Hex DOES NOT affect an enemies ability to hit you or cast spells. It is checks only. For example if you use hex on strength it’ll give them disadvantage on strength checks so you can more easily push them away. Hex also doesn’t affect the likely hood of you succeeding on a spell used against them if you use dexterity or wisdom hex for example. It’s good early/mid game for the extra damage. Sorry just didn’t want people being misinformed when picking that spell lol still a good choice though!
Argh! Thanks for this. Been using it the whole time for exactly the reason you listed 😆
I honestly didn't realize it didn't affect saves, thank you
The problem with BG3 RAW is that it only says ability on the tool tip, as opposed to 5e RAW that says ability checks.
You're correct, The usual use of Hex in BG3 is for damage, it procs with both your main damage and the radiant damage from Divine Smite, you can also use Hex to affect Str on an enemy and lower their chances of resisting "Shove" for example as it affects Str Checks, same with any spell that requires the enemy to do a check of any specific stat.
@@thefitgm335 yep, that's what confused me, I thought they buffed it in the game
Just to point it out, there's a girl in the lower city cemetery trying to raise her dead brother. You can be a noble oathbreaker and teach the child how to do it. Myrkul will seek revenge for your past misdeeds by raising a champion, but you can turn undead and gain the best bodyguard ever because he gets renewed temporary hit points per turn.
You must mean one of those Shepherd of the Dead that you encounter in A1 in the Mountain Pass as well as the Illithid Lair under Moonrise Towers. Those aren't champions, really, they don't even fight you with that greatsword, they just run away and summon trash undead.
@@sygmarvexarion7891 You're actually correct. I wrote that because, at the very least, when I played, this guy could renew his temporary hit points per turn. It's not like he's very useful, but most of the undead you can turn, besides at the Gauntlet of Shar, break and don’t use their abilities in any way, shape, or form, or use them in the most esoteric way. However, he did use his temp HP every turn and could be a useful tank.
@@misternyerthe dryder (act 2 half sider, half man) can be turned into and undead then be controlled. He’s very powerful and has the highest health pool out of most undead. All you have to do is not attack him on the ambush then pass a very high skill check to convince him to give you his moon lantern, he will turn undead (after he leaves you will need to find him) and then he’s free for the taking!
one thing you miss was that each level of Warlock, they get the ability to REPLACE a spell they already know with any spell they can cast in their current level. this allows you to replace a lower level spell with a 3rd level spell when you first get access to them... which allows you to take Hunger of Hadar AND Counterspell at Warlock level 5!
Ita really a nice feature but I don’t like to have reaction spells depending on warlock spell slot, or else you won’t be Able to do much
@@arkuspendragoni felt the same during my current playthrough originally. But having 2-3 counterspells every short rest is nice if you are going for longevity and not spamming long rests. It's especially good if you are doing pact of the blade since you aren't as much of a blaster and more melee oriented
@@GodleyBeast as a mix paladin and warlock I prefer to use for hadar and smites. I leave the counter spell for my wizard, sorc or bard companion
@@GodleyBeast forgot to say that when I use paladin with sorcer I use counterspell because we have more spells slots
@@arkuspendragon funny, that's what I do too!
I think counterspell is just too powerful not to have as an option.
I'm passing on the reaction a lot, but if I get something like hold person incoming on a character with poor saves, I'm countering it every time.
Correction - hex is for **ability checks** only. So it won’t affect their saving throws or attack rolls - so targeting Dex would affect their stealth rolls. How this usually plays out is that targeting wisdom or strength is typically the most useful: wisdom so they have disadvantage on perception to notice your stealth characters, or strength to have disadvantage on athletics checks for various things like getting pushed.
Also - polearm master is def a strong feat: opens up consistent ways to use an attack on your bonus action and constant attacks with your reaction.
I appreciate that you say when in the campaign an item drops! That's a huge help.
My pleasure brother!!
As a melee based attacker Devil's Sight is very good as no darkness can blind you without eating up a ring slot and you can use darkness spells to your advantage
I also dropped the aura and went 5Paladin/5Warlock/2fighter action surge is strong if your just gonna focus on crit fishing
@xxomega702buzzalini8 Plus you can go Vengeance with Fighter 2 to keep the Charisma modifier as damage!
