The oldest church in North America is in Mexico from the 1530s and also the Spanish colony of St Augustine in Florida which dates from around 1565 before the arrival of the English and French..
Well done. Truly an artistically created video highlighting an even more impressive artistic and historical piece of our history. Thank you for the effort.
Another nice story 👌
Thanks for sharing your great information about Montreal monument
Love my Montreal 🇨🇦❤️
Wow I didn't know that church.
People can be weird sometimes, they covered all the gem in that church thinking it was too old and it was time to refresh this place. Another good job as always 👍
Thank you! She's a beauty, you'll have to see it for yourself when possible!
@@DiscoverMontréal It was downright a sin to hide her frescoes.
I will not fail to visit it, that's for sure.
J aime vos vidéos ; un vrai livre d'histoire.
Très belle église pour l'avoir visité en 2019 .
Montréal hâte de pouvoir y retourner.
Merci
Beautiful
Love it
Any chance of doing a video on the Metro?
100% I look forward to crafting that one!
@@DiscoverMontréal If you need stuff from the airport one day, I have that, straight from the ramp (PET). See my page and I have over 100 montages, not all posted😎
@@victorjr9341 Thank you! I’ll let you know if I do :)
Gorgeous! Montreal preserves its past while toronto tears it down and builds ugly condos - and calls itself "world class."
You forgot to mention the hearts the sailors gave to the Virgin Mary that are located on either side of the altar. That is a special detail besides the boats. As well, we say 'trompe l'oeil' in English too.
Encore une autre belle vidéo, que de richesse est Montréal, chanceux d’être venu au monde ici, que de fierté et d’amour pour cette ville
First functioning church was built in Tadoussac, and it's still there. 'La chapelle de Ste. Anne' - Saint Anne's Chapel was built by a Jesuit who went down to Québec City to borrow some 300 'livres' to build the church. It was granted on the condition that a mass to honor Ste. Anne be said once a year in perpetuity. The chapel is still there, but they deconsecrated it in order to build a post-modern abortion just a few meters up the hill from the chapel. However, the chapel is still there - a tourist attraction of course - and the local priest does say mass on the feast of Ste. Anne every year. I believe it's sometime in early July or August...
I believe my 8-Great Grandparents were married there in 1685
Wow that’s incredible!
La ville au 100 clochers
