Greetings mortals! I'm Remortis, welcome to the channel. This is my updated Lockadin build guide for Baldur's Gate 3!

Hopefully this guide will help you understand what to choose as you level up, and why. And of course, if you have any questions, feel free to comment below! I'll answer the best I can!

Hey folks! It's been awhile! Tryin' out a new theme in the early part of the vid. Let me know what you think!
I'm finding it's harder for me to consolidate a lot of my info into shorter vids. Clearly, I can ramble on and on for these guides but no one wants to listen to that! haha
personally I like getting extra info
I love it! But I would like you to talk more about the equipment in each of the acts, or at least the equipment in the last act hahaha
Thank you for revisiting these guides and updating them for the recent patches and Honor mode!
Just to say the extra attack from the blade pact does still stack with other sources in tactical mode, just not honor mode
confirmed
From all the channels out there, I found out that your videos are the most I like! Thank you very much for the dedication you put into the animations of your character, the well structured time stamps, and the attention you give in the comment section. We appreciate you a lot, and I'm gonna sub now! ^^
Cheers!
Great to see you back!
Are used Paladin / Warlock for Minthara with the head canon that her Great Old One patron was The Absolute. She’s eager to use tadpole powers, and The Absolute can grant power. Minthara attacking with charisma rather than strength also made sense to me. I think of her as small but absurdly quick and strong for her size. It’s her mad self confidence (and the power she’s drawing from somewhere) that makes her a terror.
Astarion as a GOO Warlock drawing power from his tadpole also makes sense, though of course, he is not a Paladin type.
Definitely using the Oathbreaker/GOO multiclass for Minthara in my Evil Durge run. Glad I found this video
Lockdin is my favourite build , thanks you!
As someone who started with Oath of Vengeance for their Honour Mode run, I can say with certainty that passing the Intimidation check to keep Mayrina and get the hag's hair will not save you from breaking your oath, because Ethel gets away because of your decision. I was planning on Oathbreaker regardless though, and I had a REALLY fun time at one point where my Spectator from the Iron Flask got shadow-cursed and reanimated as an Undead, and I managed to seize control of it with my Oathbreaker power. It was fun, we immediately went to Balthazar prior to crossing the threshold and had a ton of fun dismantling his army together (good thing the eye beams were still usable). Sadly I don't think you can replicate this anymore due to recent patches
Oathbreaker with that headband that make your undead ally resistant to all form of damage except psychic and also give animate dead, alongside necromancy of thay’s quadruple ghoul. These are peak Oathbreaker gameplay with literally zero spell slot expended 😂
Also Im not sure it’s because I use Rebalanced Class Spell mod, but I doubt it affects anything, but the Extra Action given by the Pact of Blade stacks with the regular Extra Attack that you get at lvl 5. Correct me if I’m wrong tho, do they not count as the same Extra Attack or something because my Paladin have three attacks, so I can basically use Divine Smite three times in a row without any of those niche particular & specific set up(s) nor any items nor elixir. Kinda like Thief’s second bonus action
@@SordidusFellatioFrom what I understand, no, they don't count as the same thing. However, they don't stack in Honour Mode so you're only doing 2 attacks, which is why when I did my Death Knight build I ended up forgoing the 5th level in Warlock and went 8/4 Oathbreaker/Great Old One so I could get that third feat
I actually managed to get both the hair and kill Aunty Ethel with my Oath of Vengeance Paladin. I had Gale hide outside of the boss arena and got the hag’s health low enough to one shot before doing the intimidation dialogue and having her cough up the hair. Switched to Gale and he got the prompt to choose the stat bonus hair, entered turn based mode, and had him magic missile the hag.
You only get one turn to kill her this way before she runs away but the end result is you get the hair, keep your oath, and get to kill the hag. Stonks imo.
I'm doing a tactician run (which I assume would not change stuff like oath breaking) but I have Shadowheart as a vengeance paladin in my party and her oath did not break when I took Ethel's deal? (I got mayrina back too)
@@The_RiotDo I understand correctly that you can get 2 hairs with ethel?
Thanks for all the hard work. We appreciate it!
Is there any chance we could get a thrown weapon build or do you already have a video for one?