@@xxomega702buzzalini8 this is a bit of a late reply but at what level would you put points into fighter?
@XxTheDon786xX while I'm not the dude you asked, If I'm only going 2 fighter and 10 paladin I would do the 2 levels of fighter 1st, or after lvl5 when I've already got the second attack. I would probably just wanna go vengamce paladin 5 and warlock 5 with fighter 2 at the end for action surge. But you do lose some casting ability(big whoop you don't need to extra casts)
@@CorwinS-kd6yu thanks 👌
imma be honest. having the level breakdown at the start of the video deserves my sub. Thank you. :D
I would suggest respeccing once you get the Warlock ability to use CHA for determining your melee attacks. You don't really need High STR, and its better to get your CHA to 20 and/or raise your CON for concentration checks. Finally, 2 levels of fighter at 11 and 12 gets you Action Surge.
Starting fighter gives Cons Proficency so you have a better chance of holding onto your concentration. only downside is you miss out on Aura of Hate which gets to be a pretty juicy +4 or +5 on all melee strikes in range. If you plan on running any other melee in your group AOH is going to be more value for sure.
Aura of hate does only apply to you and nearby undead. It does not apply to other party member :(
AOH only good if you have a spore Druid summoner in your party
@@OBudful AOH specifies that you need to take a "Melee weapon attack" in order to get the bonus. Most undead (Spore/Animate) make unarmed attacks so they don't get the bonus, even if its listed as an active buff in their sheet. I'd call this a bug given the stipulation, but AOH looks to be pretty trash atm. it really needs to be reworded to melee damage, and include party members.
@@bobnewkirk7003+5, 6 or even 7 to all your melee attacks is worth powering up a fiend that is eligible and in an even rarer case undeads that are eligible imo
I got in to the habit of instantly giving you likes on all your videos i watch, simply for the reason of you respecting our time with your "TL:DW" sections, major thanks man!
Really interesting build, might run this on my Evil Dark Urge playthrough. Just a heads up, if you're fine with waiting until Act II, another way to increase your strength is to talk with Araj Oblodra, the Drow merchant in Moonrise Towers. If you have Astarion in your party, you can persuade him to bite her and in return she gives you a Potion of Everlasting Vigour which permanently gives you a +2 Strength boost.
Also the Necromancy of Thay is really thematic and cool for this build since, once you complete the quest in Act III, you get Danse Macabre spell which allows you to summon 4 ghouls.
Love that you “up front” your info!
To add to this, Skin Burster is also really good. It's more for a solo run kinda deal, but heavy armor master+Admantite armor+7 stacks of force conduit is over 10 damage reduction per hit, with 7 of that being all sources.
Very cool stuff. I'd been sleeping on the lockadin since it seemed so ubiquitous, but listening to this has me interested for sure.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate the Gameplay Showcase. As a person new to to BG, I have no idea what the rinse and repeat spells or bread and butter of combat is for each particular class or subclass. This is great!
This build is good but could use some improvements for sure.
I've been using a sword and shield oathbreaker paladin fiend warlock. 7/5 split respectively.
Starting charisma at 17 + 1 using hag hair. I use one of my feats for ability score improve to bring it to 20 then I use the birthright hat to bring it to 22 and finally the mirror of loss upgrade to bring it to 24. My other feat I take savage attacker giving me the highest possible damage on my smites. I recommend using Voss' Silver Sword or Blackguards Sword and Viconia's shield or shield of undevout. Both swords have an extra +1d4 of either psychic or necrotic damage plus extra abilities that both work well for a paladin. Because of my shield and heavy armour AC is around 24-26.
For eldritch invocations you NEED devils sight. Honestly take this invocation and use your first turn to cast darkness on top of yourself. This gives you advantage on attack rolls while inside and nothing can hit you back, it's insane. I didn't even take repelling blast because I wanted everything to come to me. It's ridiculous. Coupled with high AC nothing will hit you. And even if you do get hit, the Fiend warlock class lets you get temporary hit points for every enemy you kill. Busted build and super fun plus very fun to roleplay as.
