  • ACA 500 extra cutting compound and the ACA 520 finishing polish tutorial. Start with a clean car and a wool pad. Apply the ACA 500 to the wool pad and buff it into the cars surface.
    Buff the product in till you don’t see anymore scratches on your vehicle. Next use ACA 520 on a cutting polishing pad. biff the ACA 500 into where you used the ACA 500 and the wool pad. Last wipe it down with a microfiber towel and you’re done.
    To fill on your scratches try: 3dproducts.com/products/3d-ac... , and 3dproducts.com/products/3d-ac...

    A tutorial on how to use a Rotary and not burn through the clear would be good, especially since you have an expert. He made it look easy, but I've seen so many screwed up clear coats, especially on edges. It's so easy to burn through the clear. It's one thing if you are a body shop, you just repaint it, costs money, but it can be done fairly cheaply and quickly. But a detailer burns through the clear and there goes all of his profit+ on that paint correction having to pay for an entire panel to be repainted.

    • @3DCarCare
      @3DCarCare  Před 5 lety +1

      The 520 is going to be a finer finish, but will not leave any protection. The 505 will live a protective layer.

      505 has a wax-like protection in it. 520 is a straight polish that will need a wax applied after you finish polishing.

      @@3DCarCare my apologies for not being thorough with my comment. it looks fine after the second step but the paint unless it has a low hardness level should not look like it did at 1:38 after the first step. that look after compounding may of been understandable in the 20th century but not today. only very faint holograms at most should be present not
      those heavier holograms and swirls. I am pedantic and fussy about my products of choice but its the best way to be. polish formulations need a big evolution or a revolution.

      @@3DCarCare ive not tested anything newer than aat 501 and 502 and yes they corrected quick but finished not as good as my main go to. Its not about how quick the job got done, its all about the finish and leaving either no marring/holograms with the first step or the shallowest/finest hologramming that will come out in one pass of the next pad for more time to enhance the paint. As for abrasive tech, alot of companies have great abrasives now but the formulations of most are still terrible and some still use crystalline silica or use kerosene to aid in cutting by softening the paint (so ive been told by many) whether dearomatised kerosene or others and are water in oil formulas not oil in water formulas. Getting rid of cheap solvents like naptha/stoddard solvent cyclohexasiloxane from skin care industry (carcinogenic) glycerin and hydrogen treated distillate (64742-55-8 carcinogenic) and using far higher quality lubricants and new type of abrasive material for quicker defect removal at ultra low machine speeds on any machine but with a better finish than alum oxide would be great and a true water based formula. A Solvent based formula will never match a water based polish for overall gloss. I need to test 3d one next. I never get haze with microfibre pads yet many do. Ps lots of wool pad tech out there, love to get someone to make pads from ultra fine grade tasmanian wool of 12-16 micron or less, have been talking with a producer about their wool but dont have the funds to make it happen..id also like a pad developed that corrects paint a little stronger than wool and microfibre but runs cool and finishes like a foam pad or close. Universal pad idea ive had for over a decade i think we will get too eventually but not there yet.

      We switched from 3M compound to 3D 501 (AAT) at ny shoppe last year and my friend, I tell you, there is literally zero reason to still be using 3M compound. We use less product, there's way less dust, the cleanup is much easier, and it has a long working time (doesn't break down as easily). Currently doing research on these ACA products to see if they're better than the AAT.
