James Hetfield has a metronome in his brain. Greatest rhythm guitarist ever.
Best front man ever..... (no I don't mean the best Vocalist or guitar player)
Papa het plays some killer lead as well...
I think you’re right. 🤔
James is a monster on rythm guitar, but that title belongs to Malcolm Young.
James is not only the best rythm guitarist in thrash but I feel he was the best vocalist as well .
The whole album is just a "master"piece.
there is no doubt it is. Legendary and I will never ever forget the first time I heard it when I was young.
@@2heavenAndHell dude, it seems like you missed the pun
M.O.P. ....is a MASTERPIECE, ....but....my personal favorite will always be "RIDE THE LIGHTENING"!! Both of those albums are quintessential METALLICA, at their ABSOLUTE BEST !!
Nice one
@@j.s.8496 My personal favorite album is And Justice For All because I tend to enjoy it in a more diverse set of situations, but objectively Master of Puppets is the best album they ever dropped
Fun fact the intro is actually bass👍🤘
Cliff the man...the legend
Fun fact: i am so drunk right now i could eat an elephant
@@SleepParty30 I´m drunk and eating an ox, prepare next time
R. I. P. CLIFF LEE BURTON love and miss you cliff and I will always be very thankful for the gift of music you given us all ❤️. Thank you both for all your time and energy to do this for us as well as yourselves have a kickass weekend
R.I.P METAL GOD
Time, energy, courtesy, genuineness, honesty, passion and above all...class!!
Being a drummer, the tempo was 184. Many bands play faster these days but doesn’t mean it’s better then this great classic
Metallica's compositions are often put together in ways that make them sound *much* faster than the actual tempo.
@@mfree80286 It's all about intensity
@@Walamonga1313 about 95% of Metallica's music WAS about intensity. But something they have in common with their new music is the lyrical content. It has obviously matured and improved. but they have insanely good meaning to their songs. But intensity, HELL YEAH
yes the tempo is fast but it's not just speed there is dynamics involved too. And this is why this song is great. Tempo, dynamics and melody all in one song. Pure awesomeness, and in that time they were 20 something old, without significant musical education. Pure geniuses
In their genre, they were the Masters of transition!
Each song, particularly between Ride the Lightning and Masters...was a Rockin Rollercoaster ride thru the Stratosphere!
And to think they were in their middle-ish 20s and making this music... Absolutely awesome.
The BPM for Damage, Inc. is about 185. Damn fast.
its 190
And James is downpicking the thing! My head
@@seantimmons5900 it is literally impossible to downpick the song. he does alternate either.
184 Beats Per Minute 4/4 time sig
That should be 184 Severe Beatings Per Minute, considering what song it is. ;)
I think it's faster, between 188-190, I don't know exactly.
@@jonatanbg8746 its 184
Damage is definitely 190
Battery is 192
Metallica may not be the fastest, but damn if they haven't perfected the craft if heavy metal. James is a down picking riff god. Kirk is a Soloing master. Cliff was a musical genius. And what Lars may lack in technical skill, it makes of for in the studio with good production intellect. The The bands albums are all cohesive and sounds great as a collective work. There will always be other bands but you will be hard pressed to find a band as well rounded
i agree with you %90 percent. but i am sorry lars is an idiot
@@mustafayuksel8912 you're clueless
Lars is one of the best drummers in the world
@@kellya71 which world?
James is the Riff God. I'll give that to you. But Dave Mustaine is the Solo Master. Kirk can only dream of being anywhere near Dave. Lars is not bad and Cliff is the greatest bassist ever
Is it time for the heaviest song ever? Give her a taste of some DISPOSABLE HEROES 🤘🤘🤘🤘
The thing that should not be menn hahahaha
@@francoblanco2496 Fuck yes!...DARK DECEPTION KILLS THE LIGHT...DA..DUN..DUN..DUN..DA.DUN..DA DUN..DA DUN...FEARLESS WRETCH...INSANITY..))
@@gdub454 🤘
Damn right boeeeyyy!!!!!
Damage Inc in your ears and a sexy lady on your arm... Livin' the dream you lucky S.O.B.!!! Lol😉
One of Metallica's tightest songs is one that isn't requested too often and that is Lepar Messiah.
