The Marian Gaborik to Columbus trade is a really fun deep dive.
Got the Rangers Mika Zibanejad and Keith Yandle
@@ShantyIrishman in a roundabout way, Gaborik got the Sens Dion Phaneuf, AND allowed them to Dump him lmao
If you take a really deep dive the Marian Gaborik trade and the Rich Nash Trade we’re connected which makes everything just one big mess. But would make for a great video
@@TFthecreekboy PLEASE don't remind me about Ion Phaneuf... No...I didn't spell his name wrong... He has no D... He also moved slower than an Easter Island moai...
I remember when Cammalleri, Alexander Frolov, Wayne Simmonds, Jack Johnson, & Jonathan Bernier were supposed to be the future for the Kings.
Yeah, I remember that saying as well. Along with Schenn
They were a HUGE part of the future for the kings....their trades led us to get Carter, Richards, Penner and Williams. All part of Future to win the Cup!
What the hell ever happened to Frolov?
The 3 team trade that sent duchene to Ottawa. Colorado getting 7 pieces
Lindros for Forsberg is a great interesting move.
That would be an hour long video !! lol
Ibask for that every video now. Its like a series of videos.
Let's not forget that Cammalleri was HUGE for Montreal in their 2010 playoff run. Even though I'm not a Habs fan, being in Montreal for a deep playoff run is something magical.
It’s happening right now.
@@theunknownguy5775 Dude, tell me about it!!!
Both Gretzky trades. I did it for fun once and it's absolutely massive
you can connect this trade to the gretzky trade
@@tonyf4779 viktor tikhnokov
The Craig Rivet trade to San Jose from Mtl
I absolutely lost it at the "Why Not?!" But Steve, is a tennis ball yellow or green?
Both, sometimes on the same ball.
Green, most of the time
Chartreuse
Smart move by having Iginla in background of your video, as fan of the Flames I approve.
Yashin trade to the Islanders would be fun.
I love the sens and i love that trade
Penner scored the GWG in OT to send the Kings to 2012 SCF. Worth it.
Gobi Pakora Prod. What?
Gobi Pakora Prod. Ah, now I see it. Ok, in which case I still say worth it. 👍🏼
Bruh what? Did you not hear the man in the video? Penner put up 11 points in 20 playoffs games, helping us win the cup. One of his goals sent us to the Stanley cup finals. Of course it was worth it. Does Klefbom have 2 cups??
I almost got irked by Steve calling them a "bunch of jerks" but since they had Justin Williams - aka the founder of the Storm Surge - I'll let it slide
Dean Lombardi during his Kings tenure was both the hardest-working person in any NHL front office and also the most visionary. Praise be to him.
As a Die hard Kings fan, I agree and disagree. Dude could draft and trade people to win. The future? DEATH.
Kiffin McGinnis any mistakes he made after bringing our first and second Stanley Cups are 100% forgivable. Look at teams like Toronto with infinite cash to spare and aren’t in the SC Final...
@@Rorschachqp seconded and passed unanimously my friend. Forgivable without doubt. But let’s not forget everything we have had to shed under Blakey. I love DL, without a doubt. But he did make it hard for us now because of the bad contracts and the failed trades. We missed in 15 when we had to give us Jonesy (I know, I know. Avoid the offer sheet) and then the Sekera trade...just too many firsts gone without a backbone to keep us going.
Kiffin McGinnis Speaking of which, GM Rob Blake has done some wonders digging us out of this hole and quickly as well.
@@Rorschachqp my dude you ain’t wrong. Snagging Kaliyev in the second round? Hot damn.
David perron. Hes got traded like 10 times it feels like
The craziest part to me is that he's played with 5 different teams across 13 seasons, but has never signed a contract with any team other than the Blues.
“Cammy and a pick” is legendary among longtime Kings fans. I think LA also leads the league in bringing players we traded away back - sometimes more than once, lol.
More times than not...it's players we never wanted to see ever again... Cammy and Blake were the worst of those examples...
Cam Neely trade to boston it still had reprocussions in 2019
randomly popped up in recommended, watched it, heard about the slovak league, liked
Hey! I'm Slovak and ...actually surprised our league even got mentioned it in one of the videos :D (if you don't know, it SUX bad).