My race was Dragonborn because I felt like I didn't even need any racial bonuses for this class to excel. Breath weapon is sometimes useful early game for groups of enemies but honestly race doesn't matter for this class combo.
This is da way lol
I'm leaning to a 8/4 split to get the asi scores for resilient (con proficiency on saves) and warcaster feats. This will ensure your darkness/any other concentration spells never go down. The 7/5 split is probably better due to getting 3rd level spell slots from warlock for smites on short rest.
I also think people splitting strength and dex is kinda incorrect. While the damage is currently bugged, it will get patched eventually and str will not add on top of the damage you do as it should only be cha. Dex is ideal as it lets you go first more often and set up the field with darkness. building this way also lets you have higher saves for spell effects on wis, con and dex which are very common (str not so much).
the above isn't to discount str builds, just the way 5e works dex is more optimal.
One other thing, Pact of the Fiend makes a lot of sense for the "Death Knight" as the temp hit points are another form of sustain.
This similar to my build of a way of the shadow monk/thief rogue teifling. I have the ring of dark vision on him so I can just pop darkness on me and obliterate everyone inside with all the flurry of blows/bonus actions. It's SO satasfying
@@crackball22 do you get sneak attack with that?? Sounds fun.
@@dungeontales8117 i'm pretty sure it would work, I think all you need for sneak attacks are advantage iirc but since I was running monk it was better for me to just keep spending ki
I really like how you're straight to the point immediately in the video
Straight to the point after a minute and 40 seconds...
For anyone wondering, aura of hate only applies to melee weapon attacks made from from the applicable entities, that's why it doesn't buff necro summons, because none of them use melee weapons, only unarmed attacks and bow from skeleton. He made it seem like it was a bug but in reality its just bad design, from what I've read around the web apparently in 5e zombies and ghoul attacks in table top actually do count as weapon attacks, so not sure why they don't in bg3
Undead enemies in 5E can’t have “unarmed” attacks, so all of their attacks are considered weapon attacks. In 5E, you’re also allowed to arm your undead with weapons of your own in some cases, depending on your DM.
I did darkness with devils sight on my build that was similar to this, and it complimented the Astarian in the group really well
Devil's Sight and Darkness are a phenomenal combo.
Thank you for doing a TL/DW at the beginning and tagging - very helpful.
Excellent content. I really appreciate the front-loaded information.
Use your greatsword from the forge in blight town to add silence to your melee. Been working extremely well for me. Also the plate mail from the grymforge is epic for this Frontline deathknight. Grymforge heavy armor not only looks absolutely amazing but it prevents crits and reduces damage and debuffs attackers. The necklace from the spectator in the underdark gives you 2 amazing spells for the theme btw. Also as a head piece there's a crown that gives scorching ray (3 targets take 1d6 fire dmg) these items are insane on this build.
would defiantly like to see a melee zombie controlling/summoning build
Ez advantage
7/5 Paladin/Warlock with Aura of Hate and the animate dead crown that Balthazaar drops
I did 2 paladin 10 necromancer have someone haste you I also built my character to have both 20 str and int 14 con tho but doesnt really hinder me
@@Goaheadandstaymad21332add Danse Macabre after finishing the thay, and you got yourself a real death knight.
I think a 6/6 EK Fighter and Necro Wizard would be the best summoner based Deathknight. You get the better necromancy from 6 Wiz (and nothing beyond that really matters as a necro wizard beyond spell progression) and you also get the 2 attacks, Con proficiency saves, heavy armor and action surge from EK. (Plus some help with spell slot progression as EK is a 1/3 caster.) You'd go max STR and wear the headband of INT. Melee and summons for damage, spells for utility/defense (like Longstrider, Shield or Blur).
Was just looking for a build like this, thanks!
Spectacular build my brotha!!!! I’ve been trying to really dial this kind of build in. Thank you so much! I’m off the next two days and you just assured that my girlfriend is going to hate me during them 🤣🤣
Great video as usual! really like your presentation style. Hoping one day you'll do a shadow monk, be interested to see your take on it
you put alot of time into this. I enjoy your passion ty
I did not know that you could multi class. Ty! This changes everything!