OK .OK gonna get sentimental on me eh??? ...let Go with Disposable Heroes next ...remember you owe me ...MUAHAHAHAHA
Yes Yes YESSSSS
You think that was fast? Two words: Dyer's Eve.
Lars (The drummer) isn't even able to pull off playing it live - the song is so fast and technical, they had to piece it together in the studio and just left it at that.
I've seen it live, so ya full of shit lol
czcams.com/video/Wi047wK5Ndg/video.html but down from 367 BPM to around 180...
Their first four albums are all masterpieces!!
The absolute greatest Metallica song ever! If someone asked what song does Metallica play, this is the only song you need to play.
You guys are great. Appreciate the effort.
Hey thanks JPT. We are inspired x zillion and will continue to be ourselves and do whatever we feel moved to do. If sound or other tech stuff is not in order, please let us know...only day 8! We appreciate YOU being here and stopping in. Peace. Later!!!
I admire the interaction between you guys. It's refreshing to see. Best of luck to you guys. Thanks.
The song you want playing in the background when charging into battle
When they were a thrash metal band!
first time I heard this song was them playing it live, April 1, 1986 when Metallica opened for Ozzy. It was amazing
"Fight fire with fire" would be a great song to check out. I want to see Kel's reaction to the intro of that one! Not going to spoil it but Metallica has a tendency to do some unique intro's and interludes! Great reaction guys!
Hey Kel (and Rich) you both inspire to open up my mind! Thank you for that :)
this is a punch in the kisser for newbies the intro is so far from what came next
I also have been a fan of Metallica since I was a teenager. It is awesome to see someone enjoy and truly appreciate the music I have simply loved my entire life. I am 50, I can't understand why so many people hate this music and don't understand that is an actual work of art, love, and passion. You can hear it in the music. Thank you guys so much for helping me remember and relive those moments and feelings of discovering and falling in love with this beautiful creature we call METAL
I used to be able to play that.
The first time was 1986 shortly after the album came out, I was hanging out with my best friend in his room, and I was blown away. At the time, this was the fastest I wanted to go with a thrash/speed metal song. This song pegged the rev limiter on my 17 year old brain.
That glorious intro is actually Cliff Burton's bass.
THAT .. my friends... IS Metallica at their absolute finest!
I remember asking my parents if they could buy this for me at 13 years old.... played it all day and night.
THIS song...THIS SONG!!.....was our hockey teams pre-game song/chant. We use this before EVERY game. It pumped us up and used to intimidate the other team in the adjoining locker room.
There is a L.A. based Metallica tribute band called Damage Inc. They are excellent!
Love you guys!. Always entertaining!
My second favorite SONG off this album. Badass jam. Old school Metallica. The best
You two are relationship goals the way you guys look at each other you can see love in the both of your eyes
Smile of the DAY !! Awesome reaction :))
I was a 16 year old metalhead (1986), Hanging out at the "Swinging Tree" (a tree with a rope you use to swing out into the lake) at Bell Lake and my friend popped Master of Puppets into his ghetto blaster and instantly a mosh pit formed. It was one of those epic summer moments that live in your memory forever. I remember we swam down to the the city rec canoe club released their wharf and floated out to the middle of the lake with my friends, got the ghetto blaster crank that mutha to 11! Rocked the lake for good 5 hours when the cops finally got a boat in the water. Turns out the cops just dragged us to shore and returned the wharf to the canoe club and gave that look of "We're the cops so we should be mad but City Rec manager is watching so we'll act all pissed but that was cool". Best summer ever!
Damage Inc is about 184 BPM ... Master of Puppets is 212 BPM or approx. 7 Downstrokes per second. James Hetfield plays Master in all downstrokes ..... think about that.
Where does this data come from? Where did you get that info, pal?
I tried that MOP downstrokes. I got shoulder muscle pain. You need to be physically fit to play like that.
@@fittrege2778 not really, you need a lot of endurance though.
Love the reaction. Nice again!
damage incorporated...GO!
Real Metallica right here.
Nice hat, Rich, and thank you both for another exciting reaction!!! Cute air guitar on Kel's arm too.
Cliff: awesome!
