Lyrics:
I feel it welling up inside and Robert Smith lied
Boys do cry and with blood tears in my eyes
I'm an Anne Rice novel come to life
I can't hide the monster anymore
One can only feel desolate for so long
Until one starts to change
Into something the mirror doesn't recognize
I metamorphasize
The darkness has been biding its time
To claim its latest victim
Fresh meat for carnal desires
To become what I became
I viewed the sun for the last time
Will you still hold me when you see what I have done?
Will you still kiss me the same when you taste my victim's blood?
So crimson and red, I feel it flowing from your lips (crimson andred)
My heart is dead and so are you - Hudba
Who’s still listening in 2024?!!
🤘🤘

Can't forget the classics.
Yeah meet a girl that brings me back lol
See you at Rockville 2024
Anybody remember those Victory Record DVD that had all these videos on them?

@MekaShadowlight me too dude!!!!
I use to have it
Yessssss I had it
Still trying to remember what year they had a fire comp CD with it
Fucking Christ, I miss this era.
me 2 !
me too :(
i know right.. But hey, we all got the memories of it !
Not saying much of today's music is any better. But when i look back at 2000s metalcore i do cringe, i mean wtf were we all doing. Don't get me wrong the songs were catchy af, but were they good? i don't think so.
iBeer420noscope I kinda know what you mean. I think nostalgia just plays a big part in why I still enjoy listening to it. I must say I find it better than any modern metalcore though. Even though it seems so juvenile or primitive in comparison, every old band had their own flavor.
I remember when this album came out, I was 10. My older brother got it and played it all the time and I was instantly hooked. 27 now and my brother just passed a few months ago. This album and this song in particular takes me back to those old days listening to this with him.
Im so sorry , glad you can remember him thru these songs 🖤
Music is so powerful
Legit same thing happened here lmao except im 29 now good taste in music bro👍
Sorry about your loss.
Sorry about your loss man, He had an amazing taste in music! keep rocking on. Hope your dong well.

One of the all time underrated bands on earth
They weren't underrated. They made their mark on the scene.
You should check out 36 Crazyfists.. songs Bloodwork, The heart and the shape, at the end of August, Slit Wrist Theory
36 Crazyfists is the most underrated band on earth
I agree 36 crazyfists is a phenomenal underrated band.
@@johnhammond2817 Woo! Someone who has actually heard of them lol
Pitted to them twice live. Once during a show with devildriver and straight line stitch. That was during the snow capped romance album. Then again during rest inside the flames they were with all that remains and trivium both medium size indoor venues. Amazing band been listening to them since bitterness the star. Actually been ripping them all day haha.
after my high school break up in 2004, i had this on repeat after buying their album at a SOMA San Diego show. Now when i leave someone or some aching dissapointment happens, this is on repeat now 17 years later. Thank you for this Atreyu.
Aching disappointment, that shit hit was to close to home.
🖤
I can relate I'm in the process of it now 😂😂
Had some good times at SOMA! Let’s go Diego
This album came out when I was 436 in the year 3538 and it still brings back good memories

2021 and still love this song in a way that I play it like it came out yesterday. This was really amazing music and still is. That breakdown is dumb crazy! Sometimes my neighbors just have to deal with it lol 😂
I'm sure my neighbors hate me right now. Except for the emo kid downstairs
Fucking shame Alex is out of the band 😬 its not Atreyu any for me and they were my fav band for YEARS
@@maxlittrell960 I wondered if they were still together and if they did shows... that sucks so bad this is 3rd favorite band, Tool and System of a Down right there with them.
I still play this song every driving home from work on a Friday as a 30 year old 🤣.
I’ve never liked this song. I can’t even understand why it was published. 🙄 The lyrics suck and so does the beat
I love this band. The drummer used to be an idol to me when I was a teenager. I was a drummer for a long time and I knew drummers are basically doomed to being back of stage, out of the spotlight etc. Then I saw a music video of these guys on tv and I saw that the drummer was one of the front men. That was so cool to me! I even learned to sing while I played their songs on my drum set. I don't play drums anymore but I still make music. Awesome memories with this music.
I miss the days when Fuse was around, and MTV actually played music (even if you had to stay up till 11 to see videos)
MTV plays videos at 3 or 4 in the morning
+Mancho vie yeah but never anything good it's just that new age pop crap

After what 8 9 years of hearing this song, I still get the chills from it especially the last chorus. Epic band. Great to see them back.

