- Installation of the SC14 Supercharger into the BMW M44B19 Engine - Making it the Largest ever Supercharger with over one and a half liters of displacement, installed on one of these 4 Cylinder BMW's. We are using our pre production final prototypes of the HMW V4 M.O.A.B. system that supports both the BMW M42/M44 as well as retrofit support for the BMW M43 & M40 Engines.
This is the final in our 4 part video series about the H.M.W. Mother of All Brackets.
Introducing the HMW V4 (M.O.A.B) - A project to supercharge the 4 cylinder BMW's such as the M42, M43 & M44 found in the 318ti and 316i and 318is. We are using an AMR500 (500cc) and the SC14 (1.4L) making it the largest SC kit available on these motors; All while retaining the stock manifold!

which is better in performance and modifications M44 or M42 ?
The M42 would be a more solid engine to build on due to the block and also being OBD I its maybe easier to tune. But either way if you are building them (headgasket and headbolts and such) you cant go wrong with either one. They are both nice.

Hey, i have a m44 swapped e30, im about to add standalone ecu and supercharger.. can i reach 250hp on crank with m45 sc? Or i should get m62 instead? Danke schön
Hello! I would say you definitely should get the small body M62 (also supported by the MOAB) or Just go with the SC14 MOAB. They can support 250 - 300 if the motor can handle it. The M45 may max out around 200-220, similar to the AMR500. Sie sind herzlich willkommen :)

Depending on the Supercharger anywhere from 50 - 150 hp on top of the stock motor. so 200-300 should be doable with the right tune

What kind of mods would you recommend doing to the engine to prevent it from blowing up when running it at a higher PSI? Can't wait to order this...
With this u can beat on stock wont blow up i had turbo charged 370hp hold no problems

Can you drive it with the pulley clutch dissengaged, does it pass enough air for the engine without spinning?
You would need to make a bypass valve most likely if you planned to disengage the sc

Hi, Yes we are selling them at our official Hyde Motor Works shop. very well priced...as for power..so the AMR500 Kit will see 5PSI or so, Good for about 50-60HP more at least, while the SC14 can push from 10 - 20PSI or so, really for a motor that can handle twice the power output. you will have a run down here - hydemotorworks.com/shop/product/v4-supercharger-kits/
Any potential for an M10 setup? Would be cool for 2002, e21, e28, and e30 owners.

What can a stock m44 handle? Or do you place thicker headgasket? No feel for changing pistons or rods or crank....
Its best not to push a stock engine beyond 8-10PSi and even that is with a good tune. Building it with some thicker headgasket to lower the compression and having some studs and bolts would be ideal to push the engine higher.
The only thing I have a question about is do you have to change the engine management system or injectors?
Hi, most people since long (dasc days) to my knowledge seem to have used just an rising rate fpr and an afr wideband sensor as their tune, there is always the option to do better by adding larger injectors and a tune, if its obd 1 m42 you can use the ostrich 2 piggyback and rom raider to tune it, they are worth some $200 or so..m44 will have obd 2 and will require a flash. Really a good tune goes a long way to max your power and overall engine performence..

Yes how ever you need to convert to serpentine belt system from newer models as e36 and not older v belt. There is a upcoming pdf guide for that. Feel free to email us

We are using an SC14 here, not and AMR500, SC14 typically costs $600 +