Craig rivet to sharks who braught josh georges and max paciorety
These Trade Treese are informative and awesome
I love this! Thank you. Go Kings Go!
Forsberg to Nashville is an interesting one I believe
These videos make me miss hockey even more :(
Do the Byfuglien trade from Chicago to Atlanta in 2010. I started it and immediately it looks like Bowman got absolutely fleeced as part of a many player deal due to the cap crunch, but it gets way weird and convoluted with the acquisition, trade and re-acquisition of Jeremy Morin if you also note that Morin was re-acquired in the Brandon Saad re-acquisition trade who had been traded for Artem Anisimov and magic beans though Anisimov had a successful run as a Hawk for Artemi Panarin. It has several layers that fold back on itself while ATL/WPG reap the rewards of getting the best player.
Dean Lombardi did a great job.
Petr Nedved and his complicated and multiple trade history would be fun to see
The Eric Lindros trade to Philadelphia
Amazing video. I would only add that Dustin Penner turned out to be a solid move for the Kings, including a critical one in 2012. He scored the game-winning goal against PHX that sent the Kings to the finals. The following year, he scored the game-winning goal against St. Louis to move to the next round. (Kings lost against Chicago in the Conf. finals.)
Justin Williams was critical in all aspects for the Kings. Even though he won the Conn Smyth in 2014, in game one of the 2012 finals against New Jersey, he made the amazing backhand pass to Kopitar that sent him on a breakaway against Broduer that resulted in the BEAUTIFUL dangle magic game-winning goal.
All that said, Quick is the only reason Kings won anything. And, without Richards and Voynov, a Cup remains nothing but a dream for L.A. in 2012 and 2014.
All the trades involving Alex Galchenyuk.
Luongo to Canucks Deal, if you go into it it’s pretty interesting
Hey ... only because I would be interested to see how the pieces worked out in both these trades involving the Penguins ... The 2003 draft day trade with Florida that allowed the Pens to draft Marc-Andre Fleury ... and the 1991 trade when the Pens acquired Ron Francis and Ulf Samuellson that directly led to back to back Stanley Cup titles.
Nice breakdown
Loved Cammy
As a Habs fan, me too.
Same! I still have his Habs jersey
Not sure if you knew this but Elvis Merzlikins was acquired from Detroit and it raises the question if Detroit would be better now and this trade also has ties to Edmonton and La and Dominic Turgeon
did an Gilmour trade...it included Paul Reinhart 3 times and leading to Raffie tores and exists till today.
Need to do pre trade tree on the Jeff Carter deal. He came from a pick that came from Phoenix that came from Langkow that came from Gratton that was an offer sheet. If you count all the draft picks philly traded to get back it gets even crazier. Simon Gagne, Justin Williams, Rick Tocchet, Adam Oates & Mikael Renberg are all part of this trade tree that eventually leads to Carter and then coots and Voracek
Hey Steve can you do some sens trades, hossa/heatley, heatley/cheechoo, Ryan/silfverberg or yashin/spezza,chara
Have a look at the Brent Burns to SJ trade. That one kept going for a few years with all the draft pick swapping
"THEY DID ANOTHER ONE?!?!?!?" 5:33
Steve is the best 🤣
Either or both of Forsberg's trade from the flyers to the nordiques and preds respectively :]
Fun fact on Mike Testwuide... key player for the Korean national team as a naturalized citizen. Nice dude.
0:12 was that producer "drew"
This has probably been suggested before but the sundin-Clark trade.
Toronto won the trade but would Colorado have won the cup without the trade?
14:10
Hey! We’re the Bunch of Jerks, not those lousy Kings!
RJ Haney My thoughts exactly.
2 cups vs 1
That title belongs to the Canes! :P
Bruh not one but two vids on Mike, I like it
1:39 what was that sound?
Aki Berg scored GWG in his 1st game with Leafs
Worth it
Aki Petteri Berg. I had a few Classic cards of him in Sweden.
October 9th, 1978 the Los Angeles Kings traded their 1st round pick in the 1979 Draft to the Boston Bruins for goaltender Ron Grahame. A trade that saw the Kings acquire a “minor league goaltender” in exchange for a draft pick that could have changed the fortunes of the franchise for decades.
