Chris, we met in Toronto a couple years ago for lunch. The one fella had already sold his house and was moving over, but I've been much more hesitant. Turning 60 this year, I can afford to retire, and your message of Not letting Life pass you by, hit me like a punch. I can directly attribute your positivity and outgoing nature to giving me the courage to make the leap. Just wanted you to know you are making a tremendously positive influence on my decision making. Cheers brother.
Do it and don't look back buddy, Do it in phases go there rent a condo do a 1 year lease, establish yourself stay for 90 days then head back, once you have a setup like this, your decision becomes easier. Cheers
I 100% agree with R S below, go and live there for 3-6-12 months. Get a home base or live in 4-5 places for a couple of months each and experience it. At the end you will know the answers to all your questions of should you do it, when and where.
Chris, just watched this tonight and cried like I did when I watched the video when you went up into the hills. During COVID we were sending $20AUD per week to the Living Waters and lifebag projects. I felt like I was being a cheapskate but at the time it was what we could afford and i figured at least it was consistent! Then you went into the mountains and I saw that the $20 per week we’d been sending was enough to provide accommodation for a student like the beautiful young lady you interviewed with her dad. And I felt so proud to have been able to contribute- because what I thought was a little bit, someone else thought was a lot 💙💙 we’ll be back in April and hope to visit Living Waters while we’re there. Thanks 🙏
As a Thai, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks everyone and teams for their contribution for the forgotten Thai community. Hill tribes people are poor, yet they view life differently from a lot of us do. We can learn a lot from them. Chris, you have no idea how much you influence people to follow your path. Thanks again!
Hi Chris. I want to thank you as your channel was the reason i decided after a 10 year nonstop corporate rat race, to finally take a break and fly my family for the first time outside of Europe and to magical Thailand. This trip was an eye opener for me. When in Thailand it hits you. You realize whats important in life and whats not. Experiencing the happiness and blissfulness of the Thai way of life is something i will never forget. Life can and should be simple. This is a lesson I would never have gotten if it wasn't for those 2 weeks. My life goals changed the moment i returned from my trip. I will retire in Thailand. This is now my only life goal. Thank you Chris, you are an inspiration.
Ouf, amazing video. Yes, I cried when that little girl talked, and to see the raw emotions as she talked. You could feel the father so much also. Great inspirational presentation. Thank you so much. Being in Canada is so hard with all the ridiculous, the stupidity, the hate, the attitudes. As 60 crept in , I told my wife I can't live like that anymore. Plans being made in the next years hopefully... Their mindset in Thailand is so optimistic, how can that make you not want to go on in life? Breath of fresh air...
@jokowithegreatpresident2203 President Joko, I don't think it's very nice to talk about your neighbours in that manner. Malaysia is a wonderful country that I have good friends from. If my country spoke about Indonesia in such a way I am sure you would be offended.
Life can be difficult. When you feel overwhelmed and feel like giving up, dont do it. Never lose hope. Good things happen to positive people, not negative ones. Overcome life's challenges and enjoy your life.
Very touching and moving video I must admit my eyes filled with tears listening to the young gurl in the village with her struggles getting to school and her pure love for her parents . Your an inspiration sir . Never stop doing what you do .
Very inspiring, exceptional public speech. We are all wrapped up in things that really aren’t that important. Nice one Chris. All the best Bob, Joy and Bella.
What a beautiful video. Thank you for what you're doing Chris. So much wisdom and a reminder to all of us to help just one person. I got a bit teared up.
Ahhh Chris!! You are an inspiration!! Thank you for helping us make our decision to be a part of the Thai community. We are coming to Thailand in about 2 years when we turn 60. We love what you are doing in that you are paying it forward and helping the communities in which you live. I hope when we get there we can join in and work with you helping the beautiful Thai people. Keep up the wonderful work! Hope to someday meet you.
Chris We leave the uk next week for a 3 week trip including volunteering at a school which is a reckie trip to prepare for a full 12 months commitment to give back and find purpose! We say 12 months but tha hope is to commit the rest of our lives to this! You are absolutely unique in ur delivery of LIFE! I love the idea of JOY and i wake up every day sit on the edge of my bed and breath in my joy and gratitude x secretly hoping to bump into u while we are there 🙏❤️
thank you Chris for sharing your lessons and insight with us. The message reminds us to be more outward mindset and care about others. Our world needs this.