I learned so much watching this video.
Completely unrelated to the video itself, I saw your thumbnail in deviantart years ago and still looked as epic as it does today. Whoever designed this must be really proud of how it's been used for so many different death knight depictions.
It's not as many attacks, but SwordBard10-Paladin2 is also really good. You can dual wield and stack critical range modifiers, along with the risky ring to get a crit chance of around 30%. Since SwordBard is a caster class that still gets extra attack, you have all the spell slots of a Wizard11 for your smites, but also have slashing flourish. If you're lucky, you can get a crit on both slashing flourish targets in one go, and since you have level 5 spell slots, that means you can deal a massive amount of doubled radiant damage with your smite. Bard 10 is also the only way to get Banishing Smite, which is really really fun on a melee class.
Love this build. The ring of arcane synergy works very well with sorrow. It allows you to use your bonus action to cast a cantrip, keeping your actions free for attacks. With magic mirror, the hag's hair, and the pimp hat, you can easily get charisma to 24. 7+7+7+ 10 from great weapon Master is +31 to your base damage.
For a lore friendly D&D Death Knight build, The Fiend Warlock is more thematic as OG D&D Death Knights have the ability to cast Fireball.
Please note that respeccing oathbreakers is 1100g - 1000g to undo oathbreaker at the knight and then 100g with withers to respec - then you have to find a way in game to break your oath again.
Its a ***ache
Dunno if larian has any plans to allow the oathbreaker knight to help you respec within oathbreaker
And thats just the first time. I respec'd a couple times and the 3rd woulda been 10k. That's a lot.
There's a mod on Nexus to address that. Not sure how well it works.
Subscribed. I enjoyed all your bg3 content and i'm excited to see what's next!
Awesome, thank you!!
27:54 I've got these two with my current playthrough. That Everburn Blade is Awesome. I just got the other one, so I haven't tried it much yet.
7:12 Yes that's absolutely a bug, either with the spell's effect or as a typo because typos are bugs. If the tooltip says "any nearby fiends (or undead)" but it's very obviously not "any" then you can be confident that it's not as intended.
Ok I gotta give you props ... You are 1 of the best CZcams channels in your genre... great speaker always well researched and gives the info upfront... if I wasn't poor af I would donate asap gl with your channel subscriptions
Fair warning, he gets a lot wrong. Often. For example in this video he displays he has no idea how the ability “Hex” actually works
He also says charisma is the modifier for your smites, it’s not, it’s based on your strength modifier.
And aura of hate doesn’t effect everything you do, it only affects melee attacks.
Just double check infor before thinking 1 video will be the only right way
@@ToHonorKnowledgeI bet you’re fun at parties.
I’m thinking of doing this with Wyll for my playthrough. Seems it could fit him really well
I’m excited to see what you come with for Paladin/Sorcerer. That’s what my main currently is and it’s a lot of fun to mess around with Meta Magic 😁
Ayyy former EQ bro nice to see someone in the space that has the old MMO experience.
This game is SO complicated. I feel like i need to take a freaking course at my local community College just to have BASIC proficiency in choosing stats, spells, abilities, and gear. That is just to start.
I would like to see a melee summoning version !!! Great build btw :)
Love your content, man.
I appreciate that!
This is how i built a Count Duku character the hardest part is getting oathbreaker unlocked quickly so you can start pouring levels into warlock
Oath of Ancients = kill any non-hostile NPC
Oath of Vengeance = Free the goblin in the Emerald Grove
Oath of Devotion = Allow Arka to kill that same goblin
I just attack the Tieflings that have captured La Zael. It breaks all oaths from all subclasses.
89% Unsubscribed viewers is a mindbogling metric. Why do people hate clicking subscribe?
Hope you turn this around mate
It might be seasonal, I followed IS while his prominent Bannerlord era, then unsubscribed as he covered something I was not interested in (Warhammer I think..). Now I am considering getting back, but maybe as we shift from builds into something else.. will definitely get back for Bannerlord as I have no time and patience discovering that game on my own. Currently Bannerlord is not on my SSD, so hopefully it will come together with future patches.
