- This is the McLaren Speedtail and everything you could want to know about it! Join me for an in depth discovery inside and out, as well as my first drive in the 3-seater hyper-GT from my friend @muc.collector. It's a totally unique offering, blisteringly fast, comfortable and loaded with special features, so let's go through it in detail!
The McLaren Speedtail is the follow-up to a legend, a modern interpretation of the McLaren F1 of the 90s, a car of which 106 were made in total and the same number continues to the production run of the new 3-seater. In similar fashion, the F1 was first introduced to be an exceptionally powerful yet still comfortable hyper-GT and the Speedtail now carries this philosophy into a new era with hybrid technology and immense performance available, along with a host of new features and details.
The Speedtail is powered by a hybrid setup including a 4.0l twin turbo V8 and electric motors for a total output of 1,070hp and 1,150Nm, which helps it to boast a top speed of 250mph or 403km/h, and able to do the 0-300km/h (186mph) sprint in just 12.8 seconds - compared to say 16.5 seconds for the McLaren P1. Despite these ludicrously fast numbers, it's also about comfort, featuring luxuries like motorised opening doors, 5 screens in total for the driver including the cameras that replace the traditional mirrors, and quality materials throughout.
By far and away the stand out experience is to be seated right in the centre, with entry via either door, and the option to transport 2 passengers plus a decent amount of luggage space split between the storage compartments front and rear. Onboard the feel is very much that of a hyper-GT with a silky smooth ride yet plenty of power and still the incredible handling of a McLaren thanks to the hydraulic suspension. It's unlike any other model from Woking thanks to a different sound with the hybrid system, being sat in the middle, and the unique displays and interface that faces the driver.
For a full look of the new hypercar, there's plenty to explore including the tool kit found in the front, through to the operation of Velocity mode and the secret hidden access key process. I hope you enjoy this in depth exploration of a landmark car that is something truly special.

@@erikbritz2637 pretty sure, this is faster. Mclaren always underrates their cars. This must be an absolute weapon.

Mclaren realises that the limiting factor right now are tires, and so does Koenigsegg who said Jesko Absolut is the last time they will chase absolute top speed. Speedtail has the best aero out of the 400+ club, I'm sure it can go 500 km/h with more power- but at the same time they know the price of not being THE fastest, so they instead focused on being the best car in every other aspect.

Well said. I couldn’t imagine you’d ever get anything done with typical hotel WiFi or the time it would take. Maybe 5G will fix that?
I’d imagine with the new 5G iPhone (or a similar android) the camera is pretty incredible and the connection speed would allow super quick uploads.
Though I’m not sure about editing on those, I’m sure it can be done.

Aerodynamic car were neutrally looks stunning because it had minimalist styling cue,thats why most of people have mixed feelings with senna design because of complicated aero dragging

I think, based on your name, the Middle Eastern countries have a fetish of Mclarens also, Brits obviously do, but when they make the same car over and over, with the same basic engine over and over, and then come out with a senna, followed by THIS... The f1 and p1 are badass, the rest are either fanboy pandering, or this.... jaguar xj220 is better looking than this 30 years ago. And when he goes "wow listen to this"... well sorry shmee but I usually love your excitement, but this is not one of those straight piped CGT vids that make me happy for so many reasons, this is a first and last look at the car for me.

In the speedtail it doesn't matter I guess but in the f1 and the t50 you'd get in from the left because the gear shifter is on the right side of the driver

1. You enter through the left so that the seat belt lock rubs you nicely.
2. If there is 1 passenger, you enter through the same side as them.
3. If there are 2 passengers, see '1'.

Well I think it's gorgeous, I warmed up to the looks of the Senna so maybe my opinion is worth much lol.
The only thing I don't like are the screens for the wing mirrors, why are borders so thick? It's 2020 and this car isn't cheap those screens should be borderless ( or near enough) just like a smart phone.
I would love to see passerby reactions, I think it would get just as many looks as Bugattis and Koenigseggs

funny enough, most concepts we end up wishing transferred so many things to the production car... This is a production car that looks like it should've stayed a concept. Price and the potential for a high top speed have changed the way people "see" cars, literally.
