My vacuum died again and now i had 2 dead batterys laying around. Saw this and figured i might combine all good cells to make 1 good battery out of 2 dead ones.
Was my first real soldering job i ever did but i did it and my vacuum works again. Thank you!

I'm happy that you find my video useful, later i found that it can happen only one cell of every two connected in parallel can be defective. If you find that battery capacity is not sufficient and vacuum shuts off during operation until battery is drained to lower capacities - in mobile app - this is indicator of only one defective cell.

@@chichovenci I measured that both were dead, luckily had many spares from dead laptop batteries. How I noticed something's wrong in the first place was that the vacuum was moving ~2cm away from the dock after a moment of trying to charge. Must be a clever safety feature.

Since each LGABB41865 is 2600mAh, will it be a whopping 20800mAh and can the roborock last perhaps multiple times longer than the original xiaomi battery? Thanks for answering

Hello, thank you for the great video !
First my experience: the robot arrived 1 Sept 2018 and works every single day. Average runtime 1 hour, 50-55 square meters a day, total run 757 hours 38k square meters 867 cleanups. It sits on the charger all the time when not cleaning.
I didn t find this video before, so I already got the replacement battery pack a few days ago. It wasn t really necessary, just noticed that on turbo mode the robot cannot do the job at one attempt, but returns to the charger before finishing.
Now I want to ask your help. I cannot open the old pack without ruining it, but it has 16.4V btw red and black wires. I want to pu it in my EV as an emergency startup battery. When the 12V small battery is discharged, the car needs something to kick on the traction system, that then will take over and charge the small battery. I successfully used for this purpose a 20V 5S commercial screwdriver battery pack and think that this double capacity 16,4V battery will do the job too.
But I want to keep it charged ouside of the vacuum, soI need to know what is the method of doing this - what voltage to connect to which contacts of the four pin plug. Would you be so kind to advise the simplest method of keeping it charged ? Thanks a lot!

In my opinion if this is original battery first check if there is bad cell i had the same experience cleans but dies somewhere in apartment on random place... after further inspection happened that one of parallel cells was dead. when this happen you can expect faster wear of other cell...
to charge it you can use B6 charger from aliexpress and laptop charger (16v) (have you tried the easiest to connect black and red wire to 16v power supply)

My robot starts cleaning with 100% of battery left and the last 4-5 times when it arrives to 40% it dies suddently.
Before when the battery percentage was low it returned to the dock in order to recharge itself and after that it starts again, but now it stops itself in the middle of the room without any voice message.
