Roof work? Are you serious? Not only is it almost NEVER needed. That is a VENT along the ridge!!! No smoke coming out of it! Every window in the house is vented! Vertical ventilation is an unnecessary risk that only allows the house to burn better.
Actually the vent was needed there was smoke coming out of the vents becuase there was still active fire inside the building that you couldn’t see and they vented again just to let air inside the building
