If ur into the Japanese fishing... You will know that the spine rig is a variation of the Hover Strolling. But do you know what is the difference between the spine rig and traditional hover strolling rig?

Hover rig is nail weight inside head and jig hook in and out the top of the bait. Exactly what the video shows.

No... It's now clear that you don't know. So let me tell you Hover strolling is traditionally rigged with a nail weight at the lower front of the lure and an angle. It allows hover strolling plastics to roll when you jiggle the rod tip as the lure is moving back. The spine rig is as portrayed! But this is used fished via slack line. The lure will fall like a tube bait.. It spirals down.. Core tackle hover rig isn't really made for hover Strolling... It's a spine rig on a Jig. A improperly used name that mislead many Americans on what strolling is about. Most ppl use it for mid and bottom strolling as they only have 2 or 3 jig sizes that can even do hover strolling.

I like mine for my portability. I can take it and put it on my next kayak. But that is because I have the thruhull mount for hobie Kayaks. Not old town. Old towns are heavy. Probably best with larger motors

I first tie leader material to the braided line as these thin PE line are fragile. Having leader gives it better abrasion resistance. I use the albright knot from PE to Leader material, then uni knot to terminal tackle

I think i'll free rig some more indeed. letting the current blow the lure around naturally seems to be a good thing. alternatively, jika rig and articulated jigs like the Eye Strike Fishing Texas Finesse eye Jig would be my choice to avoid some of those seaweed!

@@BrandonAdams1010 Neko rig does not replace texas rigging. especially if you are bombing cast far or to fish through thick stuff. I use them relatively close. I don't also fish it in thick weeds, but i would flip into open pockets or edges of weedlines. but i often use it most in rocky bottom or near fish beds.

Neko rig is popular for many reasons, but if you feel that it's not worth it for your waters, feel free to use what works best for you in your waters! 🎣

Nice! Yeah I think some smaller finesse stuff could be killing it for most ppl. Once school starts up next month and I can drop kiddo of school... Expect me to sling this a few times!

I am a PE kinda guy! You can try Varivas 4 PE 0.6 gou or 0.8 depending on your lure weight and rod power. Then 4 to 8lb leader material of your choice
