Warminster Maltings Cold Steep Test

This video will demonstrate how to perform a cold steep test with the purpose of ascertaining final Lovibond color of malts. With our test we will be using traditional floor malted Icknield Barley from Warminster Maltings.

We've been using Warminster Maris Otter and Low Colour Maris Otter for a few months now and I'm really blown away by the quality. The floor malting is a little more gentle on the grain and we've seen improvements in yield and lauter times. But honestly, it's the best tasting UK malt I've ever used. The flavor is nothing short of amazing. We're using it in all our malt forward ales now. Hoping i can fit a barleywine into the schedule soon, the marris otter would be perfect for it.
