- In this video we look at a super quick way to achieve a nice finish for stucco/mud rendered buildings. I'm using an old prototype of the Tabula Rasa: Desert Buildings from Knights of Dice

So glad I tuned in. Thank you!
Thanks for an informative demonstration. Well done. I appreciate that some mistakes were made and that you addressed them as you worked. A perfect execution might have been too glossy so this was excellent. Some newsprint on that table would be the only thing I would have changed.
Love your work! God Bless You! - Frederick
Perfect. Just what i need
That was so helpful!!
Very helpful, Thank you
Banana Ale? Seriously, Viv??? :-) Anyway, awesome tutorial as usual. See you over at Spectre. Cheers!
I'm really new to this hobby and enjoying it a lot! These videos are so helpful. Would drywall compound work?
Sure!!!
Having lived in coastal middle east for years, I think it really looks a lot like coral concrete...My 2 cents worth. Regards, Solomon
Coral concrete? Will have to look that up ... the texture is directly affected by how long you leave it to dry before wiping it with the foam, if you do it early you get a completely different pattern.
Great little tutorial. I've done something similar in the past using "No More Nails" style grab adhesive, as I found it a little more hard wearing than filler.
Wow, sounds messy ... but hard as 'nails' ... hehe :D
Viv and how would You go about using filler to get an end result somehow similar to that texture presented in Outremer: Faith and blood (outremerfaithandblood.blogspot.com/) - meaning ofc the structure shown on the walls of the buildings there?
neet stuff its stuko youe think of you skip a step by adding the paint color right in to the filer or plater or rock hard ptty see my vid and see as you go
Thanks for watching. Last time I added paint to this brand of pre-mixed filler it did not set ... it seems to vary from brand to brand.
well sorry just trying to help did know that cant do that i ues drumela rock hard ptty see vid and if add a dark paint to it it goes light black macks gray othe brands thoght might do same did with plaster it when gray to may be has be watter bass ???? HHHHUUUUMMMM and dont think get hare to try it thare got be a resen pain in but will see more
What is a good place to buy these buildings?
These are available from my business Knights of Dice
Nah I think I'm going to use stone spray paint by rustolium. Cool technique tho
Would adding some sand give you alot more texture.
You could add sand, but in my opinion sand on buildings looks ridiculous ... mud rendered buildings are very smooth, at least all the ones I've been in, they just have an irregular surface.
RubbishInRubbishOut yeah i was just thinking for a little extra texture not a ton like some guys use
Even better is adding baking soda
Where is this building from?
It's one of the Tabula Rasa: Desert Building kits from Knights of Dice.

@@RubbishInRubbishOut I think I recall seeing you in a video with the 15mm desert buildings. Do you happen to know the door height? I'm looking for some smaller scale desert terrain but I'm not sure if the scale will match well enough.
