every fuckin day brother. I have a total of 600 hours, bought the game when 6 years ago, absolutely no regrets. easily the most harrowing Game Ive ever played
I started The Long Dark with Wintermute, knowing near to nothing about the gameplay other than being a survival set in my country with an emphasis on a harsh winter. First time I saw the intro, I thought the music was nice and the scenes interesting. Only when I fully experimented the first episode and launched the second that I fully understood what the video meant. The hopelesness showing on Mackenzie's face as he walks towards the crows circling above. The dead deer, a majestic creature certainly brought down with regret to avoid starvation. Astrid's desperation as she is surrounded by timberwolves. All things I experienced in the first episode. And what hit me the most, seeing poor Gray Mother. Sitting alone in her house. Knowing I had left her alone in Milton with her grief to find Astrid, but still glad I filled her fridge and her bin with burning materials. A videogame rarely has a cutscene or video that truly shows what you can feel during actual gameplay. Big thumbs up to Hinterland. And First Aid Kit.
No word of a lie. I was not expecting something so polished and perfect from them. This blew my socks off when I saw it in game. I'm glad I had faith in Hinterland way back then.... I look forward to future episodes, gut wrenching as they may be. 'til then I'll keep trudging along in the cold snow.

Alnos Thornar totally I mean I liked the idea of the cold being a killer in survival games so it intrigued me right away just to find it is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played in my life, the wolf’s terrified me when they charged and the bears are a whole other level, but even a creeping blizzard scared me,like I could run out of food or firewood, the long dark is truly an amazing game

I will admit I've had a hard time getting into it, precisely because it's so difficult, but that hasn't diminished my admiration for this gem one bit. One day I'll make my way through it in its entirety.
I love this game especially for the difficulty. It actually gives a really good feeling of survival, when you hear wolf in the distance and suddenly one pops from nowherwe. You can die really quick if you don't play smart, or plan your actions I just don't like recent update where in my opinion weapons became usless. It's hard to aim with the rifle, and I really don't understand the purpose of "aiming time limit". In my opinion it's really stupid. Also revolver that makes more sound than rifle can't scare of bear (I had that situation when bear was close and after 3 shots he still didn't care that he's getting shot). But after all it's really awesome game and one of my favorites!
The one scene where Mckenzie is looking at the birds just makes me think that he knows just how trapped and helpless he is. Unlike how the crows are free to see everything
I wasn't really sure about this game until I saw this intro. It's a good game, it's good at what it does, but I usually don't have the patience to learn games from scratch, especially with a gameplay as unforgiving as this one. But I did my best to understand the game and although it wasn't easy, I came to appreciate it. Then I saw this intro, and I fell in love with the game :)
This is one of my favorite things on CZcams. Even detached from the game itself, the music, animation, and feel of this video brings me a lot of joy. Props to the creators and I hope they get the popularity they deserve.
I bought this game when it was just added to Steam, really early on. Barely any content or anything. Got an impulse to install it and play it again, now that I've seen quite a few updates from them, and man... was I mindblown by how much have been done to it! ...And I totally jumped up and down in my chair squeeling with fangirl delight when First Aid Kit started playing. X'D Been a long time fan of those two incredibly talented women! Great choice of music, and a truly welcome surprise that they used their song for the game! Fits like a glove.

Yeah, but honestly, this game isn't even in the same league as Subnautica. It comes across as a never ending grocery list of chores just to stay alive, and honestly never gives you the time to acquire the feeling of isolation, fear, and loneliness that Subnautica gives you while exploring the dark depths of reaper infested waters. I have hundreds of hours in both games and have been playing since greenlight early access on both titles.
Absolutely love the intro and story behind this game. The atmosphere is just so bleak and isolationist, the game is enjoyable but you still feel not just the survival pressure but this sort of persistent sadness that the world around you is so dead and hostile. Every time you find another frozen corpse and hear the wolves in the distance you get that feeling again.
вынужден сказать, что эта игра стоит своих денег. И если бы можно было бы сказать разработчикам игры "СПАСИБО", то я бы сказал это лично. Это лучший сюжет, что я видел в подобных проектах!
I left the game for about a year and I absolutely love this song hearing it again oh my gosh it's just so emotional the song's help me out to so much so all I can say Is thank you

