  • 10 tips you should know before you go to San Diego Comic Con! I share things with you that I’ve learned over the last 20+ years of attending the San Diego Comic Con! #1 Lines! Line Con! Get in Line Early! Maybe the night before! Plan to stay in a room if you get in. Check twitter #sdcc, #HallH, #b20, etc. #2 Cosplay! lots of people come to Comic-Con in costume -- think about the heat before you go! And “weapons” have to be checked. The “Masquerade” is a costume stage show, and a ticketed event. It’s awesome.
    3. Comics! Actually very little of Comic-Con is about comics now. Lots of pop culture, movies, video games… it’s big money!
    4. Crowded! There’s over 100,000 people that attend this conference. It’s crowded! It’s really crowded! Prepare to feel like a sheep
    5. Expensive! You’ll spend alot of money, particularly if you’re traveling. Admission, hotels, parking, food, goodies, toys, it all adds up.
    6. Parking! Is mostly reserved ahead of time, if you didn’t reserve a spot, good luck. Take the trolley… traffic is awful.
    7. Food! The best food is out in the Gaslamp district, the convention center food is awful. I like the Kebab Shop on 10th and Market. Also Lolitas Tacos by Petco Park. Bring Snacks.
    8. More than the Convention Center! It’s at the Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, Omni, and all over the Gaslamp district. Lots of free events, and ticketed ones too. Even if you don’t a badge there’s lot of stuff downtown.
    9. 24/7, there’s something going on all the time. It’s exhausting, the heat, the lines, lack of food, lack of sleep. So make sure to actually get sleep, and eat, or you’ll get sick. And please… shower!
    10. Tickets! Not sold at the door. Sold online ahead of the event only. You can also volunteer to get in.

    If you can’t afford it or you just don’t wanna pay, you can always sign up as a volunteer. You have to register almost a year in advance to do so but I think it’s worth it. 3 hours of volunteer service gets you in for the rest of the day. And you get priority volunteer registration for the following year so that means free Comic-Con badges as long as you volunteer. This is my second year as a volunteer.

Will the panel be in a room like hall H? I live on the other side of the US and i do not want to miss out on the panel because the line is too large. If it is in a hall, should i go early?

    I can’t wait to come back to San Diego Comic Comic, btw, I’ve been to SDCC since 2015, but on the Outside, I haven’t been Inside, cause I didn’t have Tickets, it was Sold Out, and haven’t make it, but I took Photos w People Fans who wore Costumes. I had Fun, even I done it again 2 times, and the reason I’ve been 2 times, I live in San Diego. :)

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  Před 5 lety

      Everything in downtown san diego is expensive... I'd suggest booking a hotel using the comic con hotel booking site.. that's usually the best pricing. For cheaper... look for a hotel that is on the trolley line. You can take the San Diego Trolley (light rail) right to the convention center

    I've never been to San Diego comic con, but I wanna go in 2018 , so my question is, Do I have to have a badge? What's the significance of the badge? And what's the difference of me just getting a general admissions ticket instead of the badge? Do know much about it all , so if these seem like stupid questions I wouldn't know.

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  Před 6 lety +7

      +Harley Morgenstern A badge is a ticket. There's no difference. SD Comic Con has already sold out for 2018.. so you've got to plan for 2019 now!

    • @ketchupmacaronii
      @ketchupmacaronii Před 6 lety +3

      Too late for 2018, I have the same problem. I’m planning on going 2019, for the difference : there are no “ tickets “ badges are what you get to get in and you need them. If you want to go make sure you make a MEMBERSHIP ID awhile in advance of ticket sales, they’ll stop accepting membership ID randomly 1-2 months ahead of ticket sales. Well I hope I helped! Good luck

    Would it be weird to dress up as Todoroki from Boku No Hero Academia..but not fully just with a wig and a sweater? I am not sure if it would be weird..Is there a certain area for like the anime part or is it all together or do you just have to keep your eyes out? I don't mean to sound stupid but I have never been to one before..

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  Před 5 lety

      Dress up however you want.. costumes are so varied that really not much of anything is weird at Comic Con. And the anime stuff is mostly all over.. not really condensed to one section