What I love about Thailand there is much so hardship, yet most find something to smile about every day. I love you Chris you are a true renaissance man making a difference in the world! I hope many are inspired by this video. Great No Ted talk mate. I wish there were more like you.
Thank you for this. ❤ Your channel is truly an inspiration for me. I plan to live in Thailand one day and you’re living proof that it’s possible. Keep it up and keep paying it forward. You reminded me today to thank my lucky stars ✨ 🍻
Inspirational Chris This video has made me reflect on my journey through your channel Watching the first video and thinking this guy has passion. It became an obsession to watch your videos. As time moved along in the pandemic, watching the videos of @5starmarine and you and the Living waters Projects. How Lucas made Shaun go and feed the family when he had no food bags left. That inspired me to join RW4Y as BOD and Commit to contributions to Living Waters via Shaun. I then came back to Thailand and went out with 5 Star Marine as we should reward the people that have helped the communities we love. 3 trips later and Im sitting here, thinking how you have changed my perspective to Thailand and how much of Thailand I still need to see and do One thing on the Bucket List is to meet you and Adam. I thought it was going to happen 2 weeks ago but Pai was a much more important time for you and your family than meeting up with a few BODS. Thank you for bringing Thailand into out homes and giving us all different perspectives. You, Adam and Shaun are amazing people and hopefully Thailand realises this.....
Great talk Chris. I love what you do promoting Thailand and helping groups n communities. Great that you saw your mum n dad over Christmas- a little payback for you and Haelee.😊
Really enjoyed this Chris, I shed a little tear when they little girl was speaking won't lie.... I come to Thailand a couple times yearly on Holiday as the place I run to to help my mental health and it's a dream to move there and to somehow try to find a way to add value to the people and country that has helped me. But my options are limited for making money and things and I'm somewhat of an anxiety riddled Introvert lol I would love to connect over some lunch sometime in future to take in some knowledge from yourself. You've made a great success of this channel and it's been awesome following you and seeing the good you do and how positive you always are about the country I love, the tourist board should hire you as an ambassador.
Been watching your channel from its earliest days Chris. You are a positive dude putting a little good out into the world a bit at a time. I’m middle aged, nearing retirement and have been contemplating my next chapter. I’ve had a successful life and feel it’s right and fair that I give back a little. These videos are an inspiration and you’ve become like a Canuck Guru for me. Good on ya brother! 😉 -From a US neighbor
Chris, been here since before you had 500 subs. THIS is one of the finest videos you have ever done. An inspiration for anyone. I hope to come to Thailand 2024, and meet the man who inspired me. Thank you...
Nice to see you discovered and are enjoying your new place in life as well as paying it forward. I too am retired and am living in Thailand. I am not as active as you in paying it forward, although you are inspiring me to help where I can.
well done Chris. keep up the fun, humanitarian work and of coarse your blogs. you keep in it real, time to be silly, time to have more than one to many beers and of coarse to be serious. you throw a whole mixture in there which I'm sure makes you unpredicle which everyone likes.
Might be the best video you've ever done, Chris. Thanks for all you (and those who help you) do for the poorer communities of Thailand. Very kind. Unfortunately, I missed the vid you did with the community in northern Thailand, but I'll look for it. Thanks again!
Hello, Chris! Firstly, I am an INFJ; meaning: I rarely speak, and I never kiss a**. I have been watching your videos for almost 3 years now. Yes, I loved all the information you provided, the positive vibes, and just how nice you seemed to be. MY personal story is not meant to be shared in a public forum, nor does it even matter anymore. But I love how you made it work for you. Except, your videos have given me just a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, I could also enjoy a few good years, in a wonderful place, among wonderful people; to feel true happiness, and yet still contribute more to others - not only to the ones who have videos, but to those who just want to smile, and be happy. Like myself… And with this video, you proved why I FELT and thought there was something ‘else’ about you which I liked. In none of your videos did I ever see hubris, self-gratification / glory - nothing, except just loving life, enjoying it, and being grateful to every single person who deserves it. You are successful…. The kind of man I tried to be. And because of you, I had hope. Thank you! Not complaining now: I made a choice to give all my liquid, hard and real assets away, so all I have now is monthly retirement funds. If I am lucky, I hope to be able to get there someday soon; to just live a little, but give back more; and to pay it forward. Thank you for making this video. I wish you many more successes, and that I could help you accomplish even more. Love is the answer to everything…..