Masterpiece
1993 I moved to Pigeon Forge, TN for a girl(now my wife). I didnt know anyone and joined a lasertag team.... at a huge place called Lazerport about a mile from Dollywood. We were a great team and played all the local teams and made the Southeastern tourney. After winning our fierst game we meet a team called...DAMAGE INC.
They played this song for our entire battle/game. they destoryed us.....BUT I STILL LOVE IT !
Nice 👍 !!! No, fuck nice!!! Fucking awesome!!!! You guys rock!
Battery - live Seattle 1989 lol 😂
And Whiplash from the same concert.
I'd like to see her reaction to SLAYERRRR
It’s not SLAYERRRR; it’s FUUUCKING SLA¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ER.........and obviously being a FUUUCKING SLA¥¥¥¥¥¥ER fan you no this, come on your better then that!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻😎🔥🔥🔥☠️
That whole album is mind blowing.
Hey Kel, if you want to hear the modern day Bach on electric Guitar, listen to Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond the Sun!
She already did! Search for it on their channel!!
Rich knowing what was coming in that first minute and Kel just waiting for the song to get going was awesome. It was as if he was telling her "I see you shiver with antici...pation" Just a little Rocky Horror quotes, lol.
3:21 that's james laughter right before he kicks in with the lyrics... perfect timing!
You guys are so awesome! Yall make my day just to see how happy yall are together!. I love yall!
Classic metallic with middle section borrowed from exodus; from Kirky was a member. Brilliant 🤘🤘
i was on a basketball court playing ball with some friends and another friend literally came running over with his boom box and said you have got to hear this..its stopped the game and we were all like when are they going to be playing around hear...awesome..been my favorite band ever since
You guys are AWESOME !!!!
There it goes... My all time Metallica's song. What an aboslut masterpiece.
This is exactly why they are THE metal gods!! 🤘
The best reaction...cool people...
... can't remember where i was the first time i heard that song.. but i have extremely fond memories of listening to this entire album, as well as the rest of Metallica's first 3, late at night with my headphones on, an auto-reverse walkman .. burning through batteries like crazy.. every night... i'd go to sleep to Metallica, I'd wake up to Metallica... (other bands too, Maiden, Savatage, Megadeth, Manowar... etc.. but Metallica was the big.)
Metallica is my gold standard for thrash metal
GOD GOD..... GOTTA LOVE IT!
I first heard this song back in 2011 on TV when the Big 4 (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax) came to Sweden (Gothenburg) and it was broadcasted on one of our public service channels for everyone to watch who wasn't there or couldn't see them live. Metallica owned that show but they are the main attraction after all. It was near the end of an over 2 hours long performance, the sky had gone black, all the lights in the arena were on, 60-65 000 fans who couldn't get enough and they played this song and I don't remember what happened to me through it, but it was incredible. That performance is the best Metallica performance I've seen to date. They were on point and the crowd gave them a night to remember too. It was simply glorious & spectacular.
lol the start of Damage Inc is like the calm before the storm!, Cheers and love the reaction.
First time I heard it was in my friend’s truck because it had a great stereo back in ‘86 in high school. Blew our minds from intro to Battery to Damage Inc.
I'm loving these individual reactions!
His reaction is how I am when I'm with someone who's ever heard anything besides Enter Sandman.
Her reaction is how I was when I first listened to this whole album when it was released on.
Audio sounds better.
Nice to hear the mighty Metallica. Check out their friends from the early days Mercyful Fate. Their album Melissa is a classic. Evil, Into The Coven and Black Funeral have been very influential on many bands over the years.
Gooooood reaction...🎧👍
Rich, we are the same age. 1971. I was also 15 when I first heard Master of Puppets. My cousin introduced me. Changed me forever!
The beginning of Damage Inc. is why Cliff Burton was a bass god. Also is performance in Orion
Haven't heard that in years! Kel had smoke coming out of her ears! Thank you Rich for that awesome memory!
Love all of your reactions. DYERS EAV. AND JUSTICE FOR ALL PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. CANT WAITTO SEE YOUR MRS. REACTIONS
Maybe break into some Judas Priest?