Other side is that every half year I need to "cleanse" my followings so the subscription section remains somehow managable..
great content brother! im gonna have to subscribe
Nice build, needed it ! Good work dude !
14:12 I had some fun with Polearm Master combined with Sentinel. There are a lot of cool weapons to go with it too.
This is the way!
Yeah my vengeance pally Minthara is a powerhouse with it
Bro I love the fact you throw down what your whole videos about within the first few minutes
The reason the oathbreaker aura of hate doesn't seem to work with the undead made using create undead is because it only effects melee weapon attacks, and your summoned zombies are unarmed.
dude doesn't understand how the game works, but he's recording THE BEST guides on it. It's so funny.
@@mightbecurseddoes he really have good guides ?
I found out by accident that you can Equip the Hellsblood Armor on the Bulette during the Underdark run

its so good and the fact I don't NEED wizard at all is great. I miss learning spells But I just made Gale uber wizard
That’s some SWEET armor!
Subscribed, thanks!
just a heads up hex does not work how you explained it, the ability hex's really only effect things outside of combat like checks. the only good one to use is the strength hex because it will effect shove and throw chance
I know it’s an old video but I feel like it’s important knowing the Oathbreaker aura of hate will only work with summons with a weapon (like a skeleton’s bow), zombies and ghouls attack with claws so they don’t get the bonus
I love that your tldw is in the beginning lol
@italianspartacus OG Everquest players represent! I miss farming hill giants in Frontier mountains and camping the aquagoblin camp ! Lol.. also the feeling of flying around with my bard at 200 mph Aoe circle kiting entire zones! Ha!
Bard kiting, pulling, mezzing, and twisting songs was my favorite. I bought a Nostromo game pad just to twist efficiently.

@@fuzzymuppet1990 SoW plz
Thanks for the video
Devas mace and the codex or book that adds the spell undead army, would be nice additions to this build
Ive done a 6 paladin/6 necromancer. Was actually pretty fun. Did my 6 paladin first then went into wizard since act 2/3 you get good necromancy items. Got up to 1 lvl 5 spell slot with it
Great video! I just want to note to the people arguing about which stats are pointless in the comments that Dex or Str are not worthless if you dual wield. The blade pact only works on your main hand and the dual wield fighting style lets you add your ability modifier and that is dex for finesse weapons and strength for regular weapons.
Written guide would be lovely 😊
If you want a more thematic death knight build, you can go with the same build but install a Dread Overlord mod that adds the Undead patron to the Warlock class 😉that way you can just go 5 Pal/7 Warlock
Divine smite doesn’t use charisma. Love your videos man, you’ve been helping me a lot
My understanding is when you use scrolls/spells from items and such like say the ray of ice from the staff you can get in underdark it pulls it's 'casting stat' from what ever class you added last. Do you know how exactly that would work with multiclassing like this?
Example: If I'm level 2 paladin then it obviously would use wisdom. If I then add a level of warlock it should use charisma now. But what happens if I add a 3rd level of paladin after the level of warlock? Does it start using wisdom again or does it still use warlock since that was the "last class I added" but not the last class I leveled up?
So if I’m not mistaken the secondary attack with the Pact Weapon no longer stacks with Paladins secondary action. If that’s the case would you still recommend 5 levels in Warlock or go 3 levels to unlock Pact of the Blade and maybe go 2 levels of Fighter for action surge??
And it shouldn´t - that clearly was a bug. Additional attacks never stack in DnD, you only get the highest one of your classes provides (similar to temp HP).
I would definitively drop to a 4/8 build to get all three feats and for me thats 8 Paladin/4 Warlock.
Hate doesn't increase the summoned damage because it scales of the user's charisma. The summons don't have an increase to charisma which means no increase in damage.
Aura of Hate>2 lvl 4 Warlock Spell slots because that dmg remains there even when you're not using Divine Smite because you're out of slots. BTW, funny you mention the Charge/Bound Warhammer because I accidently just found out the 1d6 Electric damage is still applying even when the weapon is not bound or pacted and in anyone's hands so I guess it's either a bug or you're supposed to deal ANOTHER 1d6 if it is your weapon of the pact or your bonded weapon, I will test.
what is better "death knight"build warlock/paladin or wizzard-necromancer/paladin build?
i play both a warlock and a wizzard and i want to mix in paladin but i can't decide on which one.