Thank you Chris you are a inspiration and a great person for all that you do for Thailand and our people we’re big fans great presentations thank you 🙏 to you and your families
You have high inspiring energy ,respect the creativity of you and your grandchildren, your team, another really important thing is you guys are such a good people. Think about what those people are like. If no one like you guys came to help. You give them a chance to have a good life. May my country see this and reward you for what you have always done and what you plan to do in the future.
Awesome TED Talk, Chris 👏👏👏👏👏. Loved that Family & Friends concept! You're so inspiring, man, and we think very much alike. My wife and I have plans to go live in SE Asia, maybe Thailand or somewhere in Indonesia, so hopefully one day we'll all sit down for a coffee or brunch. Take care, Chris, and thank you so much for all you do 🙏!!
Chris I have been living in Bangkok for 4 years now.. I can’t tell you how much you inspire me to give back… I have some difficulty finding ways to do it on a larger scale for example with accredited organizations but I want to contribute more to our big Thai family… if you know any shortcuts please let me know I believe I could organize a decent amount of people to join and contribute…. I’m sure your busy but if you get inspired to respond that would be amazing… keep it up your a good human ka ❤
I followed you from the beginning, and your you tube vids helped alot. When your channel started I had just gotten married to a Thai woman and we now have a 2 year old son. We have traveled back and forth from Ontario and we are slowly making the transition to live here. I have had doubts along the way and your video has reinforced everything I love about being here and taking chances and risks in leaving my psychotherapy practice in canada and relocate. I agree don't let life pass you by or waite to long to live.
Your inspirational vlogs got me through the pandemic. You brought to life our connection to Thailand. Can’t wait to arrive in May with my Teenee App to really appreciate Thailand on another level. You’re a great human being Chris. Thank you for your great work ❤️ from Australia
Really wonderful presentation and message! I can see you on TedX someday soon if you choose it. I am in CNX, and I love it! Thanks for continually providing us with great content.
I assume you are a very busy person watching all you do on your videos . My buddy Ocean and I have been spending time here for about 10 years. Both of us old hippies I am 81 and Ocean is 74. Ocean spent many years searching for community in his converted bus. He checked out many communes and joined a few including the Love Family in Seattle. Both he and I feel a sense of community here more so than in our lives in America. I would enjoy hanging with you sharing our village vibe here in Phu Phan, Sakon Nakhon, arguably the Mendocino of Thailand. I think the world might benefit by learning about life in Thailand. I had an experience I can’t forget on one of my early trips to Ayutthaya . I was riding in a hired car with darkened windows going about 120 kph when we passed a truck with a half a dozen Thais in the back. They could not see me and they could not talk at the speed we were going. Why were they all smiling? I thought, wow, something is right here! Working on my house, Ocean is building a boat. My kind of retirement. Any time you wander this way please stop and visit. Don.
Hiya C.J. 🤗 been following from the getgo doing push ups at Moonstone 555. Your channel grew so well from that point on, and why? Well, you where in a country where we wanted to go and be in but could not get into. We where all stuck. Amyhow, during the 2 years of being stuck and watchin you share the amazing Thai community, the people who needed help and contibuted to your PIF's. yeah happy to contribute in some of those projects buddy 💪 Such a great possitive guy, giving us the insides and energy to puch on. You inspired uss and did a PIF ourselves from our own pocket in 2021, and we will not let time pass us by, so the goal and plan is to retire and move to the kingdom when we are young and start a new life :) helping the Thai community and make things better for others. Keep up what you do best and some day we will meet as Awkward buddys ;) and share some stories with a nice cold Leo. And as always Khun Chris, C Ya in the next one, cheers 🙌🍻
Chris, you already know it but it can't be said too much, you are an inspiration. I am at the beginning of my journey with you. It's bound to be a profound one. I watched this as we're all heading into our next trip around the sun (nye '23) and you are making sure I'll do better to make the next one count. Thanks Mate (well I am an Aussie) Happy New Trip Around The Sun to your and your closest.
