I made $192000 and company lost $11000 this this is me doing amazon and other load boards ive been in this for 3 years and I think im done its a headache and when I watched your video and you make 66000 it confirms that I should give it up and go back to a company I think il make more $$$ and no headache only thing I loose is freedom of woking when I want and that's it. in 2024 you might make half of what you made in 2023.
I appreciate how transparent you are bro. I know there are people who are hating on you here but don’t mind the haters and keep moving forward to achieve your goals and dreams.
That's a great first year brother 🍻. Your insurance will go down over time. Just started the third year of my authority and mine is down to 500 per month and my truck is paid for. My overhead is super low now.. I run about the same amount of miles as you but I do tanker. Best of luck to you.
@@devran4912 yes.. I'm with Great West. 60k trailer interchange for the tankers, 100k cargo, 1 Mill liability, and 47k for the tractor. I think it's about the best company to go with.
Great advice, buy a cash truck 10-25k from early 2000s or the 90's. Those trucks are harder to find but theyre out there! Also, the guy drives an old honda civic thats dirt cheap to own and drive. Guys like this will survive in tough markets.
Hey man i retire from the military next year. I plan on going into the trucking business to. Plan to get one yr experience while doing skillbridge then run under my own authority out of Houston. I looked at amazon relay as well
good stuff Manny! dang that insurance and high diesel price are eating into the profits unfortunately SMH! but looks like a really good run for your first year bro, keep it up! can only get better from here. also looking forward on you checking out the Australia trucking market as an American those videos sound like they'll be really cool! best wishes from a future truck driver (DMV Test 2/8/24)
My man wants to invest in doing this with me, and I've agreed... I'm completely new to this, so I'm looking for information and the benefit of experience from everywhere... Your insight is invaluable... Thank you so much. ❤
These haters are giving you a hard time for only making a median wage net after all that headache and grind. I think you are gaining priceless experience AND netting a living wage. You’ll adapt, adjust, and make more money with less effort because you’re on the ground, doing it and getting it. 👊🏼
So basically you made more than 66k because you bought another truck for 10k plus the equipment for another 3k so more towards 80k but you invested some money back in the business.
My situation was alot faster. My first few videos when I got active authority was with Amazon. I understand since then alot of changes were made and people are in a wait period to get on boarded.
I mentioned it in few videos. If you met the 6 months requirement it looks Amazon is still holding off it looks it until another peak such as "prime day". There are many others still waiting as well
I have my load board as well do you think leasing on owner ops is a good idea or too risky due to the fact they can mess up the score with Amazon? I’m debating
I have seen alot of companies running Amazon scale up that way. Alot of drivers were making anything in oilfield so they leased to an Amazon carrier. I'm trying to lease drivers on but drivers want everything for the free.
If you were to hire a driver, would you make anything after expenses? I Have a day cab and thinking about putting it on with amazon and hireing a driver. Is this feasible? Thanks in advance, God Bless @mannyactual
Yes. I had $1200 with a prior commercial insurance but they got rid of there commercial insurance dept. So progressive was my only option. They raised it to $2300. But I got quoted for $1500 for my 2005 Volvo. So the year of truck does make a difference as well as driving years. I will be making a change on other Volvo soon.
hey will amazon let you use an older truck like a 1992 freightliner or you would need an newer truck i was told some companies want you to have a new truck
There is no age restriction to run Amazon . As long as you are a registered and insured carrier with the trailer interchange coverage your good. There are plenty of cabovers and older running.
How many years you have to wait before ups will hire you for truck driver position. 3-5 to years. Waste of time. Year 3 of my insurance is coming up and my insurance will drop to where I can pay the whole year and not move the truck and my DOT number has aged. This grind I wouldn't change anything.
Guys, u oil price might be $1 u still ain’t making no good take home money. President don’t change your life individual do it themselves. But ppl don’t learn .
You clowns act like trump is gonna come in and magically change everything, u forget trump inherited a good economy under obamas administration, and it all went to shit under him as well, remember who paid out the first stimulus checks and remember under who the lockdowns happened
It's not so much what you make, but what you keep...however, repairs are unpredictable. It's easy to spend 5 to 10k on a repair bill, tires etc
Great job man ! Thanks for sharing 🙏blessing
You made a lot of Great points, and thanks for sharing.

I don't like the true numbers but I like the freedom to do what I want when I want and be able to go home after loads.

Reach back out to the military on classified deliveries

Everything I spent was also a tax write off
Man that's nothing
Even regular driver can make that money, without all the stress with repairing a truck
You say that’s nothing but he only drove 74k miles that’s 2.30 a mile average
@@mikeytello2878 Some drivers are payed hourly with low mileage per year
Dang. I made 88k as company driver. Guess I'll stay put. Thanks for info.
Smart decision.
With Amazon?
So, basically, you made less than a company driver, with all of the headaches.

How many days did you work last year?
Great video! How long after your numbers went active did you have to wait to get started with Amazon Relay?

What about taxes, Uncle Sam..
Did you say you’re paying $2300/month to keep your DOT active? And is your insurance so high because you didn’t have any prior driving experience?

What does the real number look like after taxes cause i run Amazon as well
Trust me. They won't look good.
Would you let drivers with their own truck drive w amazon under your authority?