Quick question...As i'm playing right now...I'm playing oathbreaker until I get Aura of Hate...Then I was planning on taking Warlock to the end which is what you've done. Although you've suggested doing it in a different order. Does the order make a difference???
Aura of Hate only applies extra damage to “weapon attacks” and most of the undead summons are using unarmed attacks. If you were standing next to the skeleton archer, the aura works, but as a melee character, you aren’t probably going to be next to your undead ranged summons very often.
Doesn’t work on archer attacks either fyi. Ranged and melee are two different things.
Myself and a few others commented this on one of his vids a while ago, guess he didn’t see.
Edit: we also commented that because of level cap, you’ll never get necromancy high enough to use its passive with AoH.
Why are you taking the darkness spell but are not taking devil's sight ? That combination is much more potent than anything you could gain from disguise self
Control Undead can be a bad spell because not all undead things that you can control have abilities like Jump, and very often you and your party will jump over a chasm, but your controlled undead will remain behind because it can't jump.
This is only an issue with Oathbreaker, because the undead summoned by clerics, warlocks and wizards don't have this issue.
Yes I want to see melee summon build too
Is there a recommendation on when i should break my oath?
I am planning something a little different, sort of a "dark commander" sort. Biggest differences are 7 Oathbreaker/5 Warlock, taking Devils Sight + Darkness, with Alert for the bonus to initiative, but also instead of Pact of the Blade, I intend on taking Pact of the Chain, in order to get the imp with 2 attacks. I will also favor higher DEX than STR and use Phalar, which is a finesse weapon despite being a longsword. Then Gale will be a necromancer with shovel, then Shadowheart can also get summon undead, etc. Now I 100% admit that pact of the blade would be stronger 1 on 1, but I think capitalizing on Aura of Hate with as many fiends and undead summons/pets as possible might make for a stronger team. Because not only can you use darkness to help them survive when they are traditionally squishy, but all of them will get your charisma as bonus damage. When it's that many attacks from minions, I think that might be far better overall than another attack on one team member. Really depends on how many pets you get I suppose. Tempted to add a Spore Druid into the mix just for extra giggles just to see how ridiculous it can get.
I haven't got to do it yet, but that's my general idea for my Dark Urge Tactician playthrough.
Does Gale care if you respec him to be a necro guy? I'm thinking about a Dark Urge playthrough and had heard he would leave if you do any evil stuff...
@@FutureOverYou the game doesnt really care if you respec your companions, it acts like they were their orginial classes. As far as if companions leave or not, it depends on choices I think. Some companions don't care or even approve if you do dark things, others won't, it depends on the companion. I've never had a companion just up and leave suddenly though.

Thematically, I made the storyline for my paladin, that he sort of has become overwhelmed by the weight of the tasks on his shoulders. And tries to find ways to get more power to defeat the evil before him. He started as Oathbreaker because taking the bonus from the hag makes you lose your oath, and it would make sense he seeks that power. He is reading the Necromancy of Thay because he felt he was the only one that can control that evil. So on, so forth, he corrupts. Into the Death Knight.
My Oath Breaker Paladin -Warlock I went to The Fiend. Partially sounded good with Dark Urge. Because I'm going Full Bale. Also GET SHOVEL!
Great video but how did you break your oath so late in the game? I heard that something about it is bugged in act 3
Would love to see your melee summer hybrid build
For my death knight, I don't bother with divine smite and any of those things, I'm using a battle master fighter and a necromancy wizard, so I am a frontliner with a horde of zombies with me and I got low dexterity, so I roll low in initiative, so I can attack and finish the enemies that already got hit by one of my zombies, so they transform into a new zombie
Hell yes, absolutely the way to go if you actually want summons in your deathknight build. I would go EK instead of Battlemaster for the little help with spell slot progression, but that's minor and the BM dice are incredibly handy too.
