HaHa..Hey Spanky, love the stuff...found it while trying to figure out something to use for grout but am finding tons of uses and projects for it
Jeff Reiten The spackel is Great for grout on Ho brick kits! I’ll email you a picture
@@spankyfuentes3502 Oh Cool..Thanks...be curious to see the results..planning on using it for my HO project
Iam in love with this technique.
I try to mimik it with the products that I have available. After watching the video again. I might found the problem. Working on it!
Ah Nice Marvmensch...Glad to hear your making it work!..let me know how it goes
Just putting a list together and it doesn’t say what weathering pigments were used for the first and second mix I’m loving these videos
Brilliant as always...
thank you
Thanks Silent Traveler! Appreciate it! ;)
Cool. Another technique to try. I used last for siding on shed and it came out great. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet! Glad to hear it Colossal BigShot!..another tutorial out next Fri Night..may try and get a bonus vid in this week too!
Very cool and realistic! Seems like you have to buy a lot of supplies to do this effect
Hey Chris! Thanks!!... you can use them in so many ways on so many projects..like I used the lightweight spackling for brick mortar-used the Hydrocal for pouring scale bricks or making concrete slabs or roads etc etc..so for 25-30 bucks in supplies I have stuff for quite a few projects!

Thanks Sid! Appreciate it!!
Fantastic, Jeff! That's a great way to make a textured stucco surface. And, damn, all that mixing makes me want some chocolate cake now! :)

well after seeing this I already have an excellent reference for a pair of dioramas that I have in mind, luckily I just bought two of your molds on ebay😃 I hope to try them soon! and I have to say that the finishes you achieve are top! and with very easy to follow processes! thanks for sharing these tutorials!!
Thanks sam's scale productions..Those are some really nice and appreciated comments..and a Big Thanks for picking up some of my Molds!!😃
Awesome result
But could you list ingredients and where to find in front so we can screen shoot it
Directions would be great. Thanks.
Thanks Nancy! check out my pinned comment and that should help with the ingredients and where to find them😊
Phenomenal! How do you prevent warping of the base material?
Thanks oitoitoi! The mix used dries pretty fast and the wood used was was Pretty thick...thinner wood may have warped
Hello sir, I really appreciate you sharing your process and techniques. The realism that you achieve is inspiring. I create in 1/18th scale, is it possible to capture this amount of realism in that scale? I definitely will be trying to learn the techniques that you show and once again I appreciate you sharing your craft. Looking forward to more of your work and videos.
Hey Law Creations! Thank You!..Oh Yeah these techniques will Definitely work in 1/18th scale....Most of these tutorials range from 1/87th to 1/35th ... scale -a few just a tiny bit larger..so working in 1/18th scale you will really be able to achieve awesome detail with these techniques..Thanks Again for the Compliments and more tutorials are on the way soon!!
Thank you so much for your quick response I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to learning and Thank you for sharing the possibilities that can be achieved. I'll be watching all your videos again and I'm looking forward to more. Take care and be well.
Can you share which BRAND weathering powder you used please? Amazing Work!
Bragdon powders?
@@spankyfuentes3502 Yep those are the ones..stuff is pretty awesome...www.bragdonent.com/weather.htm
Jeff, have a question. Thinking about making some molds after watching your vids. Do you use a vacuum to get the bubbles out of the silicone?
Hey Sid, ... I don't use a vacuum chamber for the silicone - but I do use a pressure pot at about 30 psi...the nice thing about the Smooth On dragon skin series silicone you don't really even need to do that for simple molds...50/50 mix ratio pour over part and can be used to cast resin (with a release agent) or plaster with no release agent www.smooth-on.com/products/dragon-skin-30/ www.smooth-on.com/products/ease-release-205/
@@JeffReiten Thanks, appreciate the vids and quick response.
What is the base material that you are applying your mixture to? Is it foam or something else? Thank you.
Hey Kit Aster! ..in this video I am using a wood base ...I add a little wood glue into the mix to help it stick..if you were using something like a foam or plastic base you can just stick with the white/Elmers glue!
Amazing work. I have a quick question. What is the plaster-lab stone you mention? Thanks in advance for your help.
Hey Daniel! Thank You! I use www.plasterguys.com/Dental/Lab-Stone-Type-3
@@JeffReiten Many thanks for the help! I'll give it a try. The result is excellent!
@@DanielFerreira-ub2hl Thanks again! I used the dental stone just cause its so rigid-almost any plaster should get similar results..let me know how it works out or if you have any more questions
How would you adjust the colours/pigments to create a faded white render instead? Would you use an off white throughout?
Hey Dan! Yep- Exactly just tone back the pigments and the paints to almost nothing and then a very thinned light wash at the end to highlight
What’s the pigment you use in the mix
Hey Daniel..!...I used Bragdon Weathering powders here but I use Mig or AK in my mixes all the time...www.bragdonent.com/weather.htm
I've scraped it off twice now and I'm trying again! Think maybe I'm making it too thick...
Hey Laurie. N! Oh No!...whats not working about it-Coloring or Texture?
@@JeffReiten I think maybe I over think it instead of letting it organically come together. I'll keep practicing! Is regular plaster ok, and can you use any glue?
Do you still reply to comments
Yep!😁
