    Structural design should not be prescriptive. For column design, you didn’t consider :
    1. Braced or unbraced column;
    2. Column span and column moment generated;
    3. Column height and hence its slenderness;
    4. Impose live load . Factory is much heavier than residential ;

    If one wants to build a G + 2 building, Can one then start the foundation with the 12x12 inches column size of 8 steel rods 16mm for the ground then use column 12x9 inches with 6 steel rods 4x16mm and 2 x 12mm for the first floor and then finally use 9x9 inches of 4 rods of 12 mm? Just reversing through.