You are amazing bro 😎🙏 thank you for everything you done ✅ to help Thai people and all your awesome 🤩 videos I’m long time subscribers never skip your videos ❤
Love listening to you Chris..;0) because of you and RW4U.. I took my own 1 in a million chace to change the cause I was stuck on. It meant cutting my ties with a thai family I'd grown to love ovè 15yrs...:0( Since then I've met you and your family.. been to the moonstone.. become friends with many other BODs creating many new roads - leading to a happier life. The best of all is that I've managed to find the younger ME.. and to be myself once again. ALL thanks to you and that 1 in a million chance. Your my real life hero Chris. Big love and respect man. Take good care fella Simon.. jack Sparrow
I can totally relate! Its been a very strange sequence of events that has led me to end up living and working in trang. Life has to be a bit of an adventure I reckon.
Hi Chris, l am from SF Bay area and l am impressed by your channel & what you have been doing in Thailand! I’m new here but will always be around to support it. You are awesome! Chong, Tom
Hi Chris, I was moved by the story of the young girl and her father. What you are doing and saying makes all sense 👏 👌. Hopefully, I'm not long to go before I become a full-time native of the mango, and yes, I want to see more and help people of the Land of Smiles . Keep safe and well.
@RetiredWorkingForYou673 Hi Chris, I'm sorry im trying to understand how to contact you I'm not sevy with this technology. I'm good with WhatsApp or Line.
I can't always do a lot for the people around, but I always try to do a little for them. There are some people that gather on my street that have so little that I feel compelled to give them some baht here and there, go buy them a bottle of water or take them some food to eat. I am not doing nearly as much as you are doing, but every time I do a little, I feel that I am helping them. That is what it is all about, helping others have it just a little bit better and I get to be part of that. Thai people don't seem to have the opportunities that I took for granted when I was growing up. I just want to spread a little bit of happiness to the people around me when I can.
Aloha RWFY. Super job on the presentation Like I spoke with you at one of your meet ups your attitude and persona have let you share energy that has compounded with others likeminded who can and really want to be part of your enlightened desire to enjoy life while helping others in living there lives . Mahalo. Erol
Thank you Chris for the paying it forward initiative you started especially with the Karen people. I am half Karen but live in Australia. Keep up the good work mate. ❤️🙏🏿👍🏿

As a Thai, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks everyone and teams for their contribution for the forgotten Thai community.

I am not sure how to text you. I tried but no luck
I am on line and of course email.
Thank you Chris. You're an Inspiration and I feel a good person. Most heartfelt good wishes man

Love listening to you Chris..;0) because of you and RW4U.. I took my own 1 in a million chace to change the cause I was stuck on. It meant cutting my ties with a thai family I'd grown to love ovè 15yrs...:0(
Since then I've met you and your family.. been to the moonstone.. become friends with many other BODs creating many new roads - leading to a happier life. The best of all is that I've managed to find the younger ME.. and to be myself once again. ALL thanks to you and that 1 in a million chance.
Your my real life hero Chris.

Brilliant job CHRISTOPHER
Hi Chris, I was moved by the story of the young girl and her father. What you are doing and saying makes all sense 👏 👌. Hopefully, I'm not long to go before I become a full-time native of the mango, and yes, I want to see more and help people of the Land of Smiles .
Keep safe and well.
@RetiredWorkingForYou673 Hi Chris, I'm sorry im trying to understand how to contact you I'm not sevy with this technology.
I'm good with WhatsApp or Line.
Incredible Chris good to know you are speaking on this I need to take your advice 👍👍🆒🆒
What an amazing presentation and most of all your amazing outlook on life. Inspirational
@danbang9238 Unsure just what and where I can find telegram?