Kevin McCarthy That first round pick was Ray Bourque.
Do the Yashin to Islanders deal or Jonsson to Islanders deal from Maple Leafs in ‘96
do the 1985 Blues- Montreal trade, they swap like 8 or 9 draft picks,i never knew this one before Serge Savard told the story on the radio
How Montreal turn Craig Rivet in Nick Suzuki (and more) 😁
How about the Heatley and Hossa swap? That could be a fun one.
Hey, that is assistant captain of South Korea's national team Mike Testwuide to you!
One of the “best” players I ever played against is on your team Steve- Jack Campbell. I was going to mention some of the other former teammates or opponents but it doesn’t matter, just thought that was worth mentioning.
Aki Berg is a mean caretaker in The Finnish Liiga nowadays!
Finally u talk about the kings
crazy!
There's a story going on about that second round pick the Kings gave up in that trade to get Williams in that it was a punishment for an advanced leak and that second rounder was the cost of the leak...
Still waiting for the Pavel Bure to Florida trade tree which I'm starting to think that Steve Dangle IS AFRAID OF DOING.
Bobby Orr trade. I have already researched it and would be happy to help. I did tweet you Steve but have had nothing back as yet
Peter Forsberg please! He did play for a Canadian team for a year
You forgot the entire fiasco with Dumoulin with him being traded to Pittsburgh in 2012.
Also do that Jordan Staal trade tree
Do one for the Craig Rivet- Josh Gorges trade
If it hasn't been done already, the Joe Nieuwendyk for Jarome Iginla trade tree might yield some fun stories.
Steve: I don't understand why teams swap picks in the same round in different years. (Calgary giving up 2009 2nd, for LA's 2008 2nd)
Also Steve: the 2008 draft class was stacked.
The Forsberg Lindros trade (where the team that got the biggest name lost the trade)
Kevin Shattenkirk starting with Colorado
Well that plus visnovsky
My favorite player of all time :)
Yup, Mike had a great first year with the Flames and then they don’t resign him so they had room to pick up Jay Bouwmeester. What a missed opportunity... Michael Cammalleri was poised to be the face of the franchise. I also love how The Flames would repeatedly let talent slip through our fingers only to bring them back when most of their magic was gone.
Could you make one on Erik Lindros please.
Joe Thornton from Boston to San Jose or Ryan Callahan from New York to Tampa
Colton Teubert over Erik Karlsson 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Kevin shattenkirk and Chris Stewart for Erik Johnson and Jay McClemmet
TRY THE CRAIG rivet trade to San jose sharks for josh gorges
The Kings and Canes both had the 2 Mr. Game 7’s
Please do the Jaromir Jagr to the capiLals trade tree.
Can we see the Seguin trade? Specifically Bruins-stars one
How about the Brandon dubinsky trade?
yashin deal with ottawa and new york is a good time
Joe Thorton from Boston to San Jose?
Wonder if the NHL will retire Justin Williams Jersey number with Philadelphia Flyers or Carolina Hurricanes, since he was draft 2000 by Philadelphia Flyers
Habs - Avs trade : The now infamous : Roy / Kean for Thibault / Rucinsky / Kovalenko !
Please do a Paul kryria trade tree
2:20 how does 19+27=47?
Do the Dave Anderchyuk trade
The fact that this trade is connected to the Gretzky trade is insane.
ROYALTY REIGNS AGAIN!!!! I LOVE YOU BOB!
GO KINGS GO
I will say it again Martin Erat for Filip Forsberg
Gkg baby!
Next, you should do a video about how the leafs trading lanny McDonald to the Rockies helped the devils win 3 cups
The threeway trade with pit for derrick brassard
Dominic Hasek to Buffalo sabres from Chicago Blackhawks. Only reason buff made it to cup in 99. Best goaltender ever imo in his prime. Unreal. Anyone who disagrees is either too young to know better or looking for an argument. U cannot deny that.
Man could you imagine Karlsson and Doughty on a d pair
Aki berg was the man LOL
Again, using the team colours to show where players go would make these easier to read.
Ah yes! The Calamari trade!
Go vintage. Something crazy.. the Gretzky trade to LA? Lawl