Same! I did every single night to the point that my parents knew all the words. My dad actually still asks me to play songs from this album.
Need Alex back in Atreyu
MY HEART IS DEAD!..and so are you.
What a great way to end a song.
Started listening to this band in 6th grade. While i don't like their newer stuff as much, i still love these songs. Crimson, Bleeding Mascara, Lip Gloss, etc.
the theft, long live, a bitter broken memory, lonely, Start to Break you seem to forget.
It's great how Atreyu has become a part of that "these guys were my shit back in the day" sort of band. They deserved it, they were one of the pioneers of a whole new era of music. I grew up in the era of post-hardcore and metalcore, and it's sad to say but they are slowly dying out. All genres take a downturn at some point, look at the likes of classic rock, metal, and grunge. I consider this band a major factor in the chronology of heavy music and they will always be among my favorites and influences.
+Barley Mob i want time to stop! everything is changing so fast
Ah, but metal is still going strong! If you look at the likes of Ne Obliviscaris, Be'lakor, Ouroboros, Shylmagoghnar, Kambrium, Carach Angren, and so many others, you'll see it for yourself. There is still amazing music coming from the genre and its many subgenres. You just have to look.
I would say that this genre of metal is going decently strong, but it doesn't have the popularity that it did in the early-mid 2000s. This generation of music has changed since we entered the new decade, and this style of music has been fading out. There are still a lot of good bands out there that have been formed in recent years, but they won't get any airtime on FM stereo, which is what bands need. I remember listening to this song on the radio. It doesn't get played anymore. Imagine Dragons is what people want.
Rock n roll in general is dying in popularity because bands would refuse to share stage with bands that are not metal enough. That the main reason why
I totally agree dude.
This will forever be one of the best songs within it's genre and one of my favorite songs period.
There are tons of great bands nowadays... But this is an over a decade old classic, that will never be out-done! This was Atreyu at their peak of their career. They were would one of the best, if not THE BEST Metalcore band that was out there... I mean them and B4MV were at the top of the charts for a good 3 years, if not more.
Atreyu is fantastic, grew up with them. But killswitch engage takes the cake, I'd put parkway drive up there too, insane how close they sound to the studio versions in live shows.
As I Lay Dying has joined the chat, still kicking it in 2019
As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage says otherwise.
Atreyu, killswitch, trivium, bullet for my valentine. Nuff said.
Amazing times
+Michael Parker forgot the old a7x
Jimmy lee very true.
couldn't agree more
How bout red light king?
These great metal songs from the early 2000s aged like fine wine.
And maybe even more, since they have a distinct feel of that era (something that happened with older songs but many doubted would happen with metalcore, for example)
These breakdowns and screams still hit right where it should
The Crimson is definately one of my favorites from Atreyu
2022 and this song continues to prove how timeless it is 🔥
Me at 03:29 no matter how old I get: 🤘🏾
Discovered this band when I was like 14 and I am 30 now. Song is still so good! Can't age, won't age.
That "My heart is dead and so are you" still hits hard even in my 30s
I agree ! ❤
@briand2136 it hits harder in my 30s 😂
I remember as soon as i got my driver's license, this was the first song I blasted on my CD stereo driving.
Heard this song on Fuse when I was 13. I saved my lunch money to buy the album. Miss these times.
Si now you have 27 or 28 years old. You look so pretty ❤️
Agreed 100,000% I was early teens when I discovered this band, 14 years later and I still love them.
And I feel 15 again.
Lol no shit I'm 30 and this shit makes me so happy. Not even necessarily impressed with the music. Just missing an easy life