Thanks for starting with a Quick summary - and for listing alternatives along the way.
I’ve never grown fond of GWM, 1h savage attacker is more my thing 🙂
"you're basically batman, do things that batman would do and you're fine" lmao
Hell yeah, it's been a while. Nice to hear that smooth voice again!
great showcase of the builds and I like the 7/3/2 split for honor mode. Outside of Honor Mode the 7/5 Lockadin is a monster, especially with the Buld. GS (str route) or Nyrulna (bhaalist route). If you don't have any characters that will benefit from it going straight to the Bhaalist Armor in Act 3 and swapping around to Devil's Sight and Darkness is a HUGE damage boost.
Inside Honor mode however I feel like this build has been overshadowed by the BardDin (10/2) as it has a lot of the same feel, but has a whole extra bag of tricks from Bard. Though its still one of my top picks for class fantasy. :D
I just finished my first play through with Warlock. Now I want to do Dark Urge oathbreaker, n figured I'd dabble with multiclass. I don't mind playing with Warlock again.
I’m actually running a very weird take on this build where I wanted my character to be more of a magus than Paladin. Unfortunately, the only real way to imbue your attacks with magic are smites.
The plan is to
2 Fighter
5 Warlock for sight and level 3 spells slots so 6 level 3 smites every long rest
4 Paladin for smite and savage attacker plus Vow of Emmity
1 Sorcerer for shield spell (as for flavor I’m only wearing light/medium armor)
This build is also centered around Duelist Perogitive to go for Crits with savage attackers smites
Sounds like it should work out pretty well.
I favour an eight four build to get that third feat
So far, I'm sitting at 2 paladin and 5 warlock got my 2 melee attacks, 2 beams on Eldritch blast, lvl 3 spells while still getting my heavy armor and shield proficiency as well as access to smites. Unsure yet how I want to do the last 5 levels. Do the martial extra attack and warlock extra attack still stack in balanced?
Yeah they still do! It’s only honor mode that doesn’t stack
Zariel Thiefling for the extra smites?
Correct me if I'm wrong but pact of blade extra attack still stacks with other extra attacks on tactician, just not honor mode
You are correct. A few sources told me it didnt still work on tactician. my mistake
quite unfair for the warlock subclasses coz, the Paladin Subclasses have their own cool looking set of clothes while warlock only got 1.... but then again we will just change it with a better one mid 1st act...
You still get the extra attack with pally/lock in tactician... It's ONLY honor mode that takes it away..
Does it matter what warlock subclass you chose since wanna go archfey seldarine drow
Nah. Not really.
You still stack the pact weapon extra attack and extra attack on tactician or bellow...
I thought it doesn’t work in tactician. Several folks reported that to me.
@@remortisgaming it works. My currently build on tactician is a Oathbreaker 7 Great Old One 5. The same applies to Haste giving another action to you. :)
Could you tell me the optimal equipment setup for Paladin/Warlock?
Haha that’s a loaded question. My older version of this guide goes more into some of the gear.
i highly suggest practicing reading from ur script. ur flow is all ovrer the place and can be hard to comprehend u sometimes
Yup. You’re right. I’m still learning all of this. Thanks for the tip
So I'm thinking about playing honor mode but I'm curious about what you guys think about the build 2 pal 3-5 warlock and the rest going into bard either lore or sword bard
How much would you invest into pal?
@@remortisgaming 2 for smite unless you have suggestions
Just wondering if going 17 str early game and then reseting it for charisma isnt better start?
It probably is, but you can also utilize the giant growth pots if you're into that sort of thing.
Anyone else having an issue with the oath breaker not showing up in camp? I haven’t been able to reclaim my oath since act 2 and now I’m on act 3 and nothing. Keep in mind I got the tavern room for rent and still not showing up. I uninstalled the game and installed and nothing! Does anyone know how to fix it?
I've had that issue show up sometimes. It's kinda finnicky. Is it on your main or a side character?
i know if you kill him he is permanently gone
dunno how to fix your problem tho
It’s on my main. And I did killed him back in act 1 by mistake.
To top it off it’s on my first honor mode run. I do not want to restart all over again lol
@@javiergomez9320 just embrace the Oathbreak. What did you want to change in your build?
