- why not attack blowby at the source with a set of total seal rings installed at build time? just something to think about. a quick summary: the second ring land total seal rings are obsolete and should not be used. the total seal idea is sound though. how about a total seal ring set for the top ring? i did install a set of the second ring land total seals on my '74 way back in the 80's. never had a problem with them.

BTW, watching one of your earlier videos I saw that you have the Jon Karcey manual. I've been looking for a copy of that manual since the '80s when I first read about his engine.
Can you guide me to where I can get a copy of that manual?

yes, i have the manual. it's an older version. i think he kept refining his engine and the resulting manual content through 1982. my version is from 1980. i have no idea where to find the manual as it is obviously out of print. maybe someone at thesamba would sell you their copy. i could run my copy through my scanner but am not going to because, to be honest with you, he did well but was chasing fool's gold with some of his efforts and the manual doesn't contain any real technical info. maybe i'll do an in depth review of the document as you are the second person to ask me about that manual. here's a link to some online content: www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6529&start=0