i was in 7th grade. and i graduated in 11. the old bassist from atreyu was from rancho cucamonga and i stayed in fontana so the scene was pretty solid by the time these guys were known. thanks to an old friend for introducing this. i remember it was a crazy music until everyone all of a sudden merged from their soft Hawthorne heights shit to this. atreyu, aiden, bfmv, trivium, darkest hour, a day to remember.. those nights i used to skate to all this on my way to practice. man time flies. no need to lie or fit. just personal sight. but modern kids will never understand.
+Victor Yanez myspace days lol
+Victor Yanez I go to college in Rancho, that's awesome dude.
Rancho cucomango is a real place? I thought it was a fake town they lived in, on the show workaholics.
@222Vasquez the silence in Black and White is absolutely a legendary album.
this song pulled me through a ton of rough times. props to them coming from a guy who is a rap fan

Atreyu has been the band that pushed me into metal thank God for this band
This came out when I was about 24. Shit is so effing nostalgic. Man I wish I could go back to Those days
I'll never forget the day I discovered Atreyu :)
I had went to visit my brother who was extremely into music like this. He knew I was getting into similar music when I was about 12, maybe 13, and he gave me a list of bands and songs. Atreyu was one of the first ones he listed. It was either Crimson or Becoming The Bull that he really suggested. But since then, I listen to them sm 💖💖💖
I got into so many bands through him tho tbh
I’ve been bumping the curse for the past week. Album is back to back hits 😭
There's nothing better then some chiodos and atreyu!! 2 most underrated bands
"Just liveand breath, try not to die again"
My mantra nowadays
saaaame
Dat key change doe. It's been nearly a decade and I still love this song
A7X, Atreyu, All That Remains, and Slipknot=Heaven.
I remember listening to this album constantly back in my early 20s when it first released. That was back in 2004-ish. I admit I'm not into this style of music much anymore, but I still like to come back to the music I used to listen to when younger just to reminisce and see how I feel about the music now. When it comes to metal now, I've been more into classic thrash metal like early Sepultura, Slayer, etc. But here I am listening to this song I haven't heard in nearly 20 years, and it's not bad. Not bad at all. Tons of memories too.
Pardon the wall of text.
2000’s to 2010 best era in metal
The Curse was an absolute masterpiece of an album. I remember buying it back in 2004 from a store called MVC, those were the days!. An unreal band!
You know you're feeling the music when you do an evasive roll mid-chorus.
Max Payne shit
When this comment was written the world was a better place. Now it pretty much sucks unlike this band.🤘🤘
Lip Gloss and Black, The Crimson an Demonology and Heartache.. The best Atreyu intros 🤘🏾🙏🏾
started the night with Hawthorne Heights, then a little Slipknot, and now I'm here....such amazing music. this genre needs to make a huge comeback

Epic. Love it for like 5 years.
In 6th grade, 11 years ago I bought my buddy's ipod on the bus and it had a bunch of music in it and this song; I stumbled upon and Atreyu became my favorite band after that to this very day
That bridge to the last chorus with the key change is ICONIC
This is my "I'm done with today" song lol
Cassie Maay ZOMBIESCEKS Aye!
I may be only 21. But I grew up listening to this and I'm forever grateful. These guys have helps me through a lot of rough patches in my life so far. If it wasn't for music like this I wouldn't be here right now. This song specifically has helped me get through a really tough break up and I will always have a place in my heart for some old school Atreyu. A timeless masterpiece.
Trent Laduke same man back in 6th grade I jammed this shit on my ipod lol
The pre-chorus at 2:43 is just so ******* touching, powerful and melodic and the best pre-chorus ever EVER
I listened to Atreyu the last hour to deal with the shit I'm going through right now

damn i really want to see them both live but thats highly improbable. escpecially as i lay dying cause tim is behind bars.
Zachary Saxton shame he is, but that's what you get for being stupid I supose, and Atreyu were weird they came out to A-team theme lol weird but epic! One of those miss the old days moments coming on lol
underrated? they are one of the most popular metalcore bands.. they have great gigs and lot of fans.. there is a lot of overrated bands in metalcore but Atreyu is cult band for metalcore fans
a prime example of how a record label can do bands in. Their label ran the band into the ground. Hopefully their comeback, which is hopefully what they are teasing, is going to be amazing.