Theres no actual diff with starting as a warlock is there?
Being able to wear heavy armor.
Can you still cast eldritch blast while using a two handed weapon?
Yup! In bg3 the freehand rule to cast doesn’t apply
@@remortisgamingoh shit that's so cool. Any idea what the best martial "standard" weapon is for a pure half elf Warlock?
Currently using a Rapier but just there for when someone gets up close to me
@@TheDeadlyTikka well if you’re using pact of the blade then any 2her!
@@remortisgaming yeah think I did but want to change it now. Got some cool staffs 😅
Can you pickpocket withers in honor mode?
Yup
Do you think this is good build for honour mode ?
Absolutely.
@@remortisgaming Thanks ! When do you suggest taking first warlock level if we don't take it right away ?
@@aratv2461 it’s really up to you and if you want to delay your extra attack. Personally I like to do 2 pal into 2 lock and then Paladin. You can always respec later, but the extra damage and utility from Eldritch blast will be nice.
Endgame gear?
I showcase end-game gear in the previous build.
Can I do it with Shadowheart?
With whoever you’d like!
do barbarian fighter and cleric monk
As in a multiclass together?
should have shown starting stats like 16/14/14/8/8/14 or 16/10/14/8/10/16 do not star game with his stats...you wont hit anything..you can respec early as lvl2-3, when you get more gear..this way you at least kill things...
Ive gotta ask. How can you get 7 levels in Paladin then 5 in warlock. I thought max level was only 12? Or am i being dumb?
What's 7 + 5 friend?
@remortisgaming oh my god. Im the smartest man that ever lived.
Sorry, i failed maths 3 times for a reason lol.
@@jaykkemp3669 Totally fine man :)
sans
Yeah, huh, initiative, no one needs that. Weight capacity is wa-a-y more important
Living out my Reynauld Kleptomaniac tendencies
Why call it a lockadin when you could call it a padlock?
Because that "D" placement doesn't work
and it sounds dumb
@@MrMostlyMediocreIt works as well as merging the end of both class names. If it was a Waradin, then I get it. Padlock is way better than Lockadin
@@remortisgaming It absolutely does not. Padlock roll of the tongue better, sounds better and reads better. Lockadin is crap. It's a hard sounding word with too many syllables. And it's out of order so it's not as easy to understand when looking at the words it truncates. PALADIN and WARLOCK. Padlock. Padlock even sounds like you're saying those two words in order. Lockadin is a Frankenstein word. Ugly and wrong.
@@EvgeneXI disagree, it’s also because it sets itself up for the other combos too. Sorlockadin, bardLockadin, Sorcadin, bardadin, etc. these idioms have been around since DnD 3.5e
Looked good but the music was too much
Don't play music over a voice, especially that music
Yeah I'll turn it down next time :)
*promo sm* 😻

2 levels of sorc and you would of had a decent build there. So close, sooo close.
In sacrifice of what? I did mention the Sorlockadin in my draft of this vid but decided to cut it. The 2 level dip into sorc is neat but we’ll be lacking meta points to really make use of the metamagic.
1 lvl of stfu and you have had a decent comment. So close, sooo close
I gave up after over four minutes of repetitive pish
Pish?
What armor is Minthara wearing?
It’s a special illithid armor, I believe it’s the one you get at the Emperors hideout.
production quality is great and i hope your channel grows. as for the build and concept - weak and not worth it
How is it weak? CHA based attacks lets you focus on 1 main stat and you are incredible at talking to people. The lockadin is one of the better builds.
Not to mention getting a few spell slots back in a short rest for 2 more smites.
@@remortisgaming why going for pact weapon when you can just use str elixirs to melee and having charisma focus to chat and cast? warlock dip seems weird unless you pursue fighting in darkness, which is a neat concept covered by other guides, but it's really only worth it you challenge yourself to solo run. from my understanding, lockadin is just a gimmicky RP after the removal of extra attack stack
@@user-vr9rs5kp2u not everyone likes to rely on the elixirs.
@@user-vr9rs5kp2u mircomanaging elixirs in the game is boring af and id rather not subject myself to it