So I have a question. I Have this adamentine long sword. Which every strike you make is actually critical hit. So in that case with the feet(idk is it writing like that my language is different in the game) when I deal critical hit, I can hit another. But for some reason it is not working that way. It was the reason I wanna play with this build actually so that I can hit more :/
I thought that one of the recent patches fixed the pact extra attack stacking with regular extra attack for martial classes? is that not the case?
Is it better to go great old one or fiend for subclass? I know fiend gets fireball, can you get that spell with GOO?
Cool, cool… now let’s see the undead summoning melee hybrid build you talked about at the start. That’s the real death knight build.
There is a mod called "Death Knight" for Baldur's Gate 3. It's very over powered and is very different from most mods that add classes to the game. I used it for my Honour mode run, and managed to beat it. I'm going to redo it though since it was basically easy mode.
Someone please help me! For some reason Deepened pact (extra attack) is not working. I only get two normal attacks. Yes I know their was a patch that stopped the stacking BUT only for honor mode or am I mistaken?
I like this build guide. But I was wondering if you think it would work well with a friend playing a necromancer?
It'd be even stronger because you can buff their undead :)
Another weapon if your going the more sword and board is
Knife of the Undermountain King
The holder of this item gains:
Organ Rearranger: Reduce the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking by 1. When they roll 2 damage or less, reroll the dice, taking the highest result.
Shadow Blade: You have Advantage on Attack rolls against Lightly or Heavily Obscured targets when using this blade.
So if you go devil sight and darkness it makes you a absolute destroyer and if that wasnt cool enough its in ACT 1
This is the dilemma I'm in. Just reached Act 3 and I'm trying to decide how I should respec Tav in terms of stats and equipment. Sword and board is what I want to lean towards and I like the idea of casting darkness in conjunction with the Sharran Helmet that reduces Crit die and the knife. Maybe add the ring that adds 1d4 while obscured.
@@alandubois159 yea I'm going full tank for mine heavy armor and Sarevoks Helm it gives dark vision minus one to crit, and you cant be effected by emotion effects so im thinking dual wield with the flail you get from the gnolls would be duuuuuumb since it heals 1d6 every hit attack you land with it
Who would you better recommend for a frontline tank? The Death Knight or Eldritch Knight? My current BG3 party is Lae’zel, Wyll & Shadowheart. I’m trying to do a character lore accurate tactician run with Eldritch Knight, Death Knight, and a Trickery Domain Rogue. I wanna make Wyll and Lae’zel be either a tank character or a spell caster but trying to decide who better fits which role. TY for the great content.
Honestly, EK. You're just SO TANKY. this is more bursty than it is tanky
Ok cool! So maybe I should lean more into warlock for better ranged damage? Or do you suggest different roles for Wyll / Lae’zel that would make for a stronger comp?
I like combining Devil's Sight with Darkness especially as a melee character
There’s also a death knight class mod on nexus mods, but this is also cool
With Pact of the Blade, why are you still worried about your strength? Pact weapon deals damage based on Charisma, just push that to 20, and strength to 10 so no negative.
can you go 9 lvls of pal and 3 warlock and get the benefits of aura hate(animate dead)? and still get the charisma modifier from warlock?
Worth pointing out it costs 1k to restore your oath which you have to do before respeccing as an oathbreaker. I’d probably just set your strength to 14 and not worry about respeccing.
Not sure Repelling Blast is as good as Devil Sight for an invocation -- give to your Death Knight in addition to the Darkness spell and a Sentinel feat, and you are going to just obliterate your magically blinded enemies.
replelling blast is one of the more powerful invocations due to how many parts of the map can maximize on fall damage pushing foes is one of the most optimal killing strats in the game
@@superape013 no loot tho
@@jamieeddolls5605only if you push them into a void you can kill easily just by sheer fall damage in the game in lots of areas
Letting the Hag go free, broke my Vengeance Paladin oath. It also bugged the game and didn't give me the item. Unsure if other two oaths would also break.
Some how I feel the damage from pact of the weapon is underwhelming to the eldritch blast damage doesn't seem to make sense to go for a melee warlock build
