show but I chickened out.. I stood a few feet away from the merch table smiling like an idiot but I couldn't work up the courage to walk up and then I ran out of time. PLEASE COME BACK TO WORCESTER SO I CAN COME SAY HI TO YOU AND TELL YOU HOW AMAZING YOU GUYS ARE. I felt so awful when I got home, it just didn't sit right that I didn't come shake your hands and thank you for the positive energy and your message... T_T Keep it up guys, that was awesome.
They are from where i live in SC, never be shy, nicest most humble dudes you could ever meet!
Yeah I can totally tell now and I'm just kicking myself. Haha if they ever see this, YOU GUYS WERE AWESOME and next time I'm saying hi and buying a t-shirt. :) The energy they had was just awesome. They breathed life into that room, I swear they did. Come back to Massachusetts!!!
I love this song soo much they were soo amazing at U Fest this year ❤
I've seen them twice now. Carolina Rebllion 2015, and the Louder Than Life Festival...AMAZING both times!
Such a good freakin song...
This song is amazing
I saw them live their van broke down a couple blocks form the show but they still made it and killed it I've been listening ever since
Who wouldn`t watch a video called COCONUT DRACULA! lol totally worth it! didn`t know this band glad i watched this :D
Saw this performed live before I ever heard a recording... I swear he was saying, "Hope you're not Dracula." Changes the meaning, but it works.
Thought these guys would blow up after this song
I can't get enough of this song! I would recommend it to my local rock station, but they were just bought out, and turned into a Christian station! They play this all the time on satellite radio though.
This whole song is tremendous!
This song gives me hope for the band, If most song on the album will be similar this is gonna be a great album.
Their sound is like what you would get if you crossed Deftones with P.O.D. Two of my favorites bands I listened to growing up. 2:42
That's the best bass I've heard in a long time.
I love Islander!
the perfect mix of grunge and metal
make good hard rock lol
agree with this, those verses where the bass takes over has got grunge all over it,very nirvana that
Thanks for making this song from the deepest part of my 💓💔
Awesome band, awesome song and great album. Buy the cd and def check these guys out if they come to your town.
Met the whole band and got autographs at Mayhem last Thursday. Never heard of them before, but now I'm hooked!
Won't stop listening to this... 🤘🤙🖤
I actually hear this song often on Sat radio. Great tune, hope they break through, they have talent...
got to see these guys a few weeks ago with starset and seether, got a guitar pick from these guys they also had the most hype show. They got about 7 moshs going and I was the king of 6 of those. Best part though, free concert and I found out there guys were a great band. 1065 mobile AL
I like how there was a Coconut Rum ad for this video.
Una de mis músicas favoritas de este grupo
these guys are so good live holy shit
Such a good song, sounds like goods early 2000s music they would play on MTV music or w/e
Saw these guys live a couple of nights ago. Had no idea who they were previously. They can definitely bring a live show. I'd see them again for sure.
Exactly my heart's desire looking for my Coconut Dracula
Still such a fantastic song
Great song.
saw these guys at rams head live in Baltimore Maryland thanks for the sick ass performance guys, from the guy in the mint green hoodie getting too hype ouside of the pit so I had a bunch of kids pissed but the lead singer told me I fucking rock, that made my fucking night and he even stopped in the middle of the song because two guys were fighting, Mad respect guys! if you haven't seen them live your not living life
This song helps with sadness and addiction🤘😔
Cannot wait to see them again!
Would LOVE to see them at Mayhem 2015!!!
Took me no time at all to realize this was a Christian metal band... Nice work fellas, doing a good job spreading the word. Keep it up.
If these guys are metal, then so is carpet.
Nice work carpet, doing a good job spreading over the floor. Keep it up.
Lacertilian22 XD
Lacertilian22 The funny thing is that they are actually considered metal. Nu-metal to be precise which puts them in the same genre as System of a Down. Still, there's no denying the fact that your joke was funny~
Roy Valdez Carpet.
Mikey Cavajal is a Christian, and if you ask he will tell you that. But, they are not a Christian band. They are a rock band. However, since he is the primary song writer, his beliefs do come through in his songs. Hence the chorus in this song.
Another bad ass band octane introduced to me! Thumbs up for octane
I saw you guys live at the hideaway in Johnson City, TN. Great live!
So thankful for this song as it always brings out the love I have for my son. I always “wanna be someone more like you” buddy.
Saw them with Korn in detroit. They killed it, I wasn't interested in them until I saw them play live. Was an incredible experience and made me a fan. I really didn't care for this song when I first heard it but holy shit the rest of the album overall is heavy as hell!. I got to meet the singer drummer and guitarist (JR) really cool nice dudes, they even opened up the cd when the plastic gave me and my woman trouble opening it lol was hillarious and then they signed it for us. Was great!.
+Suni Battles That was a good show, I didn't think I would like them at first but as they played on I really enjoyed them. (I liked their performance more than Suicide Silence)
yeah idc 4 suicide silence singer totally fucked my hearing.
+Suni Battles I'm going to see them today I'm so stoked
dude I was there too on October 3rd! I feel the exact same way, I had first heard coconut Dracula and I was just like meh. but then I saw them live and I was totally blown away by them. Give me a whole new respect for this song and for them now I'm a fan!
+Suni Battles how was it? thinking about going sunday in new orleans.
Just saw them yesterday at Red7, Austin Texas. Never heard of them but damn they put on a great ass show.
Amazing band! Got a new fan in me. Greetings from Uruguay guys ;)
