It was a pleasure to do this video, don't forget to like and subscribe :D
Being a self employed courier I like the mileage calculator, and yes a clunky process to add it as an expense. Looking forward for when the update get’s released.
fingers crossed for an update at QuickBooks Connect in a week or so time
I have followed your instruction, but I don’t seem to be able to get my full claim in to my tax return only the vat element?
Lifesaver . They really need to have it add automatically as an expenses really . Plus it seem to not track all the miles I do . Why I’m still keeping a book .
Agreed! I am pushing for it
When you enter a trip manually do you need to enter the return journey as a separate trip?
Hello Aaron. I've followed your instruction but I can't get the full claim only the VAT. I don't actually want to claim VAT because I'm on FRS but if I don't select VAT it claims nothing. Any advice?
The video edited out the details of you creating the custom mileage inclusive vat rate, should it always be set to “7.14” (not sure I understood why you were multiplying the mileage by 0.3) including what account (liability/expense etc from the drop down) and what to set for show tax amount on return , show net amount on return. Please could you supply the answer via a reply
im trying to print off my millage report for my accountant, but it has my personal and business millage own the same report, all mixed together. Can I just print off my business trips?
I’ve used this feature for the past few weeks & it only captures about 30% of my auto trips. Disappointing. I would not rely on it to capture your trips with our checking it.
It’s a know bug at the moment that its not picking up all the trips - fingers crossed it will be sorted soon
It picks them up they show up and then seemingly randomly disapear
im about to start using this feature so an update would be appreciated. how do you add a personal vehicle, not owned or leased by the ltd co?
ill add an update soon
Do I have to add on my potential mileage deduction to my business expense? The car van travel expense section only shows up my fuel expenses that I submit so I don’t know if I need to add on the mileage when I’m doing my tax return
Yeah you should add the expense
Would love to use that feature but I have a part time job driving for a delivery company as well as my business (different business to delivery driving) so not sure it would work for me
Perfect for you - let the milage record automatically, then set rules for the private use and review the left over ones
Hi Aaron, I'm on the flat rate scheme, and I do my millage monthly, so is it worth me still adding the VAT to the millage?
Not for flat rate scheme, but it’s always good to see a true reflection from the traditional scheme to the FRS
i am a sole trader do i need to set up a directors loan account. I use quickbooks online but dont know all to record mileage as an expense
not as a sole trader - you should use Drawings instead
I have quick books self employed and I don’t see I can add additional cars in app.
Not a feature in QBSE but also not needed 👍
