We dive into the city's metropolitan vibe, reminiscent of a European fusion of NYC and Boston, and discuss its walkability. We discuss the city's commitment to green spaces, many of which offer free WiFi, and give you a heads-up about the city's dogs and the bad smells that linger. A tip for first-time visitors: bring lots of strong bug repellant, because mosquitoes are everywhere!
Our video wouldn't be complete without sharing some of our favorite vistas. We'll take you through the Eco-Park, a former zoo, where you can freely roam amongst the Patagonian maras and peacocks. Experience the Arcos del Rosedal - a series of restaurants and bars under the arches of train tracks. We'll also share our dining experience at La Alacena Trattoria, one of the country’s first Michelin Star restaurants, where we enjoyed one of our best meals in Argentina, and the 1920’s-themed Harrison Speakeasy for deliciously strong cocktails.

Buenos Aires is nicknamed "Paris of America" and it's no coincidence...
In mid-19th century, Paris was demolished and rebuilt as we know it today, shortly after Buenos Aires was also demolished and rebuilt in the image of Paris, with its architectural styles of that time: beaux arts/academicism-art nouveau/deco, with the layout of large boulevards/avenues/diagonals and proliferation of parks, like Paris.
That's why among major metropolises of the world, just London and Paris r on par with Buenos Aires in terms of urban beauty.
For ppl who love architecture, Buenos Aires is "paradise."
I didn't know they were re-built around the same time - that makes sense! It was done in a beautiful style. I wish more cities maintained an emphasis on architectural beauty in present day development.

Rosario, second most important city in Argentina, has an architecture that resembles Buenos Aires, and is the other "European" city not only in Argentina but also on the continent (along with Montevideo and Quebec in Canada, although in latter cases to a lesser extent)

@@gt63628 Cordoba ni siquiera es segundo municipio, ya q el segundo municipio es La Matanza, y si hablamos d ciudades (municipio + conurbano) la segunda es Rosario, alcanzando 1,9M habitantes
There was a real strange plague of mosquitos since late March up to late Abril, but by early May was completely over. I guess ur video was made within that lapse
Glad that it’s not like that always! We were there Dec - Jan.
I had a very different experience in BA, probably because I didn't go in Summer, but also because I walked everywhere. Stayed in Recoleta on the advice of Argentino friends, and right on the edge of one of the bigger parks. I didn't see any dogs (the family I stayed with had two cats!) and there were no mosquitoes. There were some great neighborhood coffee shops as well as plenty of restaurants. I've been told that most Argentinos don't speak English, but strangely enough, almost everyone I met did. I have visited Mendoza several times, and I'm looking forward to seeing other parts of the country. I found that the best part of Argentina was the people who live there! They don't stop the party just because the sun comes up...:).
It does sound like you saw a different side of things. That's one of the greatest aspects of BA - it can offer so many different experiences depending on what you're into! The mosquito was a big issue in 2024, because of a weather condition called "La Niña".

Mosquitoes are usually not a problem.
But during the last summer-autumn there was an INVASION of mosquitoes !!