The Green Manalishi
Diamonds And Rust
Victim Of Changes
How bout a triple shot? Lol
👏👏👏👏👏 great request
@@largemouthhunter5014 Gotta be more specific. They have played Diamonds and Rust a few times throughout the years and it has evolved into something completely different from the original. Also, I would also recommend the Unleashed in the East version of Victim of Changes.
@@FFVison me personally , like the original album versions always first 👍 only because I was around waiting on the albums before the concerts 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@largemouthhunter5014 Perhaps. The Unleashed one was the first I heard, but I LOVE Sad Wings of Destiny. I developed the range of my singing voice on Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver.
The Ripper!!!
Such a distinct sound, grew up with these guys and their peers in the 80's but moved on quickly to their more prog metal peers and their old member's band Megadeth, nice visit down memory lane tho.
KEL!!! That cackle around 3.20! Joker-ess???? Love to you both
Fire reaction !!!
Thanks for that @Rah Beats! THAT'S FIRE!!!!! Love that.
Hahahaha, nice mis-direction, Rich!
"It's gonna be loud, Kel! ♫ DIGG'NA-DIGG'NA-DIGG'NA-DIGG!♫ GO!"
* plays song - slow gradual bass intro fades in *
LOL
I remember the first time I heard this song. I was in 4th grade. Needless to say, it changed my life.
I was 13. My head EXPLODED 😁😁😁
I was around 14 and it blew me away...even today cause you realize how hard it is !
Anything by Metallica, Tool, Iron Maiden or System Of A Down.
Love it!
I’m a former rink rat that spent most of my early life in hockey rinks. I played for a travel team and we had a reputation for being very physical. So, before EVERY game, just before we hit the ice we’d put this song on and LOUD!!
The entire team, coaches too, would all sing along...and LOUD!
Especially the “Fuck it all and fuck it no regrets!!” part.
We’d pop that locker room door open and if we were at an away game? The folks in the stands would just look at us and not say a freaking word till we got on the ice! Great memories!😎👍
Kel started a metalgasm at 2:38 that continued through the whole song.......you guys are awesome
Heard it in 1987 since than till now I been a fan. Saw metallica 6 Times need to see them more . metallica Kirk hammet has material for new album already
I'm fucking dying... That guitar solo had me ROLLING 😂😂😂 LMAO!!!
Glad you liked it @Sharky Dog. We have a blast. Check out so many more. Some funny ass moments all over the place...Rich
@@Kel.N.RichReactions I'm subscribing now! Watching your video for Slayer "Hell Awaits" now... Good taste in music! Reminds me of my teen years, lol!
Lissen to this band Tantara from Norway, Europe. Saw this young dude's 7 years ago. They got basic early Metallica sound. Tantara - Trapped In Bodies, 6th song on the debut album "Based On Evil"
I was in South Korea while I was in the Marines in early 1986. Best metal album I ever heard.
Wow, somehow I didn't remember this one even though I know most of the others from Master of Puppets quite well. Now that I know you guys are metal fans in general... "Awakening" by Unleash the Archers (power metal and amazing female vocals)... the band Trivium is a great mix of styles and "Beyond Oblivion" is one of my favorites (they're metal core I think)
Fade to black.... 🤘
These two have GOT to be COOLEST neighbors , EVER!! You'd NEVER guess ,by looking at this guy, that he's a die-hard METALHEAD!!
Nothing since Load really got my attention but the first five are where it’s at for me.
My sister had MOP when I was 11, in ‘89. I remember hearing it through the wall. Wasn’t until Enter Sandman that I became a fan of theirs.
But tbh I’m waiting for the fifth studio album by Tool, supposedly in June. The music is in mastering now
i was in Sophmore year STudy Hall...............herd it on my buddy's walkman*
One of my absolute favorites, great reaction.
one of the greatest Metallica songs.
Ahhh that sound of the young metal attack!!! Great reaction fellas
It is an awesome feeling connecting with the ones you love, even though they are far away. You can feel their presence in the music that binds you together.
This has to be the hardest song ever...
her giggle.....priceless!
Rich, I saw that smile on your face, you had that smile, Kel has no idea what she is in for with this song. LOL. Pretty funny. :)
Hell yes !!!
Still does DAMAGE.
They are the dome
