You're saying that like Chilwell isn't injured. Everyone knows Chelsea haven't been good since they lost Chilwell. Whoever plays on that left side be it Azpilicueta, Alonso or one of the wingers, they aren't good enough. Before he got injured Chelsea had an unreachable defence and that's why they were so good in 2021. Their wingbacks were also their creative outlet. Now teams can target their left side and they create nothing from that side. There's a reason they went from top of the Premier League to quite some distance behind City and Liverpool and Chilwell is a big reason. My point is Chelsea didn't beat a fully fit Madrid side last season but Madrid hasn't beaten a fully fit Chelsea side this season. Fair enough if Madrid go through they were the better side thisnyear but we haven't seen them go toe to toe yet when they were both at their best.

Mendy is a class keeper. However he will never be amongst the worlds best with the ball at his feet. The modern keeper has to have that in his locker.
Well that's not true because he WAS the world's best last year. Its just receny bias talking. Yes obviously his footwork is the weakest part of his game but he didn't make mistakes last year and the mistakes is mainly a confidence thing. Just like how Courtois can't even take his own fucking goal kicks. That doesn't mean he hadn't been the best keeper in the world at points in his career. Alisson's had shakey moments this season whereas Ederson is the epitome of a keeper comfortable on the ball. Yet I'd 100% choose Alisson over Ederson if we're talking about who would I want over a number of seasons.

Real were more clinical with their chances and Chelsea got a bit unlucky with theirs + some poor finishing aswell. Must be disappointing for complete neutrals who want a good tie. If it wasn't for the mistake the second leg would be a lot more interesting but I don't see Chelsea winning by 2 or more goals at the Bernabeu.