i've been playing this game for a while and it never fails to astound me with its beauty. this game has gotten me through some tough times. just spent an hour poking around the zone of contamination.
I spent the last two weeks completely enraptured by this game. I had heard of it once before, but didn’t know much about it other than survival in an abandoned winter setting. It’s incredible, the story the emotion, the sadness, the struggle. I want to go freeze in a forest somewhere, I mean not really but yeah
I think I understand, it offers peacefulness and simplicity but at the price of safety. If anything the game makes me definitely want to go camping and sit by a fire!
I've been singing for bout 5 years now, I've listened and sang to a ton of bands. But this girls voice I have never heard, her voice is amazing for any classics out there tell me she doesn't somewhat sound like Janis Joplin, Which is also a really good singer. My god i grew up with parents that are from the 80's rock n roll, I've been singing to bands from the early 60's to the late 90's, I've heard pretty much all rock music that's out there from the door's, to UFO, to well ha everyone knows nirvana, staind and seether. Out of any rock band especially any female singer, I have never heard a voice more beautiful than this one, the part I love because I can feel it when I'm sinning to pearl jam great music or lyrics is her enjoyment I can hear it but can feel it no one shows that in a voice anymore... I know this song was suppose to go deep into the game's meaning but her voice did a great job at distracting me, Tbh it made me just think more about life happens a lot Ngl i thought it was going to be jhonny cash song called hurt...

Seeing just mackenzie sitting in the middle of nowhere made me sad when I first saw him
Не думал, что The Long Dark будет таким "другим", потрясающий сюжет и видео. Thanks for Intro

The Long Dark
The Long Dark ето лучшая игра в которую я играл
I love the long dark Intro so much its so awesome i could listen to it everyday and it still never gets old
I left the game for about a year and I absolutely love this song hearing it again oh my gosh it's just so emotional the song's help me out to so much so all I can say Is thank you
This game, the credits, the music. i just love it so much
The only True survival game/experience on ps4
Damn the art direction is absolutely on point, the poles sparking as the aurora flares up...
I fucking *cried*

Underrated game. Work of art
I got chills the first time I saw this, especially after beating chapter 1 and then going into chapter 2, it was the best thing ever
The song name is: First Aid Kit-The lion's roar if any of you were wondering
u know that it was in the title
Actually you are wrong. The song name is just The Lion's Roar. First Aid Kit is the name of the band, not of the song.
@@thenewpav543 har har.
this is far better than the trailers.
This was my brothers favourite game and he didn’t play much but I’m happy I was able to see him enjoy a game as much as I did before he passed best 45$ spent after I looked at his save files he was pretty good at the game too while I struggled im 21 lol and I was the one with a decade+ plus of gaming experience but that’s one experience I’ll never get to see again
Ситилистика и саундтрек просто бесподобны! Видео вышибает слезу!
When the final chapter of Wintermute is released, I hope it's called Perseverance
This song was introduced to me once I bought the game and the expansion today.
No experience at all so wish me luck!
It is a masterpiece! How much soulful cinematic you could think of I don't even know.
This is gorgeous ❤️
The single game that isn't getting ruined by the updates...a diamond that is still getting polished...God bless Hinterland!
This is one of my favorite games! This trailer is one of the best I've ever seen, and the music fits so nicely =D
i got a very strong life is strange feeling from this intro
words cant express the goosebumps im getting after watching this
i've been playing this game for a while and it never fails to astound me with its beauty. this game has gotten me through some tough times. just spent an hour poking around the zone of contamination.
Absolutely love this intro❤️
this is so haunting and beautiful at the same time
Those visuals make the song go along so well
I get emotional hearing the song by itself, let alone with the visuals ;D
I never ben more scared of a virtual wolf, like this, in my life 😂
Damn this game was fkn awesome before the story mode got added and after they added story mode this game for me went from 10/10 to 11/10
Damn... this is beautiful. One of the best intos i've ever seen
Best song choice for this game i always look forward to finishing a chapter to hear it
Wonderful work, great intro, very cinematographic.
Gives me chills every damn time
Can’t live without it
I spent the last two weeks completely enraptured by this game.
This is amazing 👏
This gets me every time.
Can't get enough of this game
I absolutely love this game and song, when I first heard this and saw it, I was super impressed and full of surprise, I sing this song every time I hear it and I love it
very nicely done! You had commented on my TLD trailer 2 years ago and I had missed yours! great job
This gives me goosebumps every time.
HYPE FOR EP 5
Still waiting but theres HOPE🥺
A video game opening can easily shape my opinion on a game. An example is I fell in love with Hollow Knight based off the menu music. This one had me hooked as soon as it started because of this song and the atmosphere it created. Great choice.
such a great game… and the opening was so good
