    One of the problems is Amazon signing on nearly anyone at all, with any length in business, with any truck that can pass a DOT inspection. This causes a pool of under capitalized, inexperienced operations that can only work at a few places, so desperate for money and so inexperienced at determining what their actual costs are that they do not know that by taking loads under about $100 per hour, they are slowly going bankrupt. It's just a matter of time. As soon as one goes bankrupt, Amazon signs on another.... this pool of bottom feeders drags down rates for everyone else in the system.

      I agree… I saw two trucks here in the SLC area doing local work. One never has any lights on the trailer. He has lights on tractor but never the trailer. The other 2X headlights are out; like never on even on surface streets at night. Just moving trailers from building to building. He also didn’t have no Mudflaps and tires were not DOT spec.

      I was just telling my buddy the exact same thing. Also, there’s no way majority of these people are compliant. These bottom feeders are putting me out of work.

    The rates are even worse now I haven't been taking out loads because the diesel and rates were cut so low. I go to Arizona a lot and the rate are horrible. I figure a lot of owner operators will be going out of business soon because they won't be able to save for the expenses or just will not be making enough money as a career. I saw a couple Amazon loads that were ok but when I tried to book them it just kept bouncing me out until they were booked by someone else.

    Same here in Vegas unfortunately. But I've been doing one way loads, way better pay and I don't mind finding something on the way back from DAT load board if I have to. I do wonder how Amazon expects a solo driver to complete a 1200 mile run in 26 hours lol Not sure if they're posting it in error or if the times are adjusted after booking. So I'm trying to find the answer on that one. However, they give you plenty of time running one way within 600 miles. Just doesn't make sense to me lol

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  Před 2 lety

      I was able to get one corrected one time. Make a case and report as Amazon scheduling error and it was fixed. Others I spoke said otherwise tho… I guess it’s a hit and miss thing.

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  Před 2 lety +1

      Based on what I’m seeing Denver seem to be way below market average. Even in the DAT LoadBoard; anything that picks up in the Colo area is horrible rates. Amazon do offer somewhat OK rates with their short term contract.

      @IntangibleStudd59 Před rokem

      You'll either be backing into a door or into a parking spot. Backing up is a necessity in trucking. Just start doing it and you'll get the hang of it. Repetition is key.

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  Před 2 lety +1

      When it comes to Las Vegas. Local work on the Relay App is not great unless you lock in some type of local contract with Amazon but from the looks of it; I’m seeing two different companies already have that locked. So your chances on getting local work here and there gets even slimmer because you have so many carriers fighting over the left over local work that pops up on the Relay App

    Will they allow a single axle day cab? There website mentions day cabs but doesn’t specify single axle or double axle

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  Před 2 lety

      I’ve seen people picking with single axles. I don’t know if they specifically check. I think it’s not a problem right now because not many run single axle and hasn’t been an issue with their loads at the scale. I think the more single axle trucks on the platform the more a possibility to get caught overweight which could make Amazon to rule them out. There are some loads that are 25K in the box which might put you over with a single axle depending on weight distribution.
