What vaccinations do u recommend for visiting Thailand from USA? No one ever addresses this…CDC has recommended list…but what is the reality around that? Thanks in advance!

I am moving to a tiny village, 27 family members. My SS check will not only support us all, but build up their village. It does not take much to uplift a tiny village. You don't need Health Insurance in Thailand IMO. Going to the Hospital or paying for medication out of pocket is the cheapest most convenient option. If you get into the most expensive accident, spend a month in the ER, cat scan, surgery, etc, it will end up costing the same as 1yr of insurance. Doesn't make sense if you're an average healthy person. The only reason it exists is because certain long term visas require it.

Just had two fillings repaired in Brisbane Australia. Nearly $1k AUD. For repairs, not a filling. And when I told the dentist I had thought about visiting Thailand, primarily to visit my uncles war grave, but to get dental work done whilst there, well the negative comments about thai dentists was out there. After seeing the prices you paid I am now convinced Ned Kelly is alive and well and went to dental school in Brisbane.

The law only applies to those LIVING in Thailand for at least 180 per calendar year. Fortunately, we already own land in Hua Hin and will be building the house prior to moving (IE living) to Thailand. That's a plus. Once we move there, I'll only pay taxes on the money I bring in...but at 35%, which sucks. I could theoretically just bring in only what will be required to have in a Thai bank for those on a marriage visa. After that, I withdraw once every other week from a U.S. bank from a Thai ATM. How they (Thai tax men) gonna know? Anyhow, I'm not gonna stress about it. As the guy said toward the end, there's gonna be some changes. No point in crying over spilled milk that won't be spilled (by me) for another 13 years.
