The gloves you got are great for paddling and sun protection. Kastking sell matching sleeves that provide UV protection too. I wear flats shirts and quick drying pants in my boat because they fit my style of fishing apparel being older. I use to whitewater Kayak and ride Mountain bikes when younger and the gloves you bought look like them. I carry a fishing glove in my boat for the rare occasional giant Musky, Pike, walleye and Channel cat. It is cut proof, puncture proof and oversized and slips on fast. I just grab them by the jaw like a bass and slide them in the boat. I used one on a 46-inch Musky last year and that thing was huge. None of the teeth went thru the glove. I didn’t care if they did because I was so excited it wouldn’t have matter anyway. I use to use an old welding glove and they work too. I bought a fish grabber like you use but didn’t trust using it on that monster. Big Channel cats hit bass jigs like freight trains and that glove is great for lipping them too. However they bite down real hard if you don’t keep their body weight holding open their jaw. It feels like slamming your thumb in a car door. However you can slide your hand out of the glove to get loose, at least I did. I don’t think I would try using a glove on a Bowfin because their much meaner and bite just like catfish can. One more cool thing; handling prickly panfish, they are worth buying just for them. I got mine on Amazon for $12 bucks with free shipping. You get a left or right hand one in the size that fits you.

oh yes i have seen them sleeves. I think it's pretty cool! allows you to be stylish. I did that back then but i lost one,, so I have decided to just go long sleeves all the way now. I would probably get some gloves like that too if i get big mouth pikes/muskies! Snakeheads are a total different story. gloves or no gloves, can't put that hand in there! gotta use grippers. oh yeah them cats got some strong jaw. Like a snakehead! but snakes got teeth. Bowfins teeth are so sharp and uniformed, it will slice through you like hot knife going through butter. They can do damage so i wouldn't put hands in there. yeah them panfish got so much spikes. especially the perch where they flair up their gills. the only ones nice are crappies since they got a big mouth to grip onto lol!

Great video! I honestly was thinking about investing in a pair... my hands get crushed all summer long. Thanks for all the helpful insights 👍

No problem man! Some folks likes the older generation one for the more finger coverage. So check that one out too ^_^

I started wearing gloves last year and love them. Besides sun protection they are great for pulling snags, breaking brush when lines wrap it and they also kept hooks from sticking in my hands. Awesome gloves my friend🤙👍🎣

I like the longer finger gloves to protect myself from line burn. You need some longer pliers for when these snakes swallow the lures like they swallowed mine lol!

Did they stop making the sol armis? Looking at the new ones, I think I prefer the older. I’ve used weight lifting gloves with similar palm materials and thy always rip or tear on me. Especially when kayaking. Also I’m not a fan on the tight Velcro at the wrist. I’ve used the sol armis for a couple years and they are super comfortable for me. Not as cushy in the palms for kayaking, but now with a pedal drive, hopefully I won’t be using the paddle as much.

I still see them on Amazon, so they should be around. I am sure they will keep em for those who prefer longer fingers and less bulk at the palms. I bought like 3 of those last year and it's been fun swapping color gloves LOL. The only thing i really didn't like was that the bass mouth gets caught on them. but other than that it wasn't that bad. I tied knots pretty easy, at least most of them. I some times play with complicated knots for fun and it was harder to do it with the gloves on given my carpal tunnel pain.

thanks man! Let's just say i spooled myself casting it 40lb braided line when my MH Speed Demon Pro didn't! I also hauled them out of things i never thought i could with my older rod! confidence in pulling snakes/bass in heavy cover just went sky rocket!
